Shafaq's back story does not JUSTIFY her acts, it EXPLAINS them. Just like a poor person committing stealth is not right, it's still a crime , but you can understand the desperation. We have to restrain ourselves against our wrong temptations in all circumstances, that's the whole test of life.

Mushk has a brilliant start. Loved the episode. All the characters are interesting in their own way and the story is intriguing.. dialogues and performances were fab. Momal Sheikh expressions as Mehak were on point. I am curious to know how Mehak Shayan separated and why he is in jail..my favourite scene has to be the Mehak Shayan scene. Great chemistry between Momal Sheikh and Osama Tahir.

Mohabbat Tujhe Alvida is ridiculous. I don't care whether they copied Judaai or a folklore or whatever but it's the lamest script ever. And if a Bollywood was made on this story then it makes even less sense because Hindu law doesn't even allow a man to have two wives at the same time! Even if people become second wives then it's for social acceptance and has no legal standing. Bad story. Bad acting by Sonya Hussyn.

Prem gali and GPM are both good for comic relief but story wise I think GPM seems better and different.

Another extremely fun scene in Prem Gali was when the three boys in the muhalla are trying to smoke and Tau Hidayat comes walking. And the one boy says to the other "Inko b koi kam nai hy. Sara din phirty rehty hen gawachi gaan ki tra. Ghr bethen is umar me!"

    • @2010kainat
      @2010kainat Před 4 lety +12

Why such show should not be played? It could be better written with a different angle showing how Pakistan’s culture and society have lead people to act this way - because it DOES happen... I am pakistani born in France but I do have a big family in Islamabad/Rawalpindi and being married with a pakistani born there, my “connection” to the desi culture is stronger than my siblings.
I would definately show things I have noticed for years - some people don’t have limits and don’t understand family relationships. It’s a muslim country but still I see, hear and witness things that would never ever happen here in foreigns countries. Why? People do talk about moral a lot but when you look at what they do, there is a huge gap.
Seriously, who hasn’t seen how women and men are flirty in Pakistan? The “aunties” trend is real, affairs with sister in law or brother in law are real... and I often feel it’s due to a general frustration... things that are not allowed are attractive...
I don’t visit Pakistan a lot but I have been also a diplomat there for couple of years and to be honest what I have witnessed there on moral point of view just shocked me while I am a parisian...
So, again, I think every kind of topic could be depicted but it depends on the writting how you do it to convey a positive message and bring awareness.
Anyways, that’s a very long topic and can’t be enterely discussed here. :)

About MTA, I agree with Hassan. Even Ulfat, she seems grey sometimes, although she also has a reason to do what she is doing (poverty or whatever). Her poverty of course doesn't justify what she's doing & we can feel that the way she is being portrayed. But as for shafaq, the fact that they keep on telling her backstory again and again shows that they are justifying her which is a big big fault.

Guys, i have a question - did anyone else feel that the writing in Mushk was a bit problematic, structure wise? I love the intriguing storyline n the amazing direction n i love imran ashraf. But as someone who is an avid reader of both Urdu n english novels, i felt that the writing (the dialogues, word choice, sentence structure) was overly flowery, unreal and even dramatic at times. It felt as if someone was trying too hard to sound poetic and in command of high-level urdu when actually they are not.

Raz e Ulfat: There came a scene a couple of episodes ago where Mushk was being dismissive of her mother, her rock when I think Irtiza had told her that he was going to come and get her to introduce her to his mother's friends, but Ismail was getting married that day so Mushk's mother told her she could go after the Nikkah was read. Sehba walked into her house unannounced because the girl has no respect for Mushk's boundaries, and Mushk leapt to greet Sehba immediately after snubbing her mother and sister as if to rub it in their faces. Mushk is eternally grateful to Sehba for introducing her to the fantastic life that led her to Irtiza, so if she had to pick Sehba or her dad, she would pick Sehba in the blink of an eye. Mushk has so seriously injured her parents' trust and relationship with her, that if her mother whose face falls every time Sehba prances in, was to warn Mushk that Sehba is a snake (parents know the fake friends before we do), Mushk would chalk that as another example of her parents resisting change and ignoring their daughter's happiness. Mushk doesn't have many female friends and the one she does have, she has learnt to lean on for girl time she needs away from Irtiza every once in a while. Mushk always greets Sehba like she really looks up to her, for example, that scene Sehba walked in on Mushk's engagement. Her dad finding an excuse to storm out of the drawing-room did not shake her spirit. Irtiza ordering Mushk does not help alone. She does not have a lot of reason to remain steadfast because she does not know the danger that lies ahead. She is weak and eager to please, saying no Sehba continuously is hard for her especially since Sehba is adamant and comes with a plan to take Mushk down. As for Mushk's dad, what does he know? He's narrow-minded after all, and unromantic. It all boils down to Mushk not knowing why her parents do what they do, it's a dull path and she has her way out with Irtiza constantly forcing her to choose between two families.

In the start of that drama his acting was not really good but after that he has proved himself as a good actor as well in Udaari, Teri chah me, Is dil ki aisi ki taisi, Suno chanda and now prem gali and no doubt that he is a BRILLIANT sinbger and one of my top fav singers. His voice touches the soul. De Ijazat Jo to is also a great drama. You should watch it although you may not like it in the start because of the acting but the story and everything else is good. You guys did roast some dramas that are also pretty ridiculous- you watched it and then decided on the show with the audience that you will not do so anymore. I think with Zebaish you may have decided offline

Jalan seems like an inspiration of a hum tv drama ‘main deewani hun’ in which Sania Shamshad played the main character who used to get obsessed with her young phuppo’s fiancé. When she finally gets engaged to ‘Fahd Mirza’ she looses her interest in him and moves on to someone else. They portrayed it as a psychological disorder.

I wanted to ask Aamna; when you reviewed ishqiya you spoke about the fact that you weren’t a fan of Feroze’s grey character and writers should make characters more distinctly right or wrong, and now that they’ve done that in Jalan & Kashf you’re not agreeing with the writing. Please explain your view. Thanks (huge fan btw 🤗)

I agree with Aamna. Shafaq isn't his responsibility and if she actually threatens suicide it falls under emotional blackmail. He did nothing to make her think that he likes her..no false promises were made etc so he can't be held responsible for her actions at all

Loved prem gali and Mushk this week. Kashf needs to pick up the pace. Muhabbat tujhe alvida is not meeting the hype and jalan is just bad. Raaz e ulfat very slow and not much happening, can stand Irtiza or Nomi. Muqqadar good, but Sslllloowww. Great review Hassan and Amina 🥰

Also, Amna you have to agree Hassan is such a polite person unhon ne aik bar bhi interrupt nahi kiya during prem gali in fact he encouraged your excitement. 😊
Btw I absolutely loved Prem Gali ... so refreshing and for the first time a fun drama with zero negativity and depressing/repetitive stories after a long time. Mushk is awesome too, complex and well written. I feel Adam(Imran) is shown as a pure hearted, educated and religious person which I liked. Who says a religious person can’t be modern and not ride horses. So yeah loved that bit too ‘coz often in our dramas they show that rich people are not religious and only poor people are which is absolutely not true. Also, loved the vintage touch in Mushk. Thank you guys for the awesome review !

In MTA i cant understand the character of ulfat.Mushk is such a good drama i hope it remain as good till last episode. I can understand hassan that it is so difficult for u both to review all the dramas. Do not review if u are not willing. By the wayAmna's dress is wao.
