Hey guys, New alpha dungeons just dropped - and i managed to somehow pick up dratnos and Dorki on the way along, officially creating a PoddyC dungeon run hehe. Anyways we are checking out the dawnbreaker and Priory of the Sacred Flame - hope you enjoy!

Dratnos discovering what healing is like is so validating.
It's always been established lore that healing is by far the most difficult thing you can do in the game, especially in retail when you are also expected to dps and use dps utility (stuns, interrupts etc) and of course the hardest boss in any and all games, human stupidity.
No wonder he forgot to hit record on the podcast
@@omega1231 Need to dps high enough to be ''good'' healer dps, while keeping everyone alive, doing the things needed from the toolkit AND we are also required to do the ''jobs'' like the maze in Mists, activating the traps in Sanguine Depths, the spears in NO, trading market in Tazavesh, play soccer in AA... etc etc etc. We pay per month so everyone else can enjoy the game XD
@@maerya_ca Yeah true, but hey, when you do it well, it's rewarding for yourself and your group knows you did a good job. So yeah, healer is hard, but satisfying at the end when you succeed.

Ship terminology makes absolute sense. You can't say "right" because you could be facing either the front or back of the ship. And since some ships have a front and back that look the same you can't just say front or back either.
So starboard is short for "steer board" because that's where the board would stick out that was used to steer and in some cases even move the ship. Then the port side was the side that you put to the dock at the port. Since if you put the steerboard on the side you were docking you could damage the rudder/steerboard.
Then you have the prow and the stern so you'd know where the front and back were.

nah it makes no sense. how would you know prow from stern? You could still use front and back. and then you could still use left and right after that. If you know which way was prow then you know which was is front. If you know which way was stern then you know which way was back. and if u know front and back then u know left and right. Its just a dumb system because sailors are stupid.
But they could just be called right and left instead of port side and starboard still.
It could be named anything as long as it's kept constant.

Max predicts: "Everyone's gonna play ret next expansion!" While in the non mythic raid world right now: EVERYONE IS PLAYING FUCKING RET. Ret has become the hunter of the melee world. You queue up a group and 50 ret Pallys are popping up instantly. Fucking 3 button glitter bombs are everywhere. xD
And they're all sooooooooooo bad. I skipped s2 and 3. Without a leggo I'm slamming like 30% more damage than the fotm rets.
I've played it for 8 years. It hurts my soul to see so many rets not use their utility

@@uhqliss8537 oh god that's so bad. I'm a one trick pony where I'm only good at ret but like, I feel I'm really really good at it. I've done 6s this season and the other ret is using boosted talents. Hopefully they get better, a good ret is actually game changing for a group.
@@Sargaxiist2022 Ive played with a few rets and theyve been good. The biggest offenders are usually rogues or monks. Dont even get me started on mistweaver lol.
Im sure its because of the keystone level changes that its this way. People see a +10 and think "wow! i did that last season with my eyes closed!" and get destroyed.

It feels like there's been a significant step up in visual quality with this expansion. Between the new hd cut scenes using upscaled assets and the game in general it feels like this is the third era of wow to me. Dragonflight was the transition to the era that legion started and now we are getting a new level of quality based on the lessons learned in dragonflight.
It's super exciting.

As someone that works on the Ohio River as a deckhand, Dratnos is spot on with the terminology XD
with glasses, looking straight at the sun is not that bad, it just fucks your vision temporarily, but the glass blocks a bunch of bad uv so no harm done.
Priory of Sacred flames feels like Scarlet monastery with Disney money
Feel like the strat for ranged in the town during the dawn breaker is to literally sit on the roofs of houses and free cast lol.

i think majority of kicks being stoppable tank damage is probably good for the game, but definitely increases prot paladin value a lot since they can block spells and kick so much. I would much prefer that to the current "kick this or your team is insta-dead."
"Finish as many mobs as you can!" immediately target the highest health and highest total health mob...

Yes you can easily move things around and resize hotbars but otherwise that's the base game UI
The second Dungeon reminds me of Halls of Atonement

lol nokuhd or however it is spelled lol, it took the worst part of dragonriding, the traveling from place to place and used only that in the dungeon, which is hilarious... why? what were they thinking. they could have done something cool like a race, where a boss teleports and starts healing and you have to fly some tricky course to get there as fast as possible or something, that would be cool, or having to fly and get some resource mid fight or bomb the boss or something, but just traveling from A to B is silly af.
I did it for about 5 seconds I was in the path in Illinois im just fine went dark for oh 4 min 8 seconds
