love and light to all the Gong family and friends of .. we loved Daevid and he was a great wizard showing his ideas could remain strong timeless and brilliant..
daevid allens seemingly mad poetic vision is rooted in true human spiritual evolution, a true artist and visionary we will miss his contribution to the great work,.....his art survives as a signpost......turn on tune in transcend crapitalism and transform the planet!!!
22:22 to 24:24 is an excerpt from "Big Tea for Tim" - Music Tim Flatus (that's me btw), voice Ruz Hibbs, Directed by Andrea Heinrichs. I'd love it if this got added to the desc. Most of the stuff that follows were later Daevid poems he recorded with Stephanie. Only the first 20mins are actually Gong.
Having met Daevid, Gilli, & Tim on a couple of occasions back in the 90s, I am convinced that they are not of this world...and I thank them for gracing us with their presence, their music, the Gong mythology, and showing us through their music that spiritual awakening IS possible.
Un ange nous a quitté!! DAEVID ALLEN 13th January 1938 - 13th March 2015 It is with great sadness that we report the passing away of the great Daevid Allen, for many years the leading light in the anarchic collective Gong. Daevid lost his long battle with cancer, and the world is a little less sunlit as a result. Daevid Allen was the kind of mercurial, inspiring individual whose free-thinking nature positively touched the lives of all who came into his orbit. When the Australian-born Allen first arrived in England in late 1960, he ended up as a lodger in the home of Robert Wyatt’s parents; the first Beatnik to be seen in the Kent countryside. Allen brought a glimpse of a different world and way of living to Wyatt and his friends, and later, as a founder-member of British psychedelic pioneers Soft Machine, added his unique vision to British rock music at the time. It is as a founder-member of the sprawling collective Gong that Allen will be most closely associated; born out of the Paris Spring Commune of 1968, their debut album Camembert Electrique was memorably released in the UK in 1974 on the nascent Virgin Records label for the price of a vinyl single. Gong were never blessed with a stable line-up; Allen left the band in the mid-seventies, but reformed Gong in the early nineties. The latest Gong album - I See You - was released late in 2014, and was greeted with universally glowing reviews, a brilliant restatement of Allen and the band’s enduring musical and lyrical values. Although Daevid Allen’s death at the age of seventy-seven is a sad loss, his lasting legacy - an unapologetic desire to live, explore, entertain and inform through his remarkable body of work, outside of the world of the everyday - will live on.
I like my tea with lemon and a slice of ginger root. . gong music on the green planet. . . on the road to anarchy. . our way is better all php(s) wake up. . keep this world green. thank you zero the hero.
I first got turned on to gong and other prog and Italian prog bands when I was at ft Polk la from 87 to 91 from this guy sgt Chris borelli. Chris if you happen to see this thanks man I still listen to this music to this day and once more thanks😁👍
Christian Marin Se suspendió porque el "productor" quizo cagarse al grupo con la plata. El cancer de Allen fue descubierto luego de las fechas que Gong hizo en Brasil.
The one thing I loved about Gong was you didn't need weed to blend into their vortex. It's there, it's all laid on. You can smoke weed and get into anything. . literally. Maybe Gong smoked a bit to chill, but honestly they were way too professional and musically accomplished to allow weed to have that much of an effect on their trajectorary.
the classic psychedelics, like acid & psilosybin actually bring you great clarity, pot can enhance some asspects of these experiences but I feel it can sometimes blur that clarity .I love pot and smoke it every day ,pretty much but it can affect your confidence to speak out or challenge ideas, I think it opens you up to so many possibilities that sometimes you find it hard to be sure what you think.I find mushrooms to be extremely empowering, but not everyone agrees.
If you need drugs you're not doing it right. I tried them all (a long time ago) and they just got in the way.. They just affect your critique. Still love Gong tho..
I'm a young gong fan and I dropped LSD and took mushroom tea to Gong. It's pure therapy and spirituality within their music. One of the most beautiful moments in my life. Thank you Daevid Allen and company!
@@lenini056 Muito legal viajar no som do Gong! Mas é sempre bom ter cuidado com as viagens de ácido, saca? Deve-se "pegar leve" para não acontecer de ter uma bad trip
I have this on DVD, and it's still all out of synch'. It's a shame no one can find the proper edit and footage. But still, how bizarre to see nuns, old age pensioners and villagers in Spain, sitting there, and watching GONG! Fucking amazing!!!!!!!!!!
Do you mean the actual DVD footage itself is out of sync, or merely this CZcams upload? I was thinking of buying this DVD, but if it's a flawed edit, I have ways to fix this.
It's on the DVD. The audio and picture are from two different occasions. It's not out of synch' in a fixable manner. Just random edits to a music track, when they're in the church, that is.
In fact, it is amazing that GONG did that in Spain, and I am pleased because I am Spaniard. 1973, still Franco alive, in a Fascist Regime, and they came to Montserrat and played in front of that audience!. Incredible, bizarre!. And what about that poem of Daevid Allen in the toilet? xD
Bernabé García Sánchez Increíble... El contraste con la audiencia es indescriptibe... y en aquellos tiempos!!!!. Siempre había querido oir aquello y ahora me lo encuentro con imágenes y todo... El poema ya... la traca final...
Weed on its own is not enough. It takes practice and maybe a little pscilocybin to open your third eye, upon which the Planet Gong becomes clearer than distilled pish.
At the beginning the titles list the bands and one of the bands is called Acidmothersgong? Does anyone know anything about this band, I'm presuming it isn't the Acid Mother's Temple and Gong collective group? I'm confused...
No, it IS (or was) Acid Mothers Temple & Gong! That segment starts at 58'35". The gig (at The Royal Festival Hall in 2003?) was excellent. I didn't realise there was any film of it, apparently the sound engineer recorded it but wiped the recording because "No-one should ever have to hear that again"! There are Acid Mothers Gong albums available.
No one looks like they are ever. Absolutely tne unique band in their best 1971-74 period.
Fantastic musicians.

I'm not sure that you need a special telescope to see Planet Gong. I think that you just need a lot of weed.
