- Luk Yu Tea House is more than just a Michelin-recommended restaurant famous for its nostalgic dim sums and Cantonese cuisine. It has been serving up tantalising tea and delectable delights for 90 years, and champions the preservation of traditional yum cha culture. Exuding antique elegance, the tea house is one of the few remaining Lingnan style buildings in Hong Kong and also home to the priceless works of Chinese painting master, Chang Dai-chien. The relationship between the employees and owner makes for an even more interesting story. As for its dim sums, the chef pays particular attention to the freshness of the ingredients in order to preserve authentic flavours. For example, he insists on using top-quality pork liver for the pork liver shumai. The menu also includes many other renowned, mouth-watering dishes such as stir-fried pigeon with Chinese ham, fried goby with ham and vegetables, and deep-fried chicken with glutinous rice.

Luv the traditional Chinese decor.
This programme is excellent introducing Hong Kong for tourists and for locals to understand what we don't really have the opportunities to know better ❤
Our family immigrated from Hong Kong to the US over 50 years ago when I was only a few years old and we visit Hong Kong every few years to see relatives and eat the good Chinese food. We had heard about this restaurant, Luk Yu Tea House, and decided to give their dim sum lunch a try during one of our visits a few years ago. Even though we arrived early, at around 11 am and the entire restaurant was almost empty, we were directed to the third floor because we did not have a reservation. All the wait staff was very rude and did not pay us any attention because we were not regulars. We found the dim sum to be good but definitely overpriced. It was the last time we went there and we vowed to never go there again. With so many good restaurants in Hong Kong to choose from, why would we want go to a restaurant that does not want our business?
Your experience is typical for a non-regular customer. I heard of the arrogance of the waiters and never dare to go there.
@@nicolechan4301 I guess with so many regulars, they don't need our business or our money.
Kudos to this host, who is both eloquent and elegant!

字幕又英文😢
Mediocre at best in terms of taste. Price is stupid . Preying on the high end white collars who doesnt know any better. There are other in house dim sum making restaurant that have better tasting dim sum than them . I feel like this is a paid advertisement.
