Onboard the classic queen of the skies, Boeing 747 jumbo! This British Airways beauty was operating flight BA274 from the hot Nevada desert, Las Vegas to London Heathrow.
Departure was delayed by approximately 20 minutes due to the late arrival of the inbound aircraft initially however once onboard and comfortably in my Club World seat upstairs we pushed back. Blissfully unaware to all of us however was that a storm was sitting just to the East of the airport. So after starting engines there was a runway swap and a restriction on the rate of departing traffic due to the weather closing in. You can see some flashes of lightening in some of the shots as well as the rain starting to fall on the windows. Which has to be said is rare for Vegas in the summer months! So after pushing back, we waited in a queue for departure for over an hour before finally getting underway.
Once on our way eastbound, a fantastic service on the upper deck in British Airways' Club World cabin. Drinks and food service, delivered beautifully. I had the braised Beef Steak which was delicious. Before tucking myself in with the duvet and pillows provided and getting some sleep on the club flat beds. A bonus of being on the upper deck is the lack of traffic. Not many people walking up and down and very little noise from galleys or toilets.
Just a few hours into the flight and the sun was already starting to rise before we'd even left the Canadian coast behind us. Before descent I was offered a breakfast, which consisted of fruit, yogurt, pastry and juice followed by a hot breakfast of your choice.
Before starting our descent over Wales and the River Severn. Flying just to the south of Heathrow and the city of London. Turning left and spinning round over Croydon before joining the approach onto Heathrows northerly runway, RWY27R.

Take Off is at 13:00 in the video. Although dark, the bright lights of Vegas mean its still quite a good view and the sound of the 4 rolls royce, RB211's is fantastic! Headphones in and volume up for that.
This flight is one of only a handful of flights that operate to/from Heathrow Terminal 3, instead of BA's usual hub of T5. This is usually due to capacity of stands. However our late arrival into Heathrow meant we didn't have an available stand so we waited a while for a remote stand to become available. No complaints from me though as that means you get to see the aircraft up close and personal.
Unfortunately I didn't have a window seat on my outbound flight so didn't manage to film a video for that.

I’ve been on a flight from London to Las Vegas, although the. Flight was a long one at 10 hours, that didn’t bother me because I bought some books at Heathrow airport. I had a great time in Las Vegas. So I’ll be going back there again 👏

Lovely video of the old lady and queen of the skies. Must say that in those days she was wonderful, but modern aircraft has an improved noise suppression.

Wow! And you just had to get "A New Day Has Come"by Celine Dion in the mix! She's one of my favorite singers, and I've been trying to meet her for years. I actually wrote a letter to her around 21-1/2 years ago, and she responded to my suggestion to do the 100th episode of "Touched by an Angel" back in 1998. I'll never forget that, and I really hope a friend of mine can hook me up with her. I'd so love to go to Las Vegas just to hear her perform.
Anyway, fantastic flight. Have you ever met a celebrity? I've met Josh Groban twice, and I'm trying to hook up with him again this year while he's here in Atlanta. I hope I can tell him my story, and tell Celine too.

I've never been to an overseas flights... The blankies that cabin crew gives the passengers, are you allowed to take it with you when you disembark the plane?
The blankets are on the seats when you board. I don't think specifically you'll allowed to take them, but I also very much doubt they'll stop you from taking one.

45 minutes of mostly looking at the same sky every other airplane sees on such a trip, sigh. The on board amenities and food/service are what people want to see. Thanks for the 30 seconds. The view is pretty much the same on every airline.
