How I added 20% more air capacity to my FX panthera without adding a front bottle or a dynamic kit

  • This is a video on how I got 20% more air capacity on my panthera. Remember it can be very dangerous doing any modification to bottles. These are extreme pressures and not every material can hold up so use your best judgment and do your own risk assessment before modifying anything that’s under these kind of pressures.
Below is the bottle I used.

For the money we spend on fx airguns, I don't know why they don't use 300 bar air tanks?

I may or may not have been filling my factory fx bottle to 300 bars already. I am happier knowing I have one that’s rated for 300. Filing to 250 with the weights I am shooting and the amount of shots I was taking seemed counter productive as I met up with reg pressure a bit too fast. Stay tuned though a friend of mine has something pretty interesting coming out for the panthera and upping the air capacity to an extra 400cc without losing hardly any front end height.

Thanks brother. What is the bushing you used? Was it machined? Or Did you pick it up somewhere.
I shoot at 150 bar with 30 grain slugs, and tyhe shot count is around 15-20 shots. I seem to recall you shoot at arouind 165 bar? So yeah, the shot count is one major (known) drawback of the gun. It is definately a pain when testing loads when you can't tether.
Also is the bottle the same diamater as the stock FX bottle?

I shoot the 34gr slugs and like to hang around 1025-1030. I’ve shot them from 1014-1040 and anywhere in that area they are happy.
I had this bushing machined. I’ve got a buddy that is pretty keen on the lathe and always has a supply of metals laying around.
The bottle I used was a compact its 66mm vs the standard 62mm. I put a link to it in the video description.

Thanks for sharing. Would you mind sharing where to get the bigger bottle?

No problem. I added a link to the bottle we used in the video description.

For bigger bottles, you can always use paintball bottles. Composite paintball bottles can hold up to 4500 psi and come in different sizes

Yeah ..i dont understand why they designed a very small air bottle on Panthera..why not design into 450 0r 500 carbon bottle air..a little bit bulgy in size so that it wont reach the trigger grip handle.

I’m not sure. The 300 will get the job done but one would think a aftermarket upgrade would have been offered besides adding a bottle or using a bottle relocation.
The new Red Panda PRS rifle is a 510Cc and no front bottle. It’s really sharp looking as well.

Thanks for this info, very usefull. I reside in sweden, any ideas if this bottle can be ordered here in this area? and what about the spacer? did You machine that inhouse? br Lars 🔫👍🇸🇪

I had a friend machine this one. I trust him when he says the metal he used will hold up to those pressures. I’m not sure on Sweden I ordered it from AliExpress. I added the link to the bottle in the video description.

Why does it look like it has a magazine? Is that a counterweght?

It’s a barricade stop I designed and modeled. I’m gonna pop a video out on it tomorrow or the next day. It’s a cool lil thing, it’s also got a hidden feature.

That spacer on the bottleneck seems like a bad idea, does the bottle adapter still thread deep enough into the bottle?

    • @Competitiveairgunning
      @Competitiveairgunning  Před 7 měsíci +1

Yes on a normal sized bottle I probably would not of done it. But you can see how much shorter the neck was on the bigger bottle there were less threads well. The threads on the valve extended into the bottle past the bottle threads quite a ways, so I wasn’t worried.

    What is that bag rider?

It’s a bag rider that I 3d modeled and printed. I really like the looks of how it turned out and how it fit.
