  • If your heels come up during squats, these stretches may help!
The tibialis raises I include here aren't usually included in ankle mobility routines, but I wanted to add something to strengthen "both sides" of the joint.

I'm back to work from being a bit sick! I hadn't gotten sick at all in several years, so I was a bit surprised. Some sharp-eared listeners may notice my voice still sounds a bit funky in this video.
I have to say... it's not fun being inactive and watching my analytics go down. Will be working hard to answer your questions, do the MOST for you, and help you all thrive and be happy as best as I can!

Russians do this squats as well, but I think you guys do it more often than us. In Russia only a certain part of society that's used to being outside does that, because Russia doesn't have that many places to sit if you're walking in some old neighborhood lol. But when it comes to Asian culture, I've seen Chinese squatting everywhere lol, even if there are spots to properly sit nearby

You should also stretch your calves with bend knees. when stretching them with extended knees you mainly target the gastrocnemius, because it skips the knee joint. Thats also the reason why it doesnt limit your squat depth, unlike the deeper calve muscles it wont be stretched in a deep squat because the bending of the knee shortens it

Some people just have different limits and ranges they can reach. We're all made different and we just need to adjust our exercises to our individual differences. These rules aren't always applicable to some people and just require some adjusting, so people shouldn't always take these rules as the absolute truth. Maintain saftey of course however.
