    Reserva Conchal
    The Westin Reserva Conchal, an All-Inclusive Golf Resort & Spa
    Garra De Leon Golf Course
    W Costa Rica - Reserva Conchal
    Info about the area:
    We are ready to explore Conchal, Brasilito, Flamingo and Portrero beaches: all very short jaunts in the car but all uniquely different.
    It’s easy to visit all of these places in one day. We’ll be exploring each in depth over the next few episodes so that you can choose the right one for you as a base or make it a road trip. From wild camping and campsites to Hostals, Hotels, and resorts, all budgets will get to enjoy the same five star beaches!
    This time we’re in Brasilito, Costa Rica and we will be walking over to Conchal beach as well! These two beaches are the MOST different but are actually right next to each other.
    Reserva Conchal featues the all-inclusive Westin Golf Resort and Spa ranges between $400 and $500/night and the luxurious W Hotel (Prices range dramatically from 412-815 per night with Christmas and new years reaching $1,300 per night) Suites range from garden view rooms to king villas with infinity edge plunge pools. There are also many condominiums on the hillside some of which are available for vacation rentals. The closest town for groceries and shops is Brasilito.
    If you are dreaming of a tropical beach getaway we highly recommend this specific section of coastline in Costa Rica.
    Book a flight into the Liberia International Airport, (LIR) and you’ll have your toes in the sand in no time. We recommend renting a car at one of the many agencies for more travel flexibility however there are buses and shuttles that serve the entire area as well.
    Once you’re here pick one of these places as a base and then beach hop. The short distances between each spectacular spot makes this an exciting beach holiday and each town is quite different from the next as well.
    Activities include surfing, sup and kayak, snorkeling and scuba diving, sailing excursions, whale and dolphin watching, and 18 holes of golf at Garra de Leon’ Golf Course, one of the best golf courses in Central America. There are also ATV tours and wave runners for a kick of adrenaline!
    PLAYA BRASILITO
    “Playa” is beach in Spanish
    As you cross the short bridge and drive into Brasilito’s main square it could be easy to pass right through and miss the real hidden gem here. The beach front soccer field has been repurposed as parking for the nearby Conchal beach which is no longer accessible by car. Parking guards charge anywhere from c3,000 to 5,000 colones. There are quaint eateries around the square and a couple of markets for stocking up on water, soda, beer and snacks and most people see just this little slice of Brasilito.
    Passing the main square on your left continue straight. Instead of following the cars where the paved road veers right keep going straight onto the dusty road ahead. Now you’re in for a treat.
    You’ll notice several landscaped seaside lots to choose from. We picked this little paradise complete with palm frond palapa and drift wood seating.
    If you continue on the road narrows and eventually leads to a little island at the end of the path.
    PLAYA CONCHAL
    Most people will reach Playa Conchal by foot unless you’re staying at the resort or in the residences. The closest parking is in the main square but if you drive along a little further you can park for free.
    Jet-skis: To give you an idea on pricing they were offering $160 for a 2 hours tour or $100 to rent for 1 hour, $60 for 30 minutes zipping around on your own.
    Tip: We noticed that most people were filtering back towards their cars after noon.

    So excited for my trip next month! This is jus the vibe I was hoping to have. Almost booked a hotel in Tamarindo then realized it seemed more touristy then would like. I came across Playa Brasilito and so happy I did further research!

      That’s a very good idea and I’d love to! Great suggestion. I’m working on some “travel Tuesday” videos and that’d be a perfect subject matter. Thank you, Paige! Much appreciated!

    Great video! I’ll be visiting in a couple weeks and playa conceal is on our itinerary! Are there places to get food on the beach or should we bring our own?

      Thanks Lauren! It’s such a beautiful spot! They do have some snack items but the restaurants are over in Brasilito or inside the resorts if you want to get take-away. There are little markets for drinks and picnic supplies as well in Brasilito. :)

    Do they accept USD in brasilito? Is it better to use colones?

    • @SaltTravelCo
      @SaltTravelCo  Před rokem

      They do however the exchange rate will favor the vendor and is set by them. It’s usually not much different so for small purchases won’t make a big difference. They will most likely give you change in colones

    Just FYI, Conchal was never pink, that's Playa Minas. Next time you get to Brasilito ask at Hotel Brasilito how to get to Playa Minas!

    I thought the “w” & Westin share a private a beach ?

    • @SaltTravelCo
      @SaltTravelCo  Před rokem

      Hi BB! Luckily, in Costa Rica there are NO private beaches, allowing them to be enjoyed by all. Playa Conchal is open to everyone although access to the public is via the beach at nearby Brasilito.
