    Los speakers de la decada del setenta son lo mejor que se han fabricado. JBL, Klipsch, B & O, Pioneer, Marantz... etc. etc... Vintage 4Ever!!!

    S75s, for sure. More life-like! I have a pair of S60s, I use them as side fills in my multichannel system - these are the only 2 out of the 9 speakers thatI have not built myself! However, I have replaced their tweeters with BGNeo3 planars, though, to match the other planars (and it also makes the treble more refined). I think there was only a minor crossover adjustment needed, if any (I have to check my notes) so it's all 100% reversible. Thank you for the video!

    The front of those s-75 is a circular arc, and you'll have to sit in the centre of that circle, but when you do, they sound amazing. Owned the M100 and still own a set of S45-2, the latter needs new caps, but they are surely worth it!

    The SEAS bass is the same as the Dynaco A25, revered for its wicked bass, so why not add an aperiodic membrane to this - underneath to be out of sight? I plan to do this soon and make available a parts kit maybe.

  • @Smog104
    @Smog104 Před rokem +8

    Wow the Bowers and Wilkins bass is tighter but I think the Bang and Olufsen sound more pleasing on the ear , the sound is softer the highs clearer .

    • @audio-tec9037
      @audio-tec9037  Před rokem +5

      Exactly, the bowers are more seductive at first but after several hours they are more tiring and less pleasant than the B&O

  • @Lasse3
    @Lasse3 Před 4 lety +16

    The older speaker features superior physical properties, gigantic membrane area firstly, not to mention, a 10" inch's ability to move vastly larger amounts of air in the lower octave, compared to the 5" of the B&W.
    These are physical laws, they apply just as much 40 years ago, as they do now.
    Depending on how well designed the crossover filter is in the older speaker, it would/should sound a lot better than the B&W 603.
    it baffles me, how expensive a pair of modern speakers only featuring 5" woofers is.. Such small woofers can't, and won't make 'hi-fidelity' they can't recreate the bottom and warmth of a Grand Piano or a Cello, Double bass. If you want a 10" woofer in a modern set of hi-fi speakers, you'd have to spend a fortune, and it makes no sense.

    • @audio-tec9037
      @audio-tec9037  Před 4 lety +5

      This is true for most of the time, but one must also take into account the clearance and quality of the woofer, some modern or old 10" move less air than two 6.5" and the size of the enclosure has a great importance too.
      for a large piano it is the large body size that makes the resonance, not the small string

    • @arunashamal
      @arunashamal Před 4 lety +3

      because the market is driven by boomers and people over 40 who can't hear high frequencies well, so the all "audiophile "speakers are top heavy and bass is neglacted. You don't need a 10' woofer to hit listen to good bass these day, just buy B&O powered speakers they all move air above their pay grade...

    • @Lasse3
      @Lasse3 Před 3 lety +1

      @@parsiababaeian4098 not at all, subwoofers have nothing to do with hifi, even if you actually bought the B&W sub meant to be paired with the floorstander.
      You should get a modern hifi floorstander with no less than 8" Bass.
      8" is where it all starts.

    I think it would be interesting to see how a different amp would be able to control those B&W's That's one thing you can never throw out. I've owned and still have so much equipment. When I had the time, I used to switch out amps to speakers, vice versa. You will be surprised to what a difference it makes sometimes. Granted that Marantz is relatively new, sometimes changing out capacitors in vintage equipment will make a difference as well. That goes for all of it.,
