2 minutes and 47 seconds of an example as to why The Wall is my favorite album of all time. I didn't start to really listen to the words of PF until my late teens, early twenties. By then, the meaning in their songs made sense to me. But I have noticed that some of the nuances in the words have just become clearer to me as I have gotten older and have had more life experiences. I was drawn to PF because of their brilliant music but it was the profound beauty and sadness of many of PF's songs, due to my own traumas early in life, that made them become my favorite band of all time. I feel like their music has saved me many times, throughout my life.
I was 9. I'll tell you that as I matured and began to understand the meaning behind it all, it devastated me. The Final Cut has had me in tears multiple times. To give you perspective, I'm a German American who descended from a line of very famous Nazis. Namely the Messerschmitts. I'm ashamed of the horror we brought to so many innocent people.
