From someone who really hated BFA and Shadowlands, and has played every version of classic, Dragonflight has been fantastic and I'm hopeful that War Within will be great as well. So many classic players blindly hate on retail and they just need to give it a chance.
I met some retail haters in SOD and all of them had no idea how retail was cause they never played it. Even if you tried it and don’t like it why hate it though? A lot of people enjoy retail and they need to understand the world doesn’t revolve around them.
@@andrecardoso6941 Yeah lots of people jump on the "retail bad" bandwagon. Back in BFA and Shadowlands there were really good reasons to hate on it, but Dragonflight fixed everything that mostly everyone had a problem with, so now people just talk to talk.
I actually have had alot of fun so far too!

@@Guzutv I think retail really gives seasoned wow players their place to shine and grow. Classic is great, but we can all admit that the ceiling only goes so high for an experienced player. Retail has revived that drive in me to improve at the game and really push myself. At the same time, it's setup really well for new players too and gives them a great way to start improving on their own level. The gear upgrade system is fantastic, crafting is better than ever, and you can just play whatever content you want and still end up as powerful as you need to be. Definitely highly recommend it and I havent been able to say that about retail for a long time.

There’s definitely a hidden mechanic where blizz lets your gear rng be amazing when you return.
As someone who pretty much just runs keys and heroic/mythic raid it’s fun to see other open world content there truly is. Sometimes forget just how much is in WoW these days.

first thing i love about you is that you actually answer people in chat. i rarely use twitch and that made it more enjoyable. and now seeing retail on here is a nice touch aswell. i played every expansion since 2007 and i must say this one is my third favourite. first would be wotlk second bc.
I'm that rare breed that enjoys both retail AND classic. I like classic's progression and gameplay more, but it's fun collecting things in retail. SAdly I've come to notice even the classic community isn't very social anymore.

If you don’t have anyone to guide you it’s really frustrating. I returned to retail when DF released after quitting in WOD and I felt lost for easily a month. There’s so much to do at once you can easily get lost. Gladly I had a friend to help me through.

I'm curious as to why you think Dragonflight isn't already "the basics." Theres no mandatory system or anything that you have to do to make your character powerful; you can literally just tunnel vision the content you want to do and anything else is just optional if you feel like it. The gear upgrade system is probably the only thing I can think of that isn't necessarily basic, but it literally just sets you up for success and gives you constant progression as well as making it easier on your alts. Curious to hear your thoughts.

I feel like Guzu says anything these days to get attention and views on Dragonflight or war within. I haven't seen anything trend about retail these days or anything hype or excitement.
yet some streamers including him making a big deal out of it like it's WoD or Legion or smth to get hyped about.
even shadowlands had more hype train than any other expansion before yet these DF and WW doesn't seem exciting anything about it that these people are showing it like it's a big deal.

the content creator ecosystem for classic and for retail is pretty discrete. There are very few crossover creators so if you follow a bunch of classic creators your chance of seeing retail content is fairly low. Within the retail content creator scene outlook on dragonflight and war within are very positive and people are pretty hyped. It goes both ways as well, retail creators often do not play classic and have no sense what is going in classic so it cuts both ways.
