  • In developing and emerging countries, industries such as construction and food production are experiencing significant growth. However, a pressing challenge lies in the lack of skilled labour, particularly among the younger population. Swiss companies, recognising the potential in these regions, are eager to tap into new markets but face hurdles due to a lack of trained workers and limited training infrastructure on site. In response, Swisscontact is spearheading initiatives to bridge this gap by encouraging local companies to invest in the training and development of future employees. Swisscontact emphasises practical vocational training tailored to the needs of the local industries. By fostering partnerships between companies, vocational schools and ministries, Swisscontact faciliates the exchange of expertise and resources, ultimately contributing to sustainable economic growth in developing and emerging countries.
