Great video. I’m remodeling an old house that has really steep/short treads both to that attic and the basement. I don’t know my answer yet, but the graphics you’ve made help me get my head around it.

I was wondering if you could use the landing at the top to curve left a couple stairs. My staircase isn't in the middle of the house, but toward the edge.
What if the situation is a too short of a rise,along with narrow trends ? Headroom is limited, but plenty of room at base of stairs in basement to lengthen, no obstructions. . No room at top of stairs to cut into joists to lengthen staircase.
If you don't have the headroom you might need to extend the opening into another room. I would go through some of our videos, because I'm pretty sure I made one that would help within the last year.
Stairways are 7/11. Of to heaven.
I have this very situation in my home. I'd like to add a landing at the bottom floor level, possibly with 1 or 2 steps. On a 90* turn. I'd also like to have an 11 in tread. Any suggestions on a video? Yes, I have the head room to make this work.
