- We're doin' it! FINALLY! We're tufting an actual rug in todays video! I drew the cutest ghost with sparkle eyes & we tufted them into a real life rug!! I'm still amazed lol I showed you all the start to finish process of how I made this rug! Let me know what you think of the cutie rug!

Omg thats so fluffin cute!!! Love the pumpkin...just make sure tho, if you used acrylic yarn, or any fiber not cotton, it doesn't melt the fibers...would hate for your adorable jack to melt :( I LOVED THIS VIDEO! Please do more tufting...I'm also currently obsessed!!

That is SO cool! 👻 Hang it from a gnarly tree branch, then hang it up on the wall! Your cat won't be able to do bad things to it and it will last forever. Also, don't forget to date and sign the back. You are doing a great job!
That ghost rug is seriously adorable 😂 I can't get over it I really want to try tufting now!
It would be interesting to try what I've see some people do. They use the sheep shears and specifically shear parts shorter or longer than the rest to give slight texture differences. It would be cool to make the background, the eyes and mouth and the black under park shorter and let the stars and the white part of the ghost really stand out. Idk if that's possible with tiny details like in the eyes, but it's a cool idea in my mind lol This was very relaxing to watch by the way. Loved it.

Fabritac by Beacon is my HG glue for textiles. I learned about it in college in millinery class. It has a strong smell but it dries quickly and then the smell is gone. Your ghost is fantastic!

Heather!! How could you walk on your rug? I know it’s a rug, but I’m surprised you stood on him😁 even though it was in your socks, I thought you would display him on the wall cos it’s your 1st & he’s SO cute!! I thought you would have chosen dark blue for a nighttime background but this way he matches the jackalantern trivet. A set for your kitchen. Love him, but he needs a name. ❤️

It is such a cool process! I have never seen a rug be made before! I have a suggestion for a future rug, what about a beach scene like you have done with resin but instead of resin use your tuffting gun! Beautiful job 👏 👏👏 💜

you could try contact cement for adhering the backing, it still stinks a little bit but not after it dried. loved that cute ghost!!

My friend uses a projector to trace his images onto the fabric, worth investing in if you wanna keep doing it! I love this

It’s always really short TikTok’s and like those are cool but I want to see the full process. So this is great because I just love the way you are. Can’t wait to see how ghosty comes out. 👻
Go to Michaels or Joanns and grab some yarn you can use the regular acrylic yarn sold there Walmart carries yarn too!! Colorways would look amazing

Ive used headliner adhesive spray for everything ever since I learned about it when changing the headliner on my car.

Girl, try to make the free hand design in pencil, a dark one (I guess a B6 can help) and then go over de design with a marker so you can see better. Might help while you don't have the projection thing. =)
Before your videos I didn’t know tufting! Thank you for sharing your journey with us. Now I’m having all kinds of tufting questions! How many kinds of yarn are there? Can it all go in the wash? Oh! And projecting an image…That’s a great idea! ❤️❤️❤️
There are many many kinds of yarn (think of all the yarn craft out there... knitting, crochet, weaving, etc) but they can definitely NOT all be washed. Most acrylic yarn can be, same with cotton but anything wool (unless it’s superwash... but even then I’m leery sometimes) should not be washed in the washing machine, bc heat and agitation cause felting.

I love watching your creativity blossom girl! I actually asked for a set of rug punches for xmas and have been teaching myself as well. I have 2 notes for ya: the Roberts carpet glue stays tacky for a while, which allows you to spread glue and use said glue to help adhere the monks cloth to the glue (edges) and then using that same glue, you can use it to help fuse your carpet backing. Most folks who create the waterfall edges as you did have to use hot glue around the seam edge so don't feel discouraged with your ghost! I'd love ideas for backings as right now I went the super economical way of using foam bath mats from the dollar store and cutting them to fit. If we were friends off of this platform I could send you pics to show you what I've used so far. I've made 4 rugs since xmas and I'm also addicted (I feel like a tufting gun is my next evolution). Keep up the great work!

I love it!! I can’t wait for another one. Are you really going to get sheep shears? I was going to tell you I saw a guy use them and it looked “easy” to do (maybe). Using farm equipment for crafting seems a little out there, but it may make the tufting journey more interesting! 👩🏻🎨 + 🐑 = tufting goddess!!
