Miami, Florida Has Some of the Worst Drivers Ever : Bad Driving Compilation

SdĂlet

  • čas pƙidĂĄn 30. 01. 2023
  • Miami, Florida is not known to be a place where drivers respect other users on the road. In this compilation, I put together some of the worst offenses and dangerous situations I've encountered. Drivers are notorious for passing too close, tailgating, changing lanes without signaling and aggressive driving. On Interstate 95 especially aggressive drivers can be extremely challenging to deal with.

After moving to the San Francisco Bay Area from Miami I could not believe how courteous the drivers were in Northern California. After a while I realized that it was the South Florida drivers who were so angry and aggressive. It's like they hate their lives and want to make everyone else miserable. I'm thankful that I don't have to deal with that any more.

I moved here 6 months ago
am a car enthusiast, background in professional motors posts (someone in my family had competed in a full season of Factory backed spec series in the EU, worked with Red Bull EU on special projects, rubbed elbows with some of the top in Le Mans and Formula-1) in other words; I ain’t a granny driver. That being said, I truly believe there’s a complete lawlessness going on down here in SE-FL when it comes to driving in general. I have seen School busses speeding 25 over the limit, then running full blown red lights! I’ve seen people on a 4 lane intersection making illegal left turns - from the center lane just, just because. Have seen people passing me on the right, on the grass because I was going the speed limit - with a police car right in front of me. The person passing me cut right in front almost read ending the cop, while the cop did absolutely nothing. I am ready to move back to civilization like, RIGHT NOW, unfortunately for family reasons I must stay a while. I am thinking, I will just join in, become full blown Florida man, drop my IQ to room temperature will be able to blend in just fine lol! If you can’t beat them, join them!

I live in Miami and it’s indeed really stressful to drive around because of how people drive so bad, people do not use turn signals, they are speeding and rushing all the time, brake suddenly in front of you, cut you off like they own the streets, barely stop at a stop signs and sadly even many official vehicles like the police do not use their signals when changing lines. People drive like crazy sadly law enforcement do not do nothing to educate people, I just visited Colorado and man what a difference people are so educated behind the wheel 98% of drivers always use their turn signals and they do drive very respectfully around, the way it should be.

It is true as a native Floridian , our state Florida has some of the most aggressive and worst drivers in the state, people here always like to blame northerners and other out of towners but nearly every wreck ive seen is by a native Floridian FACT! I wonder why they are so aggressive and inconsiderate? They never let you in when trying to switch lanes, tailgate, NEVER use blinkers (what am I supposed to guess where they are turning or switching lanes?), little men with jacked up trucks with black smoke coming out. I figured being near the Ocean would be a laid back vibe but it's opposite the way the driving is around most of FL.

I was in Orlando for a week and Floridans drive on a crazy level, they simply don’t follow traffic rules, cut you off randomly, road rage, not let you change lanes when you signal, make illegal left turns, etc. Oh’ and stopped in the middle of the road with no driver in it. We almost T-bone a car that was trying to make a last minute left turn on a fast traffic straight line 😱glad we stopped in time and didn’t hit them
we honked them like crazy and they just didn’t move until a few minutes later.

I have driven in just about every major city in the USA, but South Florida has the worst drivers by far! I live in Lauderdale and commute to work down in Miami 5x a week. Just one trip from Fort Lauderdale to Miami, you can expect your average commute to be like this:
    1. People know they are supposed to be in the far right lane of US-1 for at least a half mile in order to get on the 595; however, people will drive up to the last possible section of road and aggressively try to get in and cheat those who have waited patiently, or they will just pull up at the end and expect you to let them in.
    2. You can expect a backup of traffic as soon as you get on I-95.
    3. If they are signaling, that means they are just using their signal as lights to go with the beat of their music. If they aren't signaling, watch out!!! That means they will cut in front of you at any moment!
    4. Semi-trucks and other slower vehicles will occupy the supposedly faster left lane of the road, further congesting the interstate.
    5. There will be at least one, but typically more crashes between exit 22-16.
    6. Exit 16's exit ramp will have a line of traffic at least one mile long and one of the two exit lanes will be blocked by an accident and emergency personnel.
    7. Between exits 16 and 14, traffic is at a crawl. Yet, people will weave in and out a dozen times and still only be two cars ahead of where they would have been had they just stayed in their original lane.
    8. Those coming off the Florida Turnpike will expect you to let them go from the far right lanes all the way to the far left in bumper to bumper traffic so they can take the express lanes. Most likely, one or both of the express lanes are already closed due to an accident, yet they take the express anyway and then they will go over the plastic poles and either cause or nearly cause another accident in the process.
    9. There will be a stalled vehicle blocking a lane somewhere between exit 10 and exit 6.
    10. Throughout the trip, motorcycles will split lanes and drive the line swerving in-between slow or stopped vehicles.
    11. Exit 3 is much like the beginning. Everyone knows to be in the right two lanes for about 1.5 miles to get on 836, but lots will go in the regular lanes then aggressively cut you at the exit point.
    12. You finally arrive near the work destination and realize you have to endure this all over again on the way home in just 8 hours.
