    Girl you will love being an MA everyone is different but I love being an MA but a lot of us will usually turn to be a RN but I’m going back to school to be an RT I feel being an MA helps so much to grow later!!! My favorite to work in is pediatrics it’s definitely not for the weak but seeing those baby faces and watching them grow was really a reward!! Good luck wishing you nothing but the best ♥️

    I thought that if i become an RN, i would be set, but the reality is being an MA, i feel is perfect for me. I started my MA journey in 2014 by earning a Diploma. Phlebotomy was also a part of the program. i loved it. I was successful, then i hit an obstacle. In January 2023, I decided to make a comeback to the MA scene and now i am working on my associate degree in medical assistant. I plan to get my CCMA cert and CPT cert (Phlebotomy). The object is to add different things to my MA resume to create several paths.

    Heyy, love the vlog🥰 are you taking the CMA exam or RMA exam?

    • @erincostello101
      @erincostello101  Před 2 lety +1

      i am going for the CMA exam upon completing my program. you are recognized all over america as a CMA, & as a RMA you aren’t all across the USA; only certain states.

    • @ericawoods545
      @ericawoods545 Před 2 lety +2

      @@erincostello101 Actually the RMA is a national certification. It’s accepted in all 50 states. The only difference is the certifying agency and the eligibility specific requirements of the medical assistant program you’re doing.

    • @erincostello101
      @erincostello101  Před 2 lety

      @@ericawoods545 really? i know they do have two different certifying agencies. but, i learned that the both the cma & rma are awarded, but some medical institutions only recognize the cma & tend disregard the rma.

    • @ericawoods545
      @ericawoods545 Před 2 lety

      @@erincostello101 That just seems more like a preference thing. There should be no reason to completely disregard an RMA when it’s a nationally recognized certification. It could be the area. For instance, I live in Los Angeles and as long as you have a certification you’re good. It just has to be by a well known national certifying agency, so they say CMA, RMA, CCMA and sometimes list the agencies next to them in the job description because there are different type of agencies that certify for the CCMA and the CMA and they’re not the ones you think (NHA and AAMA), but by a completely different agency all together, which wouldn’t be good.

    Tips for someone wanting to start?

    • @erincostello101
      @erincostello101  Před rokem +5

      hey girlie 💕 i say js jump right in! & that’s to whatever you want to do in life. find a school that works for YOU. meaning if you want to go in person, find a school that offers that. if you want to go online, find a school that offers that. i am a visual learner so i js knew i needed to be in an MA person that offered school in person. know your end goal, memorize it, write it down and think of that and reflect on it when you lose focus or you have challenging moments during your program.

    Hey girl I’m really interested in doing this Medical assistant program but the cost of the college I’m looking at is roughly $24k how much did
    You pay for yours? Should I keep looking for other options pls lmk! 😓

    • @erincostello101
      @erincostello101  Před rokem

      i actually didn’t pay out of pocket at all for anything except my scrubs, pens, book bag, etc. i completed my fafsa & my school actually paid me to go to school, about $40-$200 a month depending on how many classes i had. i have one loan form school that i won’t start paying on until 6 months after i graduated.

    • @mariaa6600

      @@erincostello101 consider yourself very fortunate. I applied for fafsa and they would only cover 9k the rest of the 24k would have been paid by me.
