Borderlands 2: Farming a Perfect Legendary Sniper- but no class mod

- In this video, I farm for a legendary Ninja com from Tubbies out in the Dust. I chose to farm Tubbies in the Dust because that also gives me a chance to get the legendary Vladof sniper, the Lyuda, as well. This weapon was called the "White Death" on Xbox.
I am actually able to find my desired build for this weapon in a great element! This will help greatly when we are going to be dealing with Terra to try to get a good Hide of Terramorphous.
I am farming for a Legendary Ninja class mod, albeit unsuccessfully, so that I can begin to spec and gear this character for Melee builds.
I am using the Borderlands 2 Community Patch:
mentalmars.com/game-news/bord...
I am using my legitimate Zer0 built as a part of the Journey to 100% series. That series can be found here: • Level 1 to OP 8, no gi... - Hry
How do y'all manage to view a video the literal second I post it?

Man of Low Moral Fiber we gangin
You're my favorite youtuber. The only one I have notifications on for.
We're making sure you're not going out to get a pack of smokes like last time.
Doing this farm gives you a guaranteed tubby. Her name is Ellie
lol
HAH
Gg wp
She is an ultimate badass tubby+chubby child.
You know you’ve been watching a lot of MOLMF when you hear him narrating in your head while driving
“We’re going to turn left here, but first we need to wait for this car. And it looks like he’s actually turning right. So that’s a good thing.”
"So we pulled up to this red light. But then it changed to green, and that was good"
kinda read that sentence in Bob Ross's tone idk why.
This was hilarious. But it's also the reason I like watching him.
Elycius for sure! I’ve been watching his Zer0 legit playthrough for the first time, and his commentary is great. Definitely didn’t mean it as a knock against him
"Cool."
The Good The Bad and The Mordecai is the quest name.
I've always thought they missed a BIG opportunity to have DLC or whatever for the weaponsmiths of pandora. These legendary people make the weapons that rule the waste and we never get to meet any of them, except for tourge.
they wouldnt even need to add new places, they already exist. Jacobstown, the Dahl warehouse, opportunity for Hyperion, raiders place where you save roland from for bandits, idk about maliwan though, maybe just from marcus or somthing. i feel like it could be super intersting and easy.
Jackobs is on eden 6. Maliwan on promethea.
Hyperion was on Pandora
Vladof... no idea
Bandit... no idea
Atlas also has its own planet
Probably my favorite video of yours
I would 100% show up for a stream of you farming different items or doing a play through of a charecter with you just talking about random stuff
Nice driving man ;) love the videos, excited for the next episode!
Glad people STILL play BL2
Kravon Johnson ofc man
Still
black coffe 🤣 after 2 years
@@OnlyKravon lol🤣
Still playing. Grinding tubbies sucks.
it makes me so happy that fmlom is making videos again. i just got bl2 a couple months ago, and i learned a ton from his older stuff. btw i got all my zer0 coms by save-quitting the dust, running out the front gate to look left and right for the tubby. took a few mind-numbing hours though.
then i spent literal days in the beatdown looking for a cobra (6min/run but never found it) and now i'm done farming unmodded drop rates.
i agree with your solution, and also great video dude keep up the good work brilliant as always.
"I myself, think that the lottery is a tax on stupid people." My word, I haven't laughed so hard in a good while. Thank you for that. Side note, you are imo one of the best commentators I've heard.
I really love these Ideas of you. The Idea with changing the parts is one that I had aswell. It would be really cool. It would have to be really expensive though.
I love how suddenly excited you become talking about that Austin Powers scene.
It's honestly one of the funniest things ever.
Loved the Pokemon card story :D And the Austin Powers scene too!
I was watching your 100% playthrough series slowly and it helped me to learn how to prepare my sniper zero for every situation.. very educational, now I love my zero more than ever thanx to you :)
You sound much happier Luke, keep it up.
*After hearing your experience with and opinion on Pokémon*
You had a subscriber. Now, you have a friend.
The reason Lyuda is so great is that it's a no-gimmick, no-bullshit vladof-barreled vladof sniper with tons of nice bells and whistles. It's really great because it gives you a way to farm consistently for a better version of a purple weapon. Even if Lyuda doesn't have any special effects and it only has its base stats, i think people would still farm it.
A way to combat RNG is to have increased odds. Basically the game would have a certain pool of enemies that has a rare drop. The game then should keep track on how much you have killed them, then the odds of getting a rare drop would slightly increase with each kill.
I know that would be a nightmare to code, so a solution i came up with is that, instead of badass ranks, you should get an achievement when you kill an X boss certain amount of times, and the game should reward you with an increased drop rates (for example, kill gettle 10/20/50/100 times and get increased drop rates for each milestone). I think that would be WAY more convenient and rewarding than stat gains you get from badass ranks.
The Friendliest Penguin From Antartica the Lynda does have a gimmick in that it has multiple projectiles. But I get your point
Yeah at least it's not a shitty gimmick like Godfinger or Hawkeye, or even the Elephant Gun.
@@chilunja8442 yep, but that gimmick reward you for using it in the right distance (3 shot split but stick close together)
And when the enemy are too far or too close, it doesn't matter since it have decent DPS to take care of them
Quest line is "The Good, The bad and the Mordecai"
Good point on swapping parts.
Love your vids man
Was farming for some pimpernels while watching this and about an hour before i started watching, only gotten 2 with a matching grip and both the same element
Bro still watching and enjoying this content, and your thoughts! lots of improvements they definitely could have made!
you should really check out the community patch com's. the legendary grenadier for axton is one of the optional substitutions, also you should check out the flayer...it's so amazing and it's a optional replacement for the tide shotgun.
I like the weapon bench idea. Having something to do with money come end game (other than using it to buy ammo) would be great and this is a decent idea on how to do that.
great vid!
Hi to let you know there are mods that do up the rate of item drops is called the better loot mod. there also a mod that lets you get class mods for only the vault hunter you are playing as is called the no wasted coms mod
Lol everything you said in this video sounds pretty legit to me and your gripes are definitely not just your own...some of us just don't have the time not to mention the expected patience that this game demands from you when farming for specific things for specific characters so I definitely feel your pain bro...farming for shit definitely is a test to/for your nerves/patience for sure
man you just got a world drop from a spiderant, that's rare af
Looking forward to seeing your Legendary Trickster build. You should mod in and show us.
When you were talking about drop rates at around 13:00 and after, statistically every time you do fight a boss your chances for the item you want to drop goes up the next time you fight them.
I would recommend farming tubbies in the first area at the arid Nexus badlands. Very fast farm and relatively high chance of tubby spawns.
Being able to modify your guns would be pretty cool for the next borderlands
Great idea using eridium to modify weapons. I would actually love to see that. You need to get with Gearbox and give them your ideas.
the Dahl sight is a QD mount, no tools needed
Nice video, getting a weapon drop with the part you want then swaping those parts with high eridium would be pretty good, seraph crystals could be pretty hard to hoard. Ofc depends on how much you need for the job.
Eridium would suck tho cause u can only hold 500
I feel like 10 crystals would be a good price to pay to change one weapon part. Maybe scales with rarity.
For the part replacement, maybe it could cost, whatever currency the next game has, but also you need trade in other guns that also have those parts.
For example: Want a Vladof scope on the Lyuda? Trade in a sniper that already has one.
to fix droprates i would make a vault hunter's relic that actually works
So over the past couple of days I have spent hours farming tubbies here, my best luck came from the black queen area, and yes, some of the tubbies will spawn in second and third waves of enemies. My farm was a little quicker because of gaige and norfleets.
I sometimes farm Tubbies in the Arid Nexus Badlands because I'm certain there is a less variety type of Skags than there are of Spiderants.
An easy fix for specific loot would be elemental tubbys each one drops specific loot per the character you are playing
The increasing drop chance system your talking about could be similar to the alpha pack system from Rainbow Six Siege except instead of winning a game, killing a boss would increase your chances of getting a drop instead of getting a alpha pack
My favorite tubby spot is running backwards from the Natural Selection Annex
How do you do the thing with 100 backpack items and set all the loot to op8? Can't find this in my Community patch...
Back then when I didnt know any better when i get a legendary i thought it was it then i found out that weapons have speicifc parts that add a different dynamic to how the weapon behaves, matching grip, prefixes and so on. Then I got obssesed with the idea to get the perfect one and it takes days to get it and few hours if you are lucky and ofc you cant farm forever coz its boring not to mention you can get 2 levels or 2 OP lvls lower than your current level and its a hassle so I do agree with the customizable or modular weapon for borderlands, like the game "Crysis" but as you mentioned have a specific vendor or NPC that allows you to destroy a weapon for parts and so on.
But farming is something that has stuck with people i guess tbh these days i just gibbed my stuff coz i personaly find it fun but farming esp with friends is really fun AND theres a certain feeling that you get the thing you are looking for, awesome. The thrill for the drops adds some form of comedic value in my opinion. Esp for youtubers and streamers. Its also an incentive to kerp playing thr game I guess. But with all that said borderlands is a great game and I cant wait to see what borderlands 3 has to offer.
Also when the borderlands 2.5 mod comes out i hope youd try it asap hahaha.
Hemaxhu has a More Chubbies mod on the github. Combined with LightChaosman Varkid Overhaul, Hemaxhu More Animals on Pandora -- Tundra Express and Caustic Caverns gives lots of tubbys. Although multiple Ultimate Badass Varkid and Vermis (plural, as in I've gotten 3 Vermi in one run of CC) can be a bit much to deal with.
How about unlocking parts to guns when they drop? Like if you get a fire lyuda to drop, then you can modify any lyuda to be fire. If you get a vladof scope, than you can always modify the gun with a vladof scope. This requires you to still farm, but still allows you to modify weapons.
I prefer the loot system from the first Borderlands. You outlined perfectly why this game preys on my OCD so hard.
Tubbys spawn all over the map, try spawning in from Lynch wood or friendships.
I think he’s right there be a part swap mechanism and the drop rate thing. That would be cool but hopefully they put that at least in borderlands 3
I think that they should ask you if you want to enable part switching at the beginning of each playthrough like they do with selecting OP Levels
Did the Good, Bad, Mordecai mission this morning (Level 69 Zero) in UVHM and got the Gromky Lyuda dropped without having to farm it.
I like that drop rate buff idea, but I'd really like em to do two things:
integrate some new weapon mechanics where you can go to black market gunsmiths that will take your weapons and change its weapon element for you.
Some features for this mechanic so that it isn't ridiculously easy :
-it takes time for you to get your weapon back
-it takes a combination of the rarest currency (eridium again maybe?) and an accessory you can get from killing a tough enemy (for example, dunkino's mom's claw. Hyperious' helmet). Make all accessories a 100% drop chance, and make the accessory random every time and make it take up a backpack slot
And in addition they could add (you touched up on this) factories for each gun manufacturer throughout the map of the game where you can bring in your guns to change gun parts. Each manufacturer factory can only use its own parts (i.e vladof factories can only put on vladof parts on your gun for you) .They could also add the extra layer and add a mechanic where you have to collect and different gun parts before you can try to go to these factories and change parts.
But yea that's my take on it
I'm watching along while playing BL2 in 2023 and I def thought of the Austin Powers scene at that moment 😂
I would definitely like to have pseudo vault-hunter specific "farm zones", higher difficulty dungeons scattered throughout the game which are not required to be cleared in the story. So say you wanted some gear for Zer0/any sniper or melee build, you could go try to take down a company of assassins or something. There could be a few mini bosses with their own assigned rare drops (a sniper, a roid shield) with the big boss dropping a blue/purple Zer0 COM every time with a good chance of a legendary COM as well.
I love the incremental drop chance increase idea you suggested
Also enjoyed your pokemon story. Please don't hold back from stories like that.
Please do skullmasher farm video! I have no idea how to do it, Mothrakk keeps dropping shit through the floor :(
Got an op 1 ninja on my zero while watching this right now. Im switch to pc soon for loading time and save issues soon. Hope u still play!
i completely agree they should add the drop rate guarentee but the thing is it wont give you the element you want everytime and it wont give you a perfect weapon/class mod everytime youll still farm it just wont be as boring and draining
I feel like adding a part scavenger would be best. Say you can take one part off the wep but then its destroyed.
Everytime a badass spawns you have a chance that it will be a tubby
I spent an hour of my life watching someone farming in a game which already had a save editor.
So dont worry you are not the most boring guy out there.
I think that we should be able to only swap parts between weapon variations we have. Got multiple infinities but with different accessories? Scrap infinities for their accessories to equip to another infinity. No parts obtained from infinity could be used for other weapons and vice versa. I think that would be better than just swapping between other weapons.
I think a parts bench put into a late DLC for the next borderlands game would be fine, but no parts seller. You have to farm the weapons and only like levels can be interchanged, then you still have to farm which is the core of the game.
What I would really like to see in bl3 is an introduction to auction houses. Players can place items in the auction for a certain price, weather be it money, erdium or any type of currency they choose. With that players can buy their weapons they wanted really bad and like Luke said, the players whom sold the item for Eridum or whatever, they can use them to do more valuable stuff, like customizing weapons or other cools things he mentioned. I think that would be a really good idea, what do you guys think?
cant believe you still playin borderlands 2 im gonna now
You should try farming tubbies at the arid nexus badlands, look around at all the skag spawns they all have a chance to spawn Tubbies and you could kill Saturn to try and get the community patch invader too
FromDarkHell made a mod that makes the catapult technical the default
If you are planning on farming for the bee again use an e-tech launcher. It will agro the boss through the wall so he will jump down to you.
A weapon scraping system would be cool, so instead of money you can scrap parts from weapons and get blueprints for the parts that you scrapped.
Warframe vibes
That's like what I was thinking maybe have to sacrifice another on level version of the weapon if it's got the part you want on it . Would make use of shitty drops too
I think that weapon modifications would be nice if it was limited to the same unique weapon, for instance swapping parts on a pimpernel to any other pimpernel. Maybe have some requirements on level as well so you can only swap parts between same or similar level items. That would let you farm at the very least 5 versions of the gun with the parts you want to make a completely perfect pimp (stock, grip, scope, element, accessory) and that's much more reasonable than the 1/3500 chance or 1/700 chance ignoring scope.
I love your ‘+1% drop rate every five kills’ idea. Take notes modders
If you shoot your vehicle you can activate your kill skill so you can run a little faster in your runs.
The gun bench is something i wonder about aswell, the game is so heavy centered on weapons that it only makes logical sense to people that actually shoot, and understand guns.
I just chalk it up to lack of vision, or inability, probably they either didn't have the time to make it into the game or didn't even think about it.
I would also love to see your gear master fiber, what sling , what secondary what scope, please do a video at the range or showcase the guns.
Lmfao dude that scene in Austin Powers is very relatable Hilarious. 😂
Tubbys can spawn overall in The Dust. But very rare spawn.
There are unique enemis that has not assigned drops. Just assign some pearl drops to them. Or just assign everything to BNK3R.
Wow first walk to the front and I find a lil tubby waddling towards me. Now I feel worse, 2 tubbies in the same run
They need a shop that lets you use cash to break a weopon in pieces, and then put the desired pieces back together for iridium. You store the peices you want to save until you have all the parts you need to build a complete gun.
the increased percentage for farming is a good idea but i think it should cap out at 50% because it balances it a little bit, if it was 100% than it would just get incredibly boring
I wouldn't be opposed to being able to edit a single part of a gun for some kind of cost.
If they were to introduce a parts changer. It would need to swap parts not change and cost a unique currency/material I.e. Eridium or something like that. However it would need to swap parts not change and you could only swap with guns you already have. Same level with leeway of 2lvl. Same rarity and type of gun. So Droog to Droog. Pimpernel to pimpernel etc.
Richboy Fiber has a Scar-17 irl, ggs.
Now that you got the sniper and not the tubbies. Try Firestone (where Saturn is), they're plenty of skag. No need to kill them all, Tubbies always spawn first. Run around the area where there's skags and you should find them quicker than here.
Also I wait til night to farm..better odds of tubs and queen to pop..sometimes get lucky during day..
Miss ya MOLMF
What about mashing items together when you get two items that both have different individual parts you're seeking for, and then also including separate consumables that can raise the drop rates of certain items or just an all around drop rate booster consumable that could be purchased for Eridium or Seraph crystals???
Terramorphus may be a hard farm for a specific item, but at least he is a garanteed spawn. Like you I am farming Tubbies for a new Zer0 Class Mod and it is very frustrating when you do 10-15 runs without a freaking Tubby.
The amount of times I’ve had a cool gun, not even unique and it’s had a scope/sight I didn’t like was unreal. Honestly wish I could’ve had a nice sight or choosing the sight I had on my guns.
Can we get a video about how you tweak stuff in the community patch or even just a quick tutorial in a video
imho, backpack size has always been an issue in the Borderlands series.
I like the idea of the chances adding. But maybe you could turn it off, for a legit playtrhu.
I am not against weapon modifying in the game but I am afraid it will take away the fun I have to farm a specific weapon
I'm thinking about a middle option still.. and with your second idea do the bonus drop change reset on drop ?
Today I was actually doing the same farming and found three tubbies in one run so it is possible
Since BL is a very self-aware 'gamey' game, I think a special merchant that can detach pieces of the guns would be fun. He could be a junker or something, taking the rest of the gun while you get what you want. It'd be a choice whether you want money or gun parts. Then you can pay him to switch the pieces you want to switch.
Edit: Oh shit, you literally said exactly that when I finished typing.
The mission is called the good the bad and the mordicai
What if instead of raising the drop rate, you can use the Golden keys to use a legendary make a gun machine where you can use a a seraph crystal type currency to choose a legendary at level with you with the specific accessories? I think this is the best choice. What do you think of that?
What if that part swapping NPC could only do it with pieces of a spare gun you had. For instance, let's say you have a Gromky Lyuda with a jakobs grip and a zammechat Lyuda with a vladof grip, that you sort of scavenge the zammechat for the grip and put it on the gromky version. That way it still feels like a grind kind of, but you take a lot of the guesswork out of it
Any animal spawn(for animals capable of being funny) can have a tubby. Anywhere Varkids spawn, the Varkids can become tubby. Any skag, stalker, or spider ant spawn is capable if spawning a tubby.
As far as i know, tubbies are always spawned immediatly. So what i mean by that is that if more spiderants are crawling out of their holes, they can't be tubbies. Tubbies will always be directly spawned when the map is loaded. At least thats what i heard. Maybe someone has more insight than me, then please comment.
Manuel M. I have most Tubbies spawn at the end, where The Black Queen spawns. And they can spawn whenever, because I always spend a few minutes in that area, fighting everyone. And sometimes a Tubby spawns as the very last enemy there
Legendary Cat 😂 just what I need
