- Leather craft gets in your blood. Whether it's tooling a saddle or dyeing a belt. We take pride in crafting something by hand, and testing new ideas in the process. Tandy Leather wants to recognize quality, handmade work and the stories behind it. This story comes from Don Gonzales of Don Gonzales Saddlery.

Ive always wondered, Don... This was an awesome little video! I know that this is a Tandy-made bid, but I am sure that you probably still get the comments to you somehow or another. I'm really glad that they did this. Folks, especially younger men and women, need to see this type of art medium, and know that there is a huge market for leather toolers, and small Ma and Pa type places that are really good at this, and can make some serious money if they're good. Like the Chopper scene... Going to all of the Bike shows like Sturgis, Daytona, any other Bike week-the function, all through the summer and then going to a place like the SEMA show in Vegas... Damn! There are a lot of places to market your skill-set, and people LOVE the good work. People LOVE one-off designs. It's great! You were the first person that I learned anything from.. your CZcams videos taught me a lot, and I still go to your channel to learn new stuff or processes. Your great! Thank you! and thank you, too, Tandy! You guys provide a lot of us with the tools and knowledge needed in order to move forward!
Well I love watching your show and I am in QLD Australia, Michael
Great video
I have been doing leather work for about 4 years and learning along the way. I have used olive oil on finished product and no good. What do u recommend for veg tan finish. I'm going to start to dye, but want natural. You have taught me a lot and thank you
How cool it would be to come work for such a great leatherworker! 😍 Let alone just to come see the shop and meet Don!
Thanks Don, really great what you do and we sure appreciate your instructions 👍
Great interview and a great craftsman. I can see why he has done well!
Don, you are a rolemodel. Inspiring all the way to Norway! tnx! keep it up!
Your basic drive for education has served you well, you are a role model for the young ones coming behind you and before you know it you will be the old fart on the block and there's nothing wrong with that I know because I are one . Happy trails, really enjoy the Video's we are never to old to learn .
