      He is legit 0,8 pt guy for multiple years, 20+ goal 60ish point guy in a team that goes absolutely against his type of play. He is super speedy player with tons of skill but not much physicality. He can produce PPG easily in a team that gets him into the right spot. He was playing with freaking Drury and Martinook this season, what do you expect him to produce? It would be like putting Slaf with Gallagher and Evans and expect him to produce PPG. Not mentioning Canes system with almost no transition game, only dump and chase game and a lot of forchecking.

    If I look at capfriendly, Carolina might need a right D behind Burns. Specificly for playoffs. Instead of offering Matheson why not offering a sheet like Savard, First round Jets's pick, Harris/Strubble. That's the payment for an offer sheet for Necas. Maybe throw in another 3rd or 4th round pick?

    @starkiller34 Před 14 dny +1

    Not much. And if you offer sheet him you'll see how quickly a fan base turns on a new GM.
    People will just jump at anything with mild skills in MTL. Necas is a periphery player, he benefits from the other forwards on the team. He is not what is needed in MTL. People just like him because he isn't old. His stats don't impress me, he's over-evaluated and there is a simple reason why the Canes would let him go: he's not gonna be worth what he's asking. I'd take him on a third line for 4-5 mil, but watch him get 6-7 and I bet that team should regret that by the playoffs. 1 point every two games in the playoffs, - 3.... I wouldn't invest in this placer, he's a plan B or C ifg you didin't get the big fish, and guess what? MTL is still a year or two away from needing the big fish.
    Necas is a trap. Unless he comes way cheaper than everyone expects, in which case the Canes would keep him. Say what you will about the Canes, if you aren't named Kotkaniemi, you aren't getting overpaid. For the record, no MTL insider talks about him positively. I'd wager they already know Hughes/Gorton opinion about the guy. Pto tip guys... stop looking at stats, and actually watch the guy play. If you want MTL to be full of 'meh' guys, go for it. If not, take your time, and do it right. Necas would be a weak shortcut.

      Canes dont need D prospects tho, they have best defense in the league with couple sick D prospects coming up. The offer they can afford is $4.2 million and he wouldn't sign that and Carolina would match that one happily.
      He has had one really good year where he lead the team in scoring. Is Carolina going to offer Necas more than Jarvis, Skjei, Teravainen and Pesce ?
