I mean from a Manga perspective it makes a lot of sense. The main character is going to be drawn the most, might as well make them simple and easy to draw.

Passion at the cost of their own life without salary compensation. Besides the budget clearly went to random people , and there are other back ground characters here that lack in depth drawing features in the series. The waitress is an exception
