I got my first food truck last month (June2022). Me and my wife are a great duo, she loves to cook and I love to eat and entertain people. LOL. We both have passion for this business.
I’m a month in and it’s this video that makes me not give up right now, just got my first spot at a mall for two months, just waiting for the city permit now. 🙏🏼

I've never been to the US, but these kind of stories really make me soooo damn curious about visiting! He seems like such a cool dude, down to earth, real, honest. That's exactly what I really miss supporting in Germany because there's not a lot of food trucks around here, let alone with that backstory to it, ambition and soul.
As an American, I have a good friend who's British-Canadian (dual citizen) and grew up mostly in the UAE while going to British schools (his dad was in the oil industry) and first came to the United States for college. He's told me a number of times that the most "American" attribute he's been able to distinguish is that we're an "extreme" people. He thinks we tend to do most things hard-core and we're generally a very extroverted culture. I kind of agree with that and find it to be an interesting insight, though obviously it's still a generalization. Basically, this guy's just a hot dog salesman, but he does it with pride, creativity and passion. Tulsa is a mid-sized American city, not quite a "major-league" town, though it would probably still qualify as a big place in most other countries. It's small enough to still have a pretty tight-knit community and if you can hustle, it's a bit cheaper to do business there than larger cities near the coasts. I've been there before and while I wouldn't want to live there (hot, dusty climate, smaller oil-based economy, really conservative Bible belt culture, etc.), it's the type of place that's a good representation of a lot of places around the country, especially in the middle of the country.
Hope you get a chance to visit the United States someday. Though our major coastal cities like New York, LA, Miami, San Francisco, Boston, DC, Seattle, etc. are all world-class places I would also recommend going to places in the middle of the country like Tulsa as well to really get a fuller understanding of this country. We're a weird, wild and wonderful place filled with crazy characters and colorful personalities. Come check us out! :)
There's not a lot of food trucks because there is a not a lot of demand for cheapest possible Walmart toiletpaper hotdogs

Back when this guy had his cart, he'd set up in front of Cain's ballroom. Once he was especially excited (I think 311 was playing in the venue) and throwing hot dogs high into the air over his shoulder and one landed in the open window of a passing car.
Cains and The Pink Eye have caused me to make many a trek from Okc up to the 918 . Good times in Tulsa

@@pavelow235 Agreed, once you have everything then you lose that passion in life. Life is all about winning every problem, obstacle and getting what you want through hard work. I personally know a few rich people that aren't happy with their lives so they do drugs and lots of pointless things.
It's people like this that I have a ton of respect for. They work their asses off for everything they have.

That's because all the dogs are the same ... just different condiments. The only thing he makes himself is the chutney - doubt he makes his own tomato, bbq sauces or chilli sauces. Buns and hotdogs are bought and just heated up lmao you can do this yourself at home ...

I've only been into Tulsa very few times (when visiting with fam in Sperry) and never knew nor would have known until now. Definitely will check it out next time I come out to visit with the fam again.
At least Tulsa is cool and fun, unlike Oklahoma city. That place sucks.
There used to be a "craft" dog place in Houston when I lived there some 8 years back called _Moontower Inn_ over in the warehouse district near that - at the time - new soccer stadium.
They may have had a mobile truck, may still be around, no idea; but if you're in Houston and like to try interesting takes on a dawg, Moontower is your place.
Craft dawgs appear to be taking over Nashville Hot chicken as the new craze in LA too (at least in the valley; the new residence)

He reminds me a lot of my dad who was in the same business here in the UK for 30 something years, it doesn't matter how hard things get you just gotta buckle up and get it done. We live in a world right now where people would rather give up something hard and purposely live the unemployed life its embarrassing to see.
