So many pro cyclists have learned this lesson the hard way, it's so odd it keeps happening.

She looks left, sees Vos and knows at once. Marianne perfectly times the throw, which isn't easy, but she is Vos.

She just never looked left and saw Vos coming. She looked right and saw she had a clear advantage -big mistake cost her the win.
Wiebes checked on her right hand side before celebrating without realizing Vos was at her left. She had a clear gap at the right that's why she got excited and celebrated early. That sucks..

What a great finish to watch. I have been so impressed by Wiebes' fitness this year. She's been fast for years but she is really climbing well this year with the same dominating sprints from past years. She has so many wins in her future, I'm sure she will look back and laugh at this missed opportunity years into her bright future. Kudos to Vos. Add another win to the winningest female ride in history; she has the longevity of Chris Horner and winning dominance of Pogacar. I personally would have been happy to retire as a pro cyclist with my career wins that she makes in one average "Vos year".
