Frankly I think fighting games have still never surpassed this There have been more important inclusions, funnier move sets, and more hype appearances, but something about Phoenix Wright in Marvel vs. Capcom brings a unique joy to me
Tom and Jerry have a rather unique design in Multiversus. Their whole design is that they don't ever actually directly attack other players, every animation is just Tom and Jerry fighting each other and the opponent just happens to get in the way. Like Tom will try to hit Jerry with a mallet and he jumps out the way but Tom's hammer swing is still the hitbox that hits the opponent. Or when Tom dodges sideways he's not actually dodging like a roll to get out of the way, he's just lunging after Jerry as he slips out if reach. The whole time they play they basically never actually pay attention to anyone else and are always locked onto each other which is interesting and very in line with the cartoons.
@@caldw615 that not a design but a presentation also mvc3 phoenix is more unique because his movesets somehow reflects how he “fight” in his respective series

Street Fighter has like 30 characters who shoot an energy fireball from their hands but you can tell a clear difference between Ryu's full screen regular fireball and Dan's pathetic one handed attempt that barely goes one third of the screen.
He’s my first main in marvel 3. Managed to destroy cosmics with him. I loved playing him so much so I may ask the same thing. I’m pretty sure half the roster in their previous game isn’t in Infinite because they’re making it look like a cinematic Movie
DeM In my eyes, Infinite never existed. Marvel vs Capcom 3 was where the series ended, where they actually cared about their characters and didn’t just simplify them to “functions”...
It's one thing to see the reveals on a yt screen and be excited, it's a whole other thing to see it live with a bunch of other people and letting out your excitement unabashed. Only downside? We already knew the reveals beforehand. I can only imagine how it would've been like if we didn't have those roster leaks.
imaging signing up for a fight tournament, then the day of your great fight you discover you're gonna fight a lawyer (and that's fine 'cause you need to do something to live) and in the middle of the match your rival starts a trial against you, winning by disqualify you due your crimes

Can't agree more. This is why I am always looking for reveal trailers on cams for MvC3 just to see reactions.
I love how UMVC3 keeps the HUD in game in the character reveal trailers unlike most fighting game character reveals which removes the HUD
