I agree it’s been the worst thing ever to connect and keep connected. Drops out frequently no matter where i move it to. I have a lot of devices that connect fine, its only the Acurite Atlas I’ve had trouble with. Even their horrid splash page (set up page) doesn’t load all the time either. Acurite support give me a pile of instructions to adjust my modem to make it suitable however tech support at my internet providers cant even understand them! The sensor also chews through new batteries every couple of weeks.
Having the same issue. First try, made sure to turn off firewall and VPN. Device setup page loaded, entered Wi-Fi credentials, then something happened and got the refused connection error.
Honestly the Wi-Fi is crap. If there is any sort of failure it just keeps sending bogus data. Example my something happened while I was on vacation and it sent wrong data to their cloud for 7days, the display needed rebooted. When I reached out about how to delete it they said there isn’t a method. So i just stopped using it as it randomly happens so my graphs are not even correct.
Colossal pain. Numerous issues, but finally got it to work. Best trouble shooting steps are listed in an article on the acurite website, "Connecting a Wi-Fi Display to Your Wi-Fi Service." Steps I wen't through 1) make sure my home wi-fi network is 2.4 GHz (not 5 GHz). 2) Perform a factory reset on the wi-fi display and then on the display navigate to menu > Connections > wi-fi setup (until I could finally select the acurite wi-fi connection via my computer). 3) Keep opening different browsers until one finally loaded with my home wi-fi network as an option in the drop down menu.
Greetings Jason…. I totally agree with you I’ve been with computers my whole life and this has to be one of the worst set ups I have found with that said I really found it not I repeat not necessary to use the Wi-Fi set up because the only reason you’re doing it is to share the data. Thank you 😊 Allan G.
I actually posted this video to send to acurite to help resolve the issue. It’s just a bad weather station in general so I left it up partly to get people to buy something else.
Found your vid while looking for help setting up wifi on new 06099M display. I had to open my wifi up with zero security in order for the device to see my home wifi.. Once it saw it, then I changed the security back to WPA2-PSK and the device said.. Ok. and updated. I now have Wi-Fi on my display ... sheesh
Hello Jason! I could NOT agree MORE! I'm on the Internet daily with my work, am "pretty darned tech' savvy" and this is RIDICULOUS! Originally had the Iris 5-in-one and within 10 - 14 days there was a huge discount on the Atlas! I returned the Iris and have had the Atlas for four (4) days now "trying to connect to Wi-Fi"!!! I found your posted video (this one) via Acu-Rite's suggested video as a follow-up offering. Can NOT believe they would [also] let THAT happen! What's the current status of your Acu-Rite experience? Do you have a working unit today; is it Wi-Fi connected and utilizing all features?
I have Wi-Fi that works, but there are days when it stops working. Since there is no way to clear the bad data I might have a day or two where it is stuck at 30f or whatever the last temp was. The lightening I just gave up on entirely, never worked. Before anyone asks, the unit was shipped back and refurbished, then entirely replaced. I do not feel it is a quality product at all. If you are in range of returning it still I would say return and find another type.
I concur. I rue the day I gave my old Iris setup to my brother, this Atlas is worse in almost every possible way. What company comes up with a new and improved weather station, that is worse than your previous iteration?
I'm having the exact same issues with this POS Atlas Model 06059M and unable to connect to the Wi_Fi on the display. It's quite shameful. Also because I've switched to the Atlas from the 5in1 I can no longer connect any of those old displays even making sure I'm on the same channel. (device and display are matched)
Be aware this only works with 2G so I'm going not backwards from my 5G didn't know when i bought it. I sent mine back as it wouldn't connect to my Access hub/cell or PC which all work well with several other sensors I have.
@@tonyzaragoza2691 I can't remember everything I did, but during the setup process I connected my phone to its wifi signal. from there I looked on the display's setup screen and typed in the numbers and decimals it gave me. From there I punched I my wifi information. I do not know how long it took to connect to wifi because a little while after that, I had to go to work. When I came back the WIFI was connected to the display. This is the steps I did for the Wifi connection. I don't know which part of the setup you need help with.
It was the usb power supply .. that said I the lightening detection is so bad I ended up removing the module entirely. Just personal opinion, I wouldn’t recommend this brand to anyone.
@@tonyzaragoza2691 Let me know where you having the trouble, if I can remember your computer wifi must be connected directly to it, so that you can make adjustments.
Kinda. After a power supply replacement the display worked. I then had to send the entire thing back 2x. I kind of gave up hope with the lightening detector as there is absolutely no way there is 500+ strikes on a winter day in PA when there is nothing on the NOAA map for a 200m radius. Sooo, maybe a lessor model? Or avoid, but I think they are all kinda junky that last for a few months.
when someone has the answer please get back with it. This is unsatisfactory and must rectify this problem.
Oddly, try another power supply. It did finally work with another.
What a cluster fuck.
I really like my Acurite Iris system. But I have given-up on their internet connection.

I have the 5 in 1 iris and it connected fine for about 4 months. I've tried everything to get it to connect again with no luck

A company that has invested $0 in software development.
