here are the lyrics
first song
ALRIGHT NOW!!
Won't you listen?
When I first met you, didn't realize
I can't forget you, for your suprize
you introduced me, to my mind
And left me wanting, you and your kind
I love you, Oh you know it
My life was empty forever on a down
Until you took me, showed me around
My life is free now, my life is clear
I love you sweet leaf, though you can't hear
Come on now, try it out
Straight people don't know, what you're about
They put you down and shut you out
you gave to me a new belief
and soon the world will love you sweet leaf - Hudba
I’m 73 and combat Vietnam vet.I play this tune every morning with my coffee. It gets me thru these trying times !
Thanks for serving our country… i still listen to sabbath and Led Zeppelin and others …I’m 63 and this is my era of music when I was a teenager…✌️
Omg...I'm doing that right now. Lol
Thank you for your service, much respect, you rock!
I hope you have weed with your coffee. ❤
I understand but at times we got to forget the past if we don't we die young!! With God we live forever
"You introduced me to my mind" what a line
for REAL
Right?...
Actually so true. And legal now.
It’s a psychadelic like acid and shrooms
@@br4n1g4n smoke weed and listen Doom metal
I'm 70. My brother, a friend and I drove to Columbia, SC in early summer 1973 to see Black Sabbath. I play this to get jack up for the day!
Every grunge band drummer from the 90s was inspired by this song... and that's a good thing!
I've been blessed to enjoy both generations of great music.
Give it away outro i think

Tony Iommi coughing from a fat hit never gets old!
Legend says if you listen carefully. You can still hear him coughing that same cough from that fat hit
lol
Yes he was. Before recording the song. He took a drag off of a joint and it just happened to make it on the album. Far out.
What a coincidence!
You're right about that one
First time I heard this song, it was at a party at a friend's house in the mid 70's. Me and a couple of buddies just showed up at the party house stoned already. It was dark, and Mo and his brother Ruff had hung some of their high end speakers up in the big trees in the front yard, which were invisible to everybody. As we stumbled through the front yard to the door, suddenly this loud cough on repeat bounced from tree to tree all the way around us, and then Sweetleaf kicked in at high volume. I think I was doing acid that night, and the cough out of nowhere freaked me out (in a good way), then when Sabbath started singing about weed, I was just stoked! What a happy boy I was! What a great party! And to this day, every time I hear this song, I have to think of Mo and Ruff Logan in DeSoto Missouri, and that great introduction to this great song. Love it! And after 47 years, it's still sweet leaf for me.
Good times
Hell ya 🤘
Mo and Ruff Logan. Sounds like two bad ass motherfuckers! Like as in "you'll better run MO and Ruff Logan just pulled up and they are asking where you are!!"
Dawg, this is crazy. I met my wife in DeSoto. Wonder if we might have crossed paths at one point.
stereo fade is still trippy..
neat story
Let's not forget to credit Ozzy, for his fantastic talent with the perfect tone, his natural ability for the timing and emphasis in his vocals.A true Rock classic.
Im sure he will show up at power trip for a few songs. I have faith lol
Absolutely, Ozzy is crazy underrated. His melody lines for Sabbath are brilliant and unforgettable.
From what I remember, Tony Iommi was coughing while smoking a joint. Someone hit the RECORD button at just the right moment, and that became the iconic intro to an iconic song!
Sounds like ozzy coughing 😕 but u could be right
@@bfinj I heard somewhere that it was Geezer🤔
Let's just said each cough in the intro is a different person in the studio 😂
It wasn't accidental, the way it slides from left to right shows that.....
@@craigschruhm2379 that was done post-mix
Ozzy is talking to plants again.
I do that too. Probably for Ozzy too that they don't talk back.
Underrated comment tbh. Wouldn't surprise me if he actually did at one point

Are we talking about weed or when ozzy texted robert plant saying he lost his cat
@@ashhrefhkookncswejjbdeuknv4956 lmao what I'd like to hear this 1 plz

You have no control over what you like.
I had Tony's cough as a notification alert on my phone. I had to go to the hospital for a procedure in June. I was in my room one day and a friend sent me several texts. My nurse came running, thinking I had corona cough!
Priceless!
HA
😂
Cool story bro. Except a heavy cough isn't a Covid 19 marker.
Lmao
we were talking about cofid-18 at dinner tonight and my dad randomly did this cough followed by him singing the riff and "all riiiight now"... I had to find the song lol

Imagine: a 17 year old hearing this for the first time with headphones, long hair, a loner, slightly disturbed, on a do nothing Thursday. It was great. Led Zep finally had some company.

Hearing this album when I was 15, changed my brain in some way that I don't understand. But I am really glad that it did. Now I am 53 and I still get that feeling when I listen to Sabbath. Happy Christmas and have a great new year everyone.
Same age here, live! What incredible music we had! Sabbath forever!

One of the most underrated drummers Bill Ward.
Absolutely! His drumming on "Vol. 4" is a reminder.
I don't think, I'm sure a lot of drummers were influenced by Bill Ward.
I seen him in the original Sabbath 6 times...and met him once..wow.. I love the guy
So Geezer Butler's out by now?
I have sticks signed by him 🤘🏾👊🏽

This band was ahead of their time!
I love this Sabbath song so much. This song puts me in a happy mood. 💕💕💕💕
Saw ozzy at freakers ball he blew Danzig and all the other bands away. He jammed for close to 3 hours every song sounded just like the recorded version . He still didn't have enough time to play all his hits! That was in the 90 s I have tickets for the no more tours, tour in September 2018 and I know I won't be disappointed ! The most under rated singer in rock in roll. Sabbath kicks him out and he writes another hit -Goodbye to romance. Ozzy we will miss you I know you were never a mad man just a man who made his own way and made his own rules and rocked the people on the way . Never forget the first time I heard sweet leaf, flyin high again, you can't kill rock n roll , so tired, there are just too many to list. I ll never forget the awesome jams. You may stop touring but you will never stop barking at the moon! You never needed the gimmicks the music was of the highest quality still it was fun to see our parents scared as hell when they heard us jammin to the prince of darkness. Enjoy the retirement you deserve it man!
Jason Carpenter cheers🖤
They kick him out and he finds good ol randy
Wow! Great story about them, what? 25 years ago. Sabbath aged well in this regard (live).
That cuz the "OZ" man kicks ass!!!

The way they smothly jump from that sick drumm solo back into the groove is just so refreshing
This song doesn’t have a drum solo. It has a great drum fill during the guitar solo. Put down the sweet leaf.

"I wrote “Sweet Leaf” in the studio. I’d come back from Dublin, and they had these cigarettes called Sweet Afton. We were going, “What could we write about?” I took out a cigarette packet, and as it’s got on the lid, ‘The Sweetest Leaf You Can Buy!’ I was like, “Ah, Sweet Leaf!"
