Legendary SMASH BURGERS in Taupō, NZ! | Pauly's Diner + Huka Falls!

Pauly's Diner in Taupō dishes out some of the most legendary smash burgers in New Zealand! Taupō is an incredible place to visit whether it be a short day trip or a few nights in town with both natural wonders and thrill-seeking adventures to discover!
No Kiwi road trip is complete without some pies and so we couldn't resist stopping over at Fast & Fresh Bakery Cafe. This spot has won a tonne of awards for their pies which you'll definitely notice because they've got all their hardware on display throughout the shop!
Afterward, we experienced one of the best adrenaline rushes at the Huka Falls Jet! New Zealand pioneered the jet boat in the early 1950s so you know they've got this thrilling experience perfected. Our 30-minute boat ride had us doing 360 spins, insane turns, and maneuvers. The jet boat also get you up close and personal to Huka Falls and I couldn't think of a better way to admire the sheer natural force of the falls than in a jet boat.
The adrenaline build-up also built up an afternoon appetite and what better way to follow up some extreme jet-boating than with some extreme smash burgers at Pauly's Diner! They serve what is reputed to be Taupō's best burgers and fried chicken. Having tasted it for ourselves, I can see why people say it is the best!
Finally, no visit to Taupō is complete without a visit to the famous Huka Falls! It's New Zealand's most visited natural attraction and is easily accessible by a short 5-minute walk from the car park. There are multiple spots to admire not only the Falls itself but also the white-water rapids that lead to the falls. There are plenty of walking tracks too if you have a bit more time to spare. Don't expect your ideal Instagram pic without anyone else around because the popularity of the Falls mean that you'll always be competing for that precious photo space!
