'Things have gotten a little out of hand' could just be meta commentary on James's entire channel at this point.
So true.
And I like it!
And we’re all here for it ❤
And not only do we get this, we can also look forward to the Hames Joffman version❤
*career 😉
FTFY
Thanks for having us James!
You guys did great! Thank you for being apart of this delightful nonsense.
We want more of this funny stuff, so fun to watch😂
At this point any coffee company that misses the first chance to make a commercial with James is making the biggest possible mistake of all time.
Note to myself: never underestimate british humour.
The whispered "my name is James" had me dying
Edit: the coffee spreading all over
I, I just can't-
And the face of confusion 😂
I so agree with you both!! LOL
YES the barista’s facial expressions were so funny
Anna, you forgot the little pointy finger gesture and face of pride at the end in this sequence! and in all, the best part of the ad :D
I'm a little late to the party here, but also... The little Bripe cameo! 🤣🤣🤣
The way the barista blends the emotions of hurt and offended when he says "ok" after James asks for "Fresh coffee beans" is pure method acting.
That whole interaction would have left me howling from laughter if I saw it play out irl
AND THEN THE "my name is james" with serial killer vibes oh god im cracking up
He was great as the butler too
@@AMalas AND THEN THE finger gun good bye at the end of the interaction! *chef kiss*
I laughed out loud at this point
"turns out, if you do the paperwork and pay the fee, you can close a road"
The way James said this made me feel fairly confident that this has spawned several ideas in James head.
This is the correct application of bureaucracy.
Now I want to close a road just to see if I can do it.
Soon, "Can we close M25 for a pop-up cafe?"
@@worawatli8952 honestly with how slow traffick moves sometimes you wouldn't even need to close it
Just loved the "fresh coffee beans, my name is James". Amazing how you were able to transform your frustration towards the initial comertial to a very funny and out of hand commercial! You rock!!!
Sorry…Not Sorry…but YOU are simply NOT BRAD..so Brads commercial is better..because ITS BRAD😎🤣😂
@@suecoelho467 or bread?
I was expect a second James followed by Bond.
Hi, I know that was like a year ago but, I just wanted you to know that I am the guy that’s waving to the camera at minute 12:50 .You and your camera crew were one of the best memories I have about my trip to the Uk! It was so cool
The extaggeration of the bean throw and topping it with the filter scene made me laugh out loud. The bripe was not the cherry on the top it was a necessity.
James' evil expression when he lit up the butane torch was the true cherry.
Agreed! I just started laughing when the beans started to bounce all over the grinder. Pure chaos energy!
Yes! Exactly when I spit out my coffee laughing!
...when asked to throw a coffee together...
It was an amazing payoff to the Bripe being missing from the shelf in the last video. So damn good.
The beans just carelessly being poured into the funnel and then lying around all over the counter followed by the ground coffee just sloppily sprinkled everywhere except for the filter completely killed me. Wonderful and hilarious take on the commercial. Watching your reaction first really helped identify some hidden jokes here, so I advise everyone to see that to :)
Same xD
Those scenes rly sent me
And after seeing the Bripe, it all made sense.
Same xD The whole thing is actually really stupid and I really expected something closer to the actual ad BUT that very scene made all up for it :D
This was my favorite part. The whole thing was funny, but this made me LMAO.
I actually saw the video that led to James doing this pastiche, which is how I ended up here....down a rabbit hole I never knew existed
....
That killed me! The Bripe at the end was perfect!
That was so perfect and really hurt my sides. Just perfect!
That caught me totally by surprise, wonderful ending.
That was absolutely fantastic piece of comedy, 90% of moviemakers could learn from you about timing and delivery of both verbal and non-verbal humor. Pure gold.
I swear since Hames came on the scene James has been amping up the pure chaos energy.
How do we know that Hames Joffmann isn't the _real_ author of these videos?
Those Evil twins are just getting out of hand lately
Mr Joffman
I wish James gave Hames the days' raw footage to fiddle with.
@@user-qg7tk2lj4j Hames most recent video is proof of that
The coffee beans pouring everywhere BUT the hopper TOOK ME OUT 😂
Yes, there is when I lost it as well 😂
Still laughing 😂
Same 😂
up til now I had always thought "pour over" referred to the water!
and the fact that they are still all over the place when the machine is running. 😗👌
Awesome! The actual pastiche commercial needs to be uploaded just by itself ✌️
That Bripe shot at the end was… Perfetto.
The moment you put the bripe up to your mouth I actually burst out laughing. Absolutely fantastic work! You should all be super proud. Bravo!
For me it was the casual pouring of coffee beans in the general direction of a grinder, doubled down by the repeat of pouring the grounds all over a coffee filter.
The bripe got me as well 😂😂😍
Same 😂
I thought it was a bong. I saw the lighter and then heard the gurgle: "Apparently James is a hophead, too!"
Real *record-scratch* *spit-take* moment
I totally laughed out loud at “fresh beans” and the ever wonderful bripe at the end. Well done!
The bripe got me good. I forgot he had that thing HAHA!
I laughed so hard my sister in the other room thought I was dying. The pipe is honestly the cherry on the top
This was absolutely hilarious. The beans into the grinder killed me.
i cannot describe how much i love james for doing this
same!
I love how everything James does turns into chaos but the gentlest form of chaos...
Chaotic good
@@danielbum912 Beat me to it
That was more entertaining than the original! I actually laughed when beans were bouncing all over the place and ground coffee being poured from the sky completely missing the filter and finally your expression right after that sealed it. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 11:22-11:29
the commercial was absolute gem, loved it more than the original one
I hope Brad Pitt sees this and reaches out to make a third version of this. A mash up of the two would be amazing. The bripe was just the best finish to an awesomely funny video.
Noob here, but could you explain how/why the pipe thing was funny. I get that it’s some kind of joke, just not one I’m in on 😢
@@shantanukishwar6218 might have been the pipe itself or, back in the day, Brad was known to love his "Mary Jane", so maybe a "jab" on that, and lastly, for all of the smokers out there (pipe, cigarette, or I guess, e-cig nowadays) if that's your thing, then a cup of Java and a smoke, is really one of the ultimate pleasures in life...interpret how you will! Cheers!
@@shantanukishwar6218 The pipe thing is called a "bripe" (short for "brew pipe"). it is a pipe-like device that brews a half-cup of coffee. Mr. Hoffman did a video on the bripe a while back so the scene was a callback.
I laughed out loud at the coffee beans missing the hopper and then literally almost fell out of my chair howling when the ground coffee went all over the place. Hardest I've laughed in a while. Honorable mention was the lean in "My name is James" moment!
yes me too! i did a spit take!
same here :D
That was utterly hilarious, and there's a really lovely feeling of coming full-circle in the whole process, from the original commercial and your reaction video to now being about to create your own take on it. Absolutely improved my day. :D
Favourite part, 12:51 man in background with so much enthusiasm as James says “they have no idea what’s going on” 😂
By far my favorite was the sociopathic dumping of coffee into the grinder and then filter.
Oh, I took it as totally pissed drunk clumsiness.
@@sarahrosen4985 I accept this as canon now.
@@vigilantcosmicpenguin8721 🙂
*Stares into soul of cashier*
"My name is James"
🤣🤣
Amazing recreation. Absolutely loved it
I absolutely loved this! This was by far the best thing I have seen on CZcams in the last few years. The lead-up from watching the OG commercial, to your thoughts on it, to this new and improved rendition was masterful. You and the whole team did such an incredible job. I am so happy this actually exists. 😂😂😂 You guys knocked this out of the park. The lines, the emotion, the smug humour. 👌👌👌
The one thing I think you missed, is having Brad follow you towards the house door, expecting to be invited to come in and enjoy a cup of coffee, and you just closing the door on him leaving him surprised. Other than that, loved it!
You even captured the bouncing beans! Perfectly capped by the re-emergence of the Bripe. Bravo!
I laughed out loud when the bripe came out.
@@13rown lol +1. Hilarious!
The bripe and the coffee grounds spilling everywhere reference from the original ad was HILARIOUS
That was the single greatest piece of cinematography I've witnessed this year. I laughed, I cried (from laughter), and it made me want coffee. Bravo.
Omg this genuinely brought me so much joy. I laughed throughout the whole commercial and I almost never laugh out loud so thank you for that
Was NOT prepared for so much enjoyment this morning. The bripe was the cherry on top 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 absolutely hilarious
Oi! Spoiler alert!
The end product needs to be a video on its own so i can watch it over and over again and have a good laugh
This
Just the best coffee commercial out there if ever publish 😂😂 very kind and helpful Brad. Really didn't think you would seriously make this video 🤣
I really love it, the confusing face of the barista with "fresh coffee beans, my name is James" was hilarious. I really really love it 🤗
Your ‘fresh coffee beans’ is just like me pondering at a restaurant over a wine menu, then informing the waiter with great confidence - (when asked what I would like) ‘a red one’
And if I were that waiter, I would instantly form a positive bond with my customer by replying:
“ Good choice, sir. that is one of my favorite types as well”
“I know a fair amount about fine food and drink… This is a white.”
As per Leslie Knope: "Please give me a glass of your second cheapest red wine because I honestly can't tell the difference."
@@MichaelAlthauser Problem is that old trope has made its way all around the industry at least a couple of times by now . and so restaurants actually subvert that by making their cheapest wine… their now-second cheapest wine.
$$ Cha-Ching!!
"Yes, I would like one of your finest drinks. Alcoholic, please."
The Bripe! Such a fun opportunity, definitely looks well executed. Love how this channel walks the balance of being serious about coffee while not taking it too seriously
That was awesome and much fun to watch!
Especially the ending with the burner and the coffee pipe made for a round and wholesome experience with depth of flavours :D
Well done James & Team!
That was the best version ever! I want James to do more coffee parody ads! Where can I see JUST the parody ad? Lmfao
The disgust with which James turned down the coffee during the motorbike repair scene was beautiful, really made me laugh. Despite this being an unlikely recurrence, I really hope that he gets approached for this kind of project again!
Actually, this makes sense.
Imagine that you have bought the coffee beans of your dreams. You are going home and in your mind you are already preparing it. At the gas station, someone offers you coffee from some unknown beans. It will be either bad coffee or good coffee, which will spoil or distort your taste experience of purchased coffee beans.
P.s. In my personal experience, there is no really good coffee at gas stations. It will be "normal coffee" if you're lucky.
@@Brave_Lion you will get coffee that's been slowly burning on a hot plate for three hours and it'll taste awful but it'll keep you awake and that's what anyone buys gas station coffee for
@@Brave_Lion whilst I agree that gas station coffee is probably not what you'd usually call "high quality coffee", but I don't think that the coffee is being served to him at the gas station in that clip, but during motorcycle maintenance:
I'm pretty sure that the segment in question and James' refusal of the coffee is supposed to refer to James' commentary on the original advertisement. How strange it is that Brad lounges in a chair with a dissatisfied expression, not drinking coffee whilst his mechanic is drinking some.
James takes this critique of Brad's implied 'snobbishness' to another level by outright refusing the coffee which has clearly been made for him, turning it down not with a thanking smile, but with a full-body denial.
@@Brave_Lion I wouldn't accept that coffee either though :D
I may need to do a cinematography breakdown and comparison between this and the original ad 😁🙌
Please share a link if you do!
Will do 🤔
Please do that!
Brad’s self control to NOT nod at 11:12 to his fellow bikers while filming is impressive!
Harleys innit! Don't nod at me on my tiger hahaha. Love Harleys though
@@andynotdave yeah that’s true actually, I never get nods off the cruisers!
I honestly don't get why this video hasn't gotten more recognition, funniest video I've watched in a while
The moment you sploshed all the “fresh beans” into the EG1 really set up the next cut to the bripe. Nicely done! I still think that poor barista is traumatized by your ‘fresh beans’ request.
the cut to the bripe was great, glad it found another use, and it wasn't just forgotten and relegated to the channels history and james' probably terrifying amount of coffee equipment storage pile
I… laughed… sooooo…… hard! When Brad got on the bike and chauffeured James, I lost it. This is the finest piece of work I have seen in so long. Thank you for making my day!
I mean, right. Just such a perfect mount.
So awesome.
It was the bripe for me! 😆
Absolutely loved both your reaction video and this one as well! 🤣 Thank you for always making us laugh! So happy that you had the opportunity to do this!
I looooooooved this! I’m glad I took your advice and watched Brad Pitt’s commercial and your review of it before finishing watching this one because doing that allowed me to laugh my way through your hilarious version of that commercial! Thank you for making this! My favorite part was when you whispered your name to the barista so he could write it on your bag.
something I really enjoy about James is when he does a sponsor he actually shows examples of how he's used the product himself especially with his website and this is a great example. idk I just find it interesting
This was beautiful - Now all we need is Brad reacting to your coffee commercial 🤣
Then James reacting to Brad reacting
@@craigprosser9554 then Mike Tyson reacting to James reacting to Brad
Then Brad remaking James' commercial with a quality espresso machine and good beans
@@stirfryjedi "GOOD BEANS" written on the pack.
@@Mr.Grinee with and actual long description of where the beans come from... not that you can read them cos they're out of focus....!!
Your commercial was awesome! My favorite part was the falling beans and the ground coffee going everywhere! Loved it!
That was excellent. Props to all the talented people who made it happen, and for James to being the mad creative force making this happen. :D
The way James snatches the chips away from Brad, too funny.
..crisps? (snickering)
When you walked into the apartment and just left the door wide open behind you, that detail really sent me. 12/10 laughed quite a lot
The way he pulled the chip bag away felt personal. But this ad was so incredibly fun and so quirky! I hope you use these guys again to advertise your "fresh coffee beans" one day
The fact that this exists, and was able to happen at all, is so absurdly bizzare that I couldn’t help but be enraptured in waiting for what the final product would be. And it was hilARIOUS, oh my gods. Y’all got a top notch team here, and all y’all did an amazing job with this remake!
I spent more than 40 years doing this professionally and I am both delighted and impressed by what you guys were able to pull off. Good on you. And cheers.
Did you happen to do any work in our beautiful city, Charleston, SC???
Wow, 40yrs. I've only spent ~14yrs watching CZcams professionally.
what is your profession? Barista / coffee roaster / biker?
You have no idea how much that made me laugh. I’m staying home from work today because medication has left me a crumpled mess of overwhelming anxiety and depression, but this made me gut laugh so loud it probably concerned my neighbors and left spit all over my tablet. Thank you so much. That was absolutely amazing.
This was amazing! Mr. Hoffman you are such a wonderful educator in your field, but this was so delightful.
I look forward tot he next video you film. Well done!
James, that was so much fun! After watching your "Brad" review - it was so cool to see your homage / spoof of that video. Love the "fresh coffee beans" bit " my name is James" 🤣 Hope Brad P gets to see it and comment as well.
I didn't expect Brad and James riding the bike together! It's hilarious, I died laughing!
We expect nothing less of “Things have gotten a little out of hand” on this channel at this point James.
"outdoor film's shoot nemesis: the British weather" I loved that. I remember several outdoor shots of Doctor Who (the 4th Doctor Tom Baker) and the villages that appear were always like rain had just ended, probably because the rain had just ended and they desperately filmed in those short windows between rain ending and rain starting again.
Having just watched the hand coffee grinder videos (wherein James grumbled several times about the supports being too high and causing the beans to spill all over) earlier today, made the scene with the chaotic spillage of bean and grounds that much funnier. Wrapping up my evening with this delightful triptych of perfectly timed delivery and facial expressions was just *_chef's kiss!_*
From start to finish, James' version of Brad Pitt's commercial was incredible and brilliant. Tremendous job to all the crew that made it possible!
This is as perfect as that fateful day Brad decided to film that commercial and thus sending James on the journey to rectify the misrepresentation of coffee to the world.
So much fun! I'm glad I saw the commentary on Pitt commercial first. So Funny. "My name's James". Only motorcyles on the road, the beans popping everywhere, and then the bripe at the very end. GOLD
Your version of the ad is a massive improvement! Truly enjoyed watching this video
Great commercial. I wish you would just upload it as its own video so we can all quickly enjoy it whenever we want to. It was a lot of fun and you sure know how to trigger us all!
I agree !
That Bripe at the end is the greatest plot twist I have ever seen
The bripe properly got me, and I was already laughing. You really nailed it!
The coffee spills were the finishing touch that got me wheezing! Please make more of these, that’s brilliant
You definitely made my day. The beans / grounds dump absolutely killed me. The beginning as well has this whimsical Wes Anderson-like feel. Great job.
I giggled through the entire commercial. Delightful. Well done to the whole team.
Absolutely class, start to finish. Really enjoyed this. Although it’s expensive and time-consuming, I’d welcome any more videos like this! Well done 👏
Oh goodie, this had me in tears!
From the UK helmet over the tortured barista soul, the snobby-ish crisp-hoarding to the coffeedrinking plot-twist at the end. GENIUS! Cackling my way all through this great anti-commercial!
Also amazing insight/behind the scenes of the whole project. What a fun and interesting episode! Never would have guessed just how much work is going into a seemingly "simple" advertisement. Oh and I absolutely LOVED that hazy look/lighting/atmosphere in the home location. Super cozy
Literally perfect. You truly do understand your audiences sense of humor. I cried laughing, bravo
Literally perfetto*
This is the most I have laughed, whole-heartedly, in quite some time. Thank you, James and your entire team for sharing the experience!
10:56 that little bend of the knee and the disdainful raising of the palm and turning away ... hilarious 🤣🤣
I was so sure you'd be on a push bike but the chopper didn't disappoint. Brilliant fun.
The bikers passing in the country side was an epic shot, also the spilled coffee beans! Loved it!
Kind of makes you appreciate the effort that a first class parody takes; James, you and Alfred Matthew are my heroes 😊
Best video I've seen on CZcams in a while! love the inside references. The bripe at the end was the icing on the cake!
He got me with the Brad thing!
I was so stocked thinking it was the other Brad.
😂😂😂
Absolutely hilarious… I have spent too many hours of my life standing about on a film set ready to shout ‘action’ so I think you did VERY well to make that in 2, well er 3 days!
as a long time viewer I really can't believe how far your channel has come
like who would have expected a niche coffee/ coffee business channel would become this big
really you deserve it though, thanks for all the content
That was HILARIOUS! really well done. you should consider starting your own sequel of parodies
One thing that annoyed me in the original was he left his front door open as he walked into his 'house. And I'm so glad you replicated that absurdity
As soon as I saw those beans hopping hilariously i was like, "it's gonna be a bripe, isn't it, that's a bripe moment, yep." 😂
...and I just now understood the torch, backed by a maniacal grin.
@@joeldcanfield_spinhead Really, when someone holds a torch with a maniacal grin, you know whatever comes next is going to be fun.
@@vigilantcosmicpenguin8721 Erm, picture my two unhinged brothers, a disused railroad bridge over a rocky stream, and ever increasing molotov cocktails till the gallon jug with a quart of gasoline took all the hair off the fronts of their heads and brought emergency services from miles away, and you may understand why, no so much in my experience ;)
Remarkable take James! 👏
I would love to see more in the future!
What an excellent video. The rejection of the offered coffee during the mechanic was my favorite part along with the beans spilling al over! And the little soft laugh at the end of the comercial was the cherry on top.
Nice to see Bripe safe and sound! I actually ordered it yesterday, so soon I will be ready for absurd commercials too!
The bripe killed me. Well done good sir, well done.
It was fun!
Also ties in really well with your previous reaction video, love the little refusal of the cup of coffee while the bike is being worked on, great nod there 😂
PS: As a former film maker I can attest that shooting anything outdoors is the primary nemesis of a director, great sound capture is an art, and good lighting is much harder to achieve than it looks.
10/10 James. Fully expected you to get on a moped for the video but sitting on the bike is **chefs kiss**
The dialogue and facial expressions in the coffee shop are hilarious. I love it!
