  • Checking the front axle fluid is a step overlooked by many and can lead to early failure. I would highly recommend you check it when you first get your tractor as well as after a few hours.

    My brother, your content is alway helpful. Every time someone touches our channel about the 3560 I always recommend they come here and check you out. I seriously thank you for the detail you put into your episodes so that I have the confidence to take on the maintenance of piece of machinery I am unfamiliar with. I hope the folks on our channel are, in fact, coming over to check you out. BTW, not for nothing, but I was literally just greasing up the tractor yesterday when I spied the front axel check bolt and wondered why there wasn’t a zert there so I could grease it up. Tomorrow I’ll check my fluid level…

      Thank you so much for the kind words!! I like hearing that the content I’m making is useful to others. As you know, it takes a lot of time and effort to make videos and it’s nice to know it’s not for nothing.
      You’ll have to let me know about your axle level.

    Very important fact! I just did a complete rebuild on my L35 front end because the previous owner ran it DRY for Lord knows how many hours…. it was limping and locking the front end gears and the owner thought it was a transmission problem…😮…. Always important to stay on top of that check list!! Keep up the good work!

    Checked mine after 10 hours on my L4701.......Nothing from check plug, so I filled with 80-90 Lucas gear oil until it started to drain at the check plug. I'll check again when I do my 50 hour service. Should be good now. Thanks for the video and reccomendation to check the level.

    I checked my front axle at the 50 hr service, it was about a quart low. I went ahead and drained the axle during the service, the oil was clean and didn’t notice any metal in the oil. I serviced it with UDT2 and drove it around in my pasture and then rechecked it the following day having to add less than a quart to get it to flow out of the check hole. I believe operating it after the service and rechecking the fluid levels is the only way to make sure that you have the correct amount in it.

      Very good information, and I agree. The machine definitely needs driven around for a while and rechecked. Thanks!

    I saw these videos on front axle case level and checked it at 57 hours on my l3902. Mine was 2 quarts low on a 4.8 quart proper amount. My dealer is working well with me. They will drain the oil and inspect for excessive metal in the oil and take the proper steps from there.
    I think Kubota should include in the manual a formal check or two of the front axle case oil level at a very early hours of operation. The manual states to only change the oil 800 hours not checks are required.
    Thanks for posting the videos.

    Just had a Kubota L2502 and the hydro fluid was below the lower level line on the dip stick

    My MX5200 is just over 12 hours. Next time I’m on the farm I’ll check this. I’m confident it will be okay as the dealer we bought it from was very good. Their mechanic was finishing off fitting a hydraulic remote when we visited. He was very skilled and careful with his work.

      That’s awesome. It’s good to hear you have a competent dealer. Stop back and let me know when you have time to check it.

      @@JaredsShop hi Jared, I checked the oil level in the front axel. The tractor was parked on a slight downward slope as not much land on my place is flat. Anyway a slight amount of oil was coming out. So it should be fine. The tractor is getting up to 40 hours so the first service will come soon.
      Thanks for the advice on this video.

    I love your tractor videos and especially the 50 hour service guide. I have the same tractor and extremely happy with its overall performance.
    One question I have is in regards to your lights. I made one mistake when I purchased my tractor and did not negotiate “unlimiting” it with the dealer to add front and rear work lights. Have you created a video on how you installed your cab lights? If not, that would be another extremely helpful video for the amount of these tractors hitting the market.

    • @JaredsShop
      @JaredsShop  Před 2 lety +1

      Thank you so much for the reply! I have not but will be in the near future. I am missing some footage for it so I need to take it back off and record more. Keep your eye out.
      I love my tractor too. It’s such a stout little sucker. Not too big, and not too small.
      Here’s the light I’m running up front.

      That’s awesome. I really appreciate it. I pulled the covers off the pillar and found the wiring harness but don’t have a manual to identify which ones are the correct factory wires. I found the pigtails on the rear corners but can’t find them in the front. Taking the roof off makes me extremely nervous.

      Do you have the switches for the pillar?

    I recently checked the front diff fluid on my new L3902...very very low! Needing 3 quarts to fill it up....hoping it didn't hurt anything using it for 18 hrs.

    • @kdegraa
      @kdegraa Před rokem

      I’d inform the dealer the tractor was purchased from as tractors sold by them should be properly prepared. This issue should be documented in case there are problems with the front axel in the future. However it should be fine in the longer term .

    How would you determine an over-fill?

    • @JaredsShop
      @JaredsShop  Před 10 měsíci +1

      There’s a side plug. Remove it. Fill the axle until it starts to flow out of that hole. You’d have to leave that plug in to overfill it.

    what happened to the r4 tires?

    • @JaredsShop
      @JaredsShop  Před rokem +3

      I have another video where I talk about moving to these. While driving around my yard in early spring, I was leaving very bad cleats. If I continued to run R4 tires I knew I would have to stay out of my yard most of the year. I live on a hill and my yard is not especially wet by any means, the tractor is just fairly heavy. I also knew I was going to start seeding yards and wanted to ensure I left behind a nice smooth yard when finished, so I moved to the Titan Multi Trac turf tires. They’re pretty awesome.

    • @simd510
      @simd510 Před rokem

      @@JaredsShop going to search for that video. I may be interested in getting turf tires as well. How much did the tires run you if you dont mind me asking. And did you need to get new rims?
