Homerun philosophical video. I've been watching you since I got into magic for the first time in mid 2019 because some of my friends made a D&D group and left me out. I sought out something that I could make my own. Since then I've made some of the best investments of my life in cardboard. It's brought me endless joy and infinitely more pleasure than any stock, bond or crypto could have brought me. The number one thing I learned when I got into the stock market was find a great mentor. You have been that for my short journey through the TCG universe. You are much appreciated, and I wish you the best.

You're not allowed to be human anymore. People want relate-ability - except for the bad stuff. You're not allowed to be wrong, make mistakes, have a bad opinion, etc. Social media has completely melted so many peoples' brains it's terrifying

There will always be those who want to attack someone for any reason possible. It's the only way they can find to feel better.
I believe that the first step to healing (and I fully see the contraddiction to be saying this as a reply to a stranger on YT comment section) is to start disengaging from social media. People should get out of that angry cesspool of Twitter. Get out of the conspiracies pot of Facebook. Get out of the ultraembellished life of Instagram. If not 100%, at least one should reduce drastically the time spent there. Honestly I am seeing more and more people among my actual friends and acquaintances (people between 30s and mid 40s) that are leaving SM behind and focusing just on their real-life connections.

I still remember when I decided to go in on Zendikar collector boxes. I seen those box toppers, I seen all the cool modal lands and all the fancy alternate versions of cards in that only came in the collector box and knew it would be a good product to hold. Rudy ended up catching up to me eventually so that made me feel good when he started mentioning all the good points of the Zendikar collector boxes.
These are some of my favorite types of videos on this channel. Where you sit back and let us know what you are thinking about and what's going on around us in the hobby. "An interesting philosophical conversation today with everyone..." around 17:30 and then boom! Heavy wisdom alert. Rudy, thank you for the insight, reality check, and deep thoughts today. It is ironic? Yes, it is. "We're all just trying to make it in the world." ... "There is nothing wrong with trying to blend something that makes you happy with trying to make money." And that's the truth. To your continued success. May you get outside and play.
Great lesson, Rudy. What you said about not leaving a job sooner or being afraid to co tact another company describes me perfectly. I have just been reprimanded for not taking covid tests even though I'm not sick, so they suspended me and put me on a two year probation, in which I can't even get any raises or promotions. I've been employee of the quarter three times in 6 years. I'm staying for the time being to fight for mine and other people's rights, but I'm ready to leave now. I was always afraid of leaving due to the uncertainty, but now I'm ready.
Don't give in. Continue to stand up for what you believe in and your convictions. The only way we win is by staying the course, and pushing back every step of the way. You're doing the right thing, and I'm sure I'm not alone in commending you for it. Stay strong, stay free, and never forget there are many more standing with you.
Doesn't speak of a profound understanding of your best interest what you described. You refuse a simple test and rather get suspended and 2 year probation? How do those 2 things even compare? What disadvantage or negative consequence would you have for taking the test? ...
The community is a ghost that lives in a cave on the side of the mountain, leering down on the 7th dynasty of Rudyland, judging silently until it decides to screech. The vibration causing a cascading avalanche of terror into our souls. That's what the carrot perspective has taught me
Don't you think? I don't carrot all that this view I have of the world from my hole in the ground isn't appreciated by others. Or even that some ridicule me for finding such joy in it. I have it and I enjoy it. That puts me ahead of so many others in this garden we are in. Once in a while I even uproot and look around the other gardens on the block. They look great and it warms my cortex when I see others enjoying what they got.
You do remind me of my father. Just talking about life, and often being dissapointed about others. He also tells me often to do what I feel is right, to live life.

Funny I just heard from an interview on the radio that people loose a lot of opportunities to learn something because when they encounter someone that has a different view on something most people tend to immediately tell someone its wrong in stead of hearing someone out why he has that view and try to learn from it. I think on average I did things pretty good in life but what I learned from Rudy is sometimes you just need to be like a "Blonde" and be very positive, even though it does not make sense sometimes you must just dont do it at the wrong times or when you have a house and children relaying on you and you are basically playing the casino game.
Thank you Rudy for this reflective piece, I started collecting pokemon cards like 2 years ago kind of inspired by your channel that you can invest in items that you do love and in return maybe it can make you some money along the way. I do agree with you that as a society we are becoming more and more distant to the "real'" world and it almost feels like we are in a projected metaverse. That being said these kinds of videos does remind everyone that its not wrong what people are doing to live and you don't know what the other person is facing in their lives so don't be quick to judge as the grass isn't alays greener on the other side. That being said we all need to treat each other better and try to live a regret free life (as best we can).
I don't always agree Rudy, but you have hit the nail on the head with this one. We only have one life, and I find it a lot more fun doing the things I like and interacting with people that give me energy instead of taking mine away. I hope you've had a wonderful day sir!

You at times like this inspire me to really just take the risk . Live and stop worrying and just go for it . Hands down you're a cool person in general . Thanks
God damnit this episode hit me in the feels, especially the last couple of minutes. Maybe the haters are right, Blabla Rudy only cares about himself, blablabla he likes to hear himself talk. But I don’t care. I thoroughly believe you are a good guy. Take care of yourself.
Ah, regrets. But the butterfly effect takes you into a completely different present and there's no way of telling you'd be better off, worse off or even dead! A dodgy store owner stole from me a fair few years back, and I've been very lucky ever since. Some negative things are gifts in disguise.
I just look at a scene's community as the various pieces and configurations of its social experience. Like it's just another feature to evaluate or define a scene. "The community experience". Whether that be sharing ideas, finding players, marketplaces, propaganda, self identity, politics, corners to spend time, whatever. As well as various bells and whistles that show up regularly across different scenes, or how scenes change over time, or change with eras or locations or other metrics. There are real people in those communities. But the space they share together takes on a much more abstract texture. It's all the jostling of neurotics, creating and reacting to the ripples in the pond.
Solid external thought monologue. Watching you do these types of videos made me feel less crazy about having an internal monologue with myself to recollect the recent history and try and learn from it, plus find a good bearing for where I am in the moment. I've now told every person that I care about at least once to stay the course, and to not give up. I've also doubled down on showing people how I prepared for the abysmal place everything is in right now, and how I'm in a position now because of that preparation to grow, and flourish from this new fresh space opened up to me. You helped start a new chapter in my life that has gone even beyond the boundaries of my own life, and I'm eternally grateful that YOU stayed the course, because if you hadn't, I might never have. Thank you.
@@blindey First off I started investing in myself. I've made a short term plan to create a studio for all the music me and my friends want to record, but of course that requires fuel, so I've invested various amounts of value in as many different magic/crypto sectors as possible, especially now that everyone is so emotional about the current state of affairs. It really became a matter of honing in on exactly who I wanted to be, and focusing as hard as possible on maintaining everything that makes that person real. Most importantly, to prepare, I've made these desicions ahead of time internally convicting myself of them, this way when emotional times come for me, I can lean back into that predetermined decision so that I don't make an irrational decision in the heat of whatever moment. An example of this is cost average purchase of crypto specifically. Doing it every paycheck, even if it feels tight. Even if I don't think I can afford it because I NEED this for my future. I hope this helped. :)
@@xulxer9077 Good for you. (I mean that sincerely, not as a sarcastic quip) Sounds like you're employing quite a few strategies to maximize your resolve. Nice. That's something a lot of people don't think about. Not only "What am I gonna do" but precommitting. They depend solely on momentary drive, rather than building it beforehand.
I believe more people are nice and really want to help than that there are bad apples. And I truly can relate to your approach to them Rudy. They might just come from a bad situation or background and can’t find ways to better themselves. The thing is though that if you can’t help them then it’s probably best to ignore them. Remember that (social) media gave everyone a voice to express their opinion for you to absorb. But you don’t have to expose yourself to it and you can choose not to. I’ve been sober from news media since September 2017 and never started with social media. That’s something I will never regret not spending my precious energy on. Enjoy life!

we can always go outside and talk to girls...
Don't ya think?
Thanks, sometimes i go back to the "buys crappy things" video, just to keep myself motivated
Thank you for channeling some Zen and mindfulness today.
6 years of floppy tacos
God damnit this episode hit me in the feels, especially the last couple of minutes. Maybe the haters are right, Blabla Rudy only cares about himself, blablabla he likes to hear himself talk. But I don’t care. I thoroughly believe you are a good guy. Take care of yourself.
It’s like raaain on your wedding day!
Meet the Millers quote, nice one Rudy 🤣
Great lesson as alwais thank you
“I never think about those 100 boxes of mirage. Never! Never once do i think about those 100 boxes of mirage at $145. Nope!” Kappa :)
In a mood Uncle Rudy? Diggin the vibe. I do that very thing and hble myself from time to time. Just sit in the grass.
This video is incredible. Thank you for the inspiring talk Rudy
Here we go again! Rudy pumping the market again

Thank you.
How have you prepared?
@@blindey It helps more then I ever imagined it would. :)
I hope you have a prosperous next 6 years. Edited to add- 8:30 Takes more than that to bug me
Love it when you do videos like this. Real life advice that gets everyone thinking
Enjoy life!
Thanks for the great ramblings papa Rudy
i love these philosophical rudy vids! this is why i signed up for a ride on the alpha investments train! 👊🏻
