Dead ringers is one of the best films of all time and definitely Cronenberg's best. What surprised me most is how moved I was by it. I was sobbing by the end. The repetitive call for Ellie near the end absolutely crashed me. Cronenberg himself has said in an interview that someone told him that this is mostly a sad film and I totally agree. It's devastating more than it is disturbing or anything else for that matter.

Wonderful! I'd no idea about Suschitzky despite being a Cronenberg fan. My total bad! Someone whose work has delighted me again and again. And yes, I think Dead Ringers is a truly great film and genuinely underrated. The Shore main title always makes me weep genuine tears. Haunting beyond words.
