Incredible and heart wrenching! 50 year old horse owner emigrates to Spain and loves her horse's dearly, A horrific accident in a round pen kills her and is not found for nearly 2 days! The Horse's new owner has had a long hard road to save this horse but is at a loss how to move forward. This is why I never ride my horse unless someone else is home. Accidents can always happen, you could be unconscious and unable to ring for help. At least if someone is around they will notice you missing, or notice you didn't come home from the trail ride or wherever. Stay safe, horse people!
Same! I never let my daughter ride without me there and with her phone, air pods or watch!

Very true. Had 17.2 for 7 years in Andalucia. In 2011, was home alone, went to tie a loose leg strap on his fly sheet, his right hind leg as horse fly had been driving him crazy. He was fidgeting so took him in stable . Remember holding the strap......... Next thing I knew , on floor bleeding from face and back of head. Somehow , Duke had stepped over me and was in paddock. My rottie was with me... struggled indoors, not really realising what had happened, but rang a neighbour....lost 45 minutes I must have been knocked out. Ended up with 11 face stitches, bad concussion (my head had made a hole in stable wall). Was so very lucky I wasn't killed..... it happens SO quickly.......

I told my daughter that there is a high chance that I will die falling of a horse.
And it would be my preferred way to die when it is my time.
Fear should never drive my life.
But it is everyone’s choice what they feel is right for them. My daughter is an adult. I thought different when she was depending on me.
Yeah, Yvonne from Freisian Horses was eriously injured when riding alone. She thankfully recovered and is soooooo lucky.
You're a good man Steve. Cameron is a beautiful horse. I don't believe the horse caused her death. He's nervous. Not aggressive.
He might (most likely) not have attacked her but even a panic reaction from an animal weighing hundreds of kg can easily cause deadly injuries in to us

I lived in Orgiva for 13 years it's not far from where she lived.
I know Rach would be so happy to see him doing so well,I thank you from the bottom of my heart for going to see him. It made me cry watching this! I have some photos of him when he was with Rach but I can't seem to post them on here.

I had to cry after reading your comment, as I really had the impression, that Cameron must have had a deep connection with Rachel - may she r.i.p.- and that the accident and her passing away must have been a terrible shock for him already, loosing "his" person. Worse that he was considered a killer. Such a luck for Rebecca and Cameron, that Steve could reestablish some confidence in both, so they both have now a new base to build up a more trusted connection to each other❤.
Do you know what exactly happened to Rachel ? I think it would be of interest to everyone from a learning standpoint. May she be resting in peace 🕊️

As a pro trainer of over 50 years I learned long ago to make sure someone else was always present anytime I was working &/or riding horses because anything & everything can happen in the presence of horses.
Anyone who actually is lucky enough to "know" you, Steve, is blessed. What a wonderful human being you are.

I really don't believe he said it out of ego or to get praise ...I believe he just wanted to let people know that he does every once in awhile help when it is so desperately needed but they cant afford his charges ,this is how he survives this is his job... and when he has to fly and drive a long way and take his time and experience to do this he just wants others to know that he does it for emergencies because after all he has to pay for everything out of his own pocket for another and these days its a lot of $! Be kind and don't preach to people about what he should or shouldn't of said on his channel .Also God is rewarding him and blessing him everyday to be there and to help with the gift he gave to Steve so that his beautiful creations (The Horses) and their owners are getting what they need , So Steve is always blessed by God !

He looked so shut down poor lad, I think you’ve given Tina the confidence to move past all the stuff that went before and he’ll thrive with more engagement and movement, mentality and physically, I’m sure Rachel would be proud
Very sad story but what a wonderful woman to save this glorious horse. Steve working his equine magic again.
So tragic what happened. After watching this I am so confident this horse did not intentionally hurt his owner. He has such a sweet and obedient temperament. What a horrible accident. Thank you so much for being there to help. Rachel would be so grateful for all Becky has done. Horse owners please remember that these are huge, powerful majestic animals that can severely injure or even kill. Be aware and follow proper handling and safety procedures, always letting people know what you are doing.

I can only think of one way that Rachel could still have been physically attached to her horse, foot through the stirrup? I am not trying to be morbid, I want horse people to best learn about how to avoid dangers. Rachel did an exceptional job of training this lovely horse, Cameron. I am so sorry that they befell such a tragic accident. And thank you, Becky, for rescuing Cameron into your loving home. As always, Steve delivers his healing leadership.

I’m guessing the original owner fell off with her foot caught in a stirrup. Then he probably panicked and she got knocked out and couldn’t survive whatever other reactions he went through. It’s every rider’s nightmare. I felt the deep sorrow as soon as the video started. Very emotional. The poor horse carried that awful burden. The new owner has nursed him back to health beautifully. Bless her and Steve and Tanya for advancing the healing with this wonderful visit. I predict both horse and owner will now thrive. It’s reminder to work with my horse around things dragging from his stirrup, to chill out if it happens. Be safe everyone.❤️🐴
Yes, the poor horse carried that awful burden. It looked so terribly loney as it stood eating hay. It did not look at the people who came. Animals understand and feel. Then it is good to have wise people who also understand and feel.
A story of a horse that killed his owner or a story of a poor horse that happened to be attached to his owner when she died and remained attached to her body for 24 hours and was blamed for it all.
Either way, we have to be realistic adults about it and I love how you guys moved on together from this

You can see by Cameron's demeanor and by how far down he went after the accident that Rachel loved and cared for him the last thing she would have wanted is for her beloved partner to be put down over an accident would have been the last thing she would have wanted. Most accidents are just that a accident. Shit happens. Thank you Becky for having the courage to save Cameron for Rachel. A friend in need is a friend indeed. There is so much to learn. Thankyou Steve, Rachel and Tanya. What a shame if this horse had been put down. And thankyou to Becky for being such a horse lover and having understanding.
A beautiful horse and beautiful human, out of such tragedy they have come together, I think they are going to be fine. Rachel will be able to rest easy knowing her horse is in good hands. Steve, you have played a huge part in giving Becky the confidence to go ahead and have a lovely life with Cameron.

It is a sad story and I wondered if his previous owner had had a heart attack or something, nothing to do with the horse!! I’m sure an autopsy would have shown cause of death.
Having said that, what a great horse he is. Quick to pick up commands and very gentle. Can’t wait to see updates and look forward to seeing her riding her. It seems to me that Becky just needed to be given confidence in what she was doing. Well done Steve
My thoughts exactly. How sad he was nicknamed the killer horse if what really happened was natural causes, and they were actually enjoying time together peacefully when the incident occurred. What a sad situation 🥺😢
I do believe that if she had died of natural causes the story wouldn't have been "horse kills owner". Steve and Becky are so upset at this death (and the real fear) it shows the horse must have done something.
@@ragathnor326 The owner was somehow attached or entangled in the rope for days. That would make people THINK the horse did it. But if the owner died suddenly and the lead wrapped anywhere, and got drug around for days it would LOOK LIKE the horse may have done something. I agree with the others. The owner dying may have had nothing to do with this horse.
I encourage people to search for the died suddenly groups on Facebook so you know what is really happening worldwide.
@@ragathnor326 I'm not sure you can draw that conclusion that the horse did womething. if she had died while attached to him and not found for 24 - 48 hours - of course it would have looked like the horse did something. He would have not been able to free himself and would have been very distressed and confused. . You can see here his nature is sweet. He could have fallen onto her . Similar thing happened on Fresian Horses with the girl - an experienced horsewoman in an indoor pen - no one knows what happened including her but she was found very quickly and ended up in a coma .. if not found quickly she likely would have died..
@@kazzj62no, a dead person does not pump blood. Therefore a trauma after death would look different than a trauma that is the cause of death. The horse killed the woman. It might have just got spooked and was not taught to respect space.
Steve: Didn't they do an autopsy? As someone suggested perhaps the accident had nothing to do with the horse. What a dreadful experience for the horse to have a dead body attached to him for two days. A truly tragic event for all concerned.

I'm Spanish and normally when there's an accidental death or the discovery of a body, there's a judge alongside a forensic who go to the place and determine the cause and time of death. I know it because this was one of my dad's duties as a judge for one decade. He's seen it all. The forensic examines the body, registers and explains to him and the police the cause of the death in situ. This information usually is confidential and only disclosed to relatives. Before you put your judgement over us, perhaps we would need to know first whether this information was ever disclosed from the authorities or it was a mere mouth-to-mouth blabber among locals. Plus, some English-speaking expats living in Spain actually don't understand or speak enough Spanish to ask or receive more complex information than asking for food even if they live here for decades. I'm not assuming it's the case for the people involved in the video so no shade to them. But this could've happened too.
In Spain, reports from autopsies can only be given to authorised relatives, unless it's a case of particular public relevance, where certain information can be given to the media. If this poor woman didn't have relatives living in Spain, there's no way anyone around could access this information.
Not only a dead body but the dead body of someone he loved. When Steve explained he developed abscesses and stomach problems and started dropping weight, that’s such a SCREAMING evidence of trauma. Glad he’s on the mend now, what a horrible thing to live through.

I can vouch for keeping Your head away from over a horse’s head. Autumn evening, was giving my young mare a brush down and it got pitched dark before I got done and was ready to take my bucket of brushes and go. Went over to pick it up, not knowing she had put her nose in there to sniff the brushes. Bent over, and next I was flat on the ground. She got startled and I did not see her in the dark. Next day I had 2 black eyes and the experience to always bring a flashlight when going out before dusk. Lesson learned! ❤️🇳🇴

What a moving story. I am lost for words as to how Steve is able to help troubled horses after a tragic event that happened. Feeling quite emotional but happy at the same time that both owner and horse can build on Steve's incredible help. It is so uplifting to see how Steve communicates with horses and can give owners hope for their future together.
❤ Some humans have a natural Connection to Horses, as Steve has. As a child I & my Uncle who was a paraplegic from Vietnam war Absolutely Loved Horses! But he didn't let his wheelchair get in the way! He married a Beautiful woman who let him enjoy his Love for these MAJESTIC creatures and was in the USA Womans Western Pleasure Circuit! My Uncle Became The Master of Ceremonies! And Then he started training in a sulky and wagons, he to Won many awards and Trophies! I'm so Proud of what he accomplished and giving me the opportunity to fall in Love with these Absolutely Beautiful Animals. I too have the Magic! Every horse farm or stable I Worked for asked my Mom who taught to her to ride? My Mom said would you believe she never had a lesson. My Sister and I had permission from an old pony farm next to my uncle's and we jump the fence and just climb on and ride. No reins or saddles. Just held lightly on mane and my Legs and balance just seemed to do what they needed to do! ❤ But don't do this alone! I was the 4th born of 6 kids so We were Never alone we had Each other!! ❤

Beautiful horse, so kind, especially after all he's been thru, I cannot imagine standing for 2 hourdays in the heat, attached to someone who's passed away, he must have thought he'd never get out of there. And then to leave his home, be so ill, it's amazing that he's not a complete wreck. Respect to Becky for believing in him. I'll bet he's going to be a simply amazing horse for her. I was thinking, too, that he looked like he was happy to get back to work. It was great that you noticed he was still a bit weak in the left hind, so it wasn't quite time for a rider. And I love the "Act like it's no big deal;" works with horses, children, & it's how cats handle everything!

I had a horse, off-track thoroughbred, who was very barn shy. I would try to simply walk him down the driveway and could barely get 50 feet with him. I remember the whole time wishing that I understood what he was experiencing well enough to help him through the fear he felt. Wishing that I could be a leader to him, so that he wasn’t so scared. Watching you with this horse made me remember my Charlie-I wish I had known back then what I have learned from watching your videos. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I have read many of the books that you talk about; Monty Roberts, etc. But I needed to see it in practice before I really understood.
I feel the same, wishing I knew more when we had ponies and horses. I know they were happy, but I realize how ignorant I was about some things. It was a happy, busy time in our lives and our children, through Pony Club and showing learned responsibility and to be good workers.
He's such a lovely horse,it would be hard to imagine he was responsible for his former owners death.

I love Steve's commentary when they had to stop on the way to the finca - "we've stopped, we've got a bit lost....we just got the directions again....but, wow, look at where we are!" 😊
He is so in the here and now, enjoying what good comes his way. I suspect that plays a lot into why he is so successful with the horses.
I will never get to own a horse, and probably not be able to ride one, either. But I will continue to come and watch the videos.

Poor horse probably loved his owner dearly, she obviously trained him well that has carried over to his new owner who has brought him through his grief, She brought you to him so he knows she was getting help for them both. Cameron will be the best horse anyone has ever owned. It was an accident I'm sure, he just didn't have any trouble giving authority to any of the Humans that were there. Poor fella.
I think he will be a much happier horse when he gets back to work and makes new memories. He still looks so sad. But I think he's going to be amazing. I don't know obviously but I don't feel he did anything malicious, it was probably a freak accident like so many of us have had but she was alone, that's never the safest thing to do but many of us have done it. May she rest in peace. And may these two have many years of happy memories ahead. Great work!

I watched it to the end - the hat! It was truly a learning experience fur Tina. The Dog Whisperer would say he trains the human, not the animal. As soon as Tina acknowledged what she was so worried about had nothing to do with the horse's behaviour, but her fear, she just got it. What a sweetheart Cameron is! He really seems to want to connect with humans-the way he offers his head to be petted is so kindly. What a gentle horse, and so smart and willing! I wish Cameron and his new owner many safe, happy rides together!

Beautiful country, and that hotel. How lovely. My uncle had an Indian training, a morgan mare, and he was found dead in the barn with the horse. She wouldn't come out of the corner of the barn. It changed her. She became the best horse he had. I have rode her numerous times and a wonderful girl. She is even great with other animals and kids. You just never know about a horse. We can only assume it was an accident.

I was wondering if the woman could have had a heart attack and got caught in stirrup or rope? We don't know how she was found other than she was still attached to the horse. Imagine the horse couldn't move without dragging the woman?? The horse could run away turn freak out?? We weren't there. Maybe a horse psychic ? Is there such a thing? Horse speaker, whisperer? Indy There are people who can “hear” horses, even remotely. We all communicate on an energetic level, but few are those who can receive and convey messages. There are many books about animal communicators.

I don't think it really matters if if was the horse's "fault" (which off course it wasn't, they don't have malicious intent). What matters is moving the horse past it to a better life

What a tragedy, and a stark reminder to all horse owners never work with horses alone or ride out on your own. I see so many young riders riding out alone, it’s really not wise.

In an ideal world we would have a buddy when we feed, muck out paddocks, do groundwork, ride out alone.
If I waited for someone else to be nearby, my horse time would be cut by 99%. It is a risk we take and
the most important aspect is the ability to read our horses state of mind daily. And of course always have
my cellphone on me every time I am around my horses.

I remember one horse that the rider was smoking and hot ash hit the horse and the horse bucked the rider off. The rider hit into a tree trunk and died. The horse was retrained the trainer told people not to smoke around the horse it was in a barn fire. Horse ended up a nice quiet riding horse.
Emotions can transfer from human to human, human to animal and animal to human. I saw a pony who had been loved to bits by her young owner and the girl died in a machinery accident. The pony was, for lack of a better word, heart broken. The girl’s father took his anger and grief out on everything including the pony and sold her. She has been sold on twice since and was a mess when I saw her. Nervous, sensitive to touch and just keen to be independent. I’m a body worker and begun pure hands on healing with this pony. About 5 minutes in her adult owner was crying just from standing 2 meters away. I had a lump in my throat that I knew was from pony so could deal with that. I didn’t know the back story then. Owner had no idea why she was crying but it’s all release. It’s possible that’s been happening with this horse and owner and your leadership released it for both during that transfer. The science says it’s about brain waves and heartbeats. Horses have slow hearts and brain waves and a huge awareness bubble that is also the field of transfer. Have you ever watched herds standing 10 meters from each other yet totally aware of what the other herd members are doing? Women can also pick things up in their children from 100m away. They know baby is awake sometimes before anyone hears a cry. Sorry for long comment. I felt you should know this if you didn’t already. Your leadership helps just as many people as it does horses in trauma release.

Aw, this poor buddy. I'm moved to tears. So grateful he has you, Becky. And, thank you Steve and crew for making the huge effort to get him moving forward on this new leg of his journey. I’m astounded people wanted this gorgeous horse put down. How ignorant considering no one really knew what happened to cause the accident. No way did that horse do anything intentional to cause his owners death because you can tell he’s a sweet, kind, intelligent animal.
You are truly a wonderful person Steve. There aren't many people who are truly selfless, and caring. Especially at your own expense. Your love for horses truly shows. I love how you will do everything you can to help each and every horse. You have been able to help the horses others couldn't. Horses who's owners had lost hope. I really admire your work. I love that Steve is ambidextrous when it comes to driving on either the left or right side of the road! So impressed. I love that I can watch your adventures before and after your equine work. I like that you mention to people that they have a choice to skip ahead or not. I like living vicariously through you and Tanya. Love, love, love that there is another horse in the world experiencing a new lease on "life". Rachael must be beaming in heaven!!!!
Sometimes I think people hold on to trauma much longer than animals do.
I like what Steve did here, he started from the beginning to see what Cameron was comfortable with and moved forward from there.
Aah such a shame, poor Rachel and poor Cameron. I am so sad for all concerned and of course you couldn’t give advice by message, the responsibility would be too great. I am so glad you took this on Steve.

My take is this . WOW that Cameron would even all on there human near him is incredible to me ! After being attached to a human dragging them around for 2 days is bad enough but the smell of death? WHOA ! Such a sad situation that has come full circle to trust and confidence again .. I feel he had confidence but the triggers he had to overcome were hugeTHANK YOU Steve for building this horse up to getting over great fears

The event of a horse killing a person on purpose is almost unheard of,,I think its safe to assume that it was a sudden and and extremely unlucky fall , ..but an accident all the same,,,,,beautiful boy,,and Bravo Becky for getting help ,,and loving him so much..

What a wonderful horse - I can only imagine the trauma he suffered on that dreadful day. Poor Rachael - but I suppose she died doing something she loved, and I think Cameroon is now being rewarded for being so special. He's very thin, I thought he seemed quite hungry - which may be a good sign, that you relaxed him enough that he found his appetite a bit - here's hoping he's putting on weight & muscle now & Becky will soon be able to ride him, & they can be very happy together and move forward into a rewarding Future.
Do love the Sierra Nevada, lovely part of the world, although a bit too hot for me in summer. Glad you both enjoyed a successful trip.
In the beginning of the training portion, Steve mentioned that due to the extreme heat there, the grass doesn't grow as well, so it lacks the nutrients it would in a different region/climate like in
the UK - with lead to Cameron's thinness.

I know Rachael can RIP now, knowing her boy is in a good place both mentally ( S.Y H. ) and physically with Bec and her loving family after you have ironed out his last few issues whitch were keeping him stuck. Im sure Bec can keep building on this and get Cameron back under saddle and out on the trail with or without his buddy by his side. 🤠😇
He seems like a really nice and respectful horse. An accident like this only goes to show that even the nicest horse, who would never intentionally hurt anyone, can be extremely dangerous.
Beautiful video. I love how you never look in a horse's eye but keep your eyes on the feet, keeping pressure off the horse's mind. I'm always just blown away by your compassion for horses and the people that love them. God bless. And also keeping the moving flag always in front of you by turning and making the horse follow you! Brilliant job … well done Steve! Not only have you both continuously demonstrated your sensitivity towards horses but you’re also like wise extremely compassionate towards people, as well. You both are very caring people and such good examples of being down to earth, decent and caring. It’s always a pleasure being with you guys.
By the way, I think all those spaghetti westerns were filmed in Spain … at least the ones with Clint Eastwood. I still remember my pre-teen years and going to the matinee and watching the Good, the Bad and the Ugly, for a quarter … and being able to watch it two or three times back to back. I also recall seeing To Sir with Love there as well!
I think you had it right the first time … Cameron, Rachel and God knew what truly happened on that day. Everyone else can only speculate what they think may have unfolded. It’s very unfortunate what transpired on that fateful day … but sometimes only God is privy to His plans.
What a beautiful country, Spain is. I thought you guys were there longer than six months … must have been a very enjoyable time though. I can see the attraction you would have for such a place.
Becky’s place was absolutely beautiful and breathtaking … quite a set up they have … it’s definitely very reclusive. One would have to be the kind of person to live in such a place, being so far out. The husband sure had a lot of motorbikes … didn’t he?!?
I’m sure Becky will make out just fine with Cameron and I agree with Tanya, in that, she just needed a confidence booster that she was going down the right road, with him. Be nice if they sent you some footage that you could share with us, of them out on a hack.
I really enjoy seeing a bit of Spain too … I’ll probably never travel there so nice to see how others get on around the other side of the world. Tanya it seems like you just need to stand outside for all of five minutes and you’ve got a tan.

@@fleetskipper1810 Spaghetti westerns got their nick name mostly due to having an Italian director. In actuality, I think they filmed some of Eastwood’s western movies in both Italy and Spain. The outside scenes were more than likely shot in Almeria and Tabernas Desert, which are both in Spain. But then again, I could stand to be corrected. 😂

This horse is great, catches on fast and just needs an owner to put things behind them. Move forward, it happened and we can’t change it. I’m glad Becky got it out. It’s nice to have a horse person come in and change the atmosphere. Should have been sooner, but it is what it is. Great video showing how feelings can hinder.

I don’t think he killed her. I think she passed while riding and he had to deal with that for 2 days +. How awful for him. Trauma 😢
After such a tragic event, it was so heartwarming to see Cameron with a new caring owner. Steve, you were right not to ride Cameron. He was far too weak. Hope he puts on more weight and muscle soon. Cameron's new can put the past behind her, and with her new skills can make Rachael very proud of her horse. Thank you for everything you do for horses and their owners
