I'm not prepared to grant church going Christian enough authority over our Sundays to consider it ironic. Though it is a good dig at their faith. And in my opinion entirely appropriate and relevant. And if any Christian doesn't like to have their bible examined on Sunday mornings, they aren't much of a Christian are they?

Yes I / we all went on Sunday mornings to get brainwashed by our pastor, spew hate on non believers or perhaps wish them eternal damnation as they all in the Bible. Above all now I can save 1O% of my income going to this evil Cult of Jesus, and have more spare time to do good to humanity rather than waiting this ever elusory man Jesus returns.

Me too, though not quite as much as the part after Moses talks to the burning bush and God gives him his important mission, where before he even makes it to pharaoh God randomly comes to kill him in the night, so his wife has to circumcise his son to save him. Of all the passages in the Bible that got conveniently omitted from my Sunday school lessons growing up, that one is by far my favourite. :D

Everything wrong with Genesis was the one good thing to come out of 2020. Oh and my new baby I suppose. No scheduled pregnancies this year but with the new Exodus series, 2021 is looking up. 👍

@@dragowolfraven3806 Not to mention one super-important difference in the story. In The Prince of Egypt, the Pharoah's heart is hardened by feelings of betrayal, rather than God's eekum-bokum magic. Moses crossed the Rubicon by bringing the plagues(or did Caesar bring the plagues by crossing the Rubicon? lol), so it's a perfectly rational response. No supernatural emotional manipulation necessary. God is such an asshole.
The entire thing with the plagues is God showing how much of a douchebag he is especially to firstborn Egyptian males and babies😂

Hemant, you've inspired me. I've been through all the genesis videos you've done, and great work. I'm going to start a similar series, but with respect, I'm going to be starting in the new testament. I have a background being raised as a pastor's son in the Calvary chapel movement, who's tradition is verse by verse expository study of the scriptures. I love your method and I hope to bring my own flavor and style and critique to it. Thanks for being a great inspiration. You have no idea how much I have appreciated your work!

Yep most historians and even biblical scholars now say The Exodus at least the way it is told in the book of Exodus never happened.

Most? I would suggest all serious none apoligetic ones. The origins of Hebrews and their god have been nailed down to the highlands of what was Cannan. No Abraham, no Exodus it is all an origin myth mostly cobbled together during the exile hence anachronistic camels. But Hemet tells it well.
I've seen videos to the contrary; where they have shown, the archeological evidence, of a Biblical Exodus. And they are now going back to Mt. Ararat in Turkey, to reopen the case for Noah's Ark.

Have you actually read Exodus Joy it is obviously complete cobblers, you do realise that, no I suppose you don't; according to the bible time line the Hebrews "escaped" into a land that was actually part of the Egyptian sphere of influence, no oops. In addition it should have taken them about a week max to get to Cannan and the people at the head of the column would have arrived before the folks at the end left Egypt.
Please do not try to defend the Noah story it would be embarrassing.
