- Hello to you,
I had a busy week at University and thought I would bring you along. Writing an essay and doing an internship at the library...
Hope you are having a marvelous time,
Luise
Hello!!! ❤ I can't believe there's another person studying comp.lit in Vienna on CZcams. How amazing! I'd love to meet you. Love your aesthetic. On top op all of that, I'm actually learning Norwegian at the moment.
How exciting! I am so glad you found my channel. I just saw your Vienna Meet up Announcement, I’ll get in touch if I can make time! ✨
You live and study in one of the most beautiful cities in the world! The library is simply magnificent! Thanks for sharing.
so calming 😌
I recently visited Vienna and I loved it so much, one of my favorite cities I have ever been to. I’m from the United States, but I would live in such a beautiful country as Austria is. Nice channel!
So beautiful I loved it ❤😊
I am glad I've found your channel!
Thank you! I am happy you like it 🥰
You're brilliant.
Im also working as a library assistant at my uni library as well as volunteering as a stock assistant with a public library (based in UK) and i love how stimulating and enriching but also therapeutic the role of a librarian can be. That porridge you made looked amazingg as well! i love how much you can experiment with porridge, its a staple in so many diverging cultures for good reason haha. Thanks to the youtube algorithm for helping me stumble on ur channel , greeting from England ;)
Thank you, what a lovely comment! Yes, it does have something very soothing but it‘s not boring ✨ my exact thoughts, porridge can go in so many directions, I also like savory versions!
deeply obsessed with your channel !! i’m planning a trip to europe for the fall and i am going to go to vienna for the first time and i’m using your channel as inspiration on places to go and to get excited for my trip !!!!
That is so lovely to hear! Anything in particular you are interested in? The National Library is definitely a visit worth if you like libraries 🥰
@@luise_marianne definitely libraries and cafes in which to write !!!! i would LOVE to check out the national library !
Hey, I'm from Brazil!!! This is the first vlog I'm watching and I'm loving it. 🇧🇷🇧🇷
Thank you so much! Glad you like it 🥰 Greetings to Brazil 😍
I love it video 😍😍
This was so peaceful and calming ❤❤❤❤ keep going 😊
Thank you so much ✨
Hello! I am so happy that I’ve found your channel. My rec for citation is using a software, can be EndNote or Zotero. Ask your Uni, perhaps they pay any of those. You can use an extension for word, it helps you to cite in different styles and automatic generates the Reference list 😊
Thank you! I have tried Zotero but haven‘t had the time to get used to it but people keep telling me how helpful it is, maybe I need to give it a second go 😁
Thank you for your channel, I'm enjoying your content and videos. I'm sure you're very busy with your studies, work internship, so I appreciate you taking the time to do CZcams. I'm in the US, and we have several different accents/dialects here. You speak English better than me. Thanks.
Thank you for your kind words 🥰🥳 all the best!
hello, your channel and you are soo lovely!! I would like to see more about your university. About the question you ask, I live in Turkey and we also have so many dialectic differences around the country!
Thank you so much! Turkish is such a cool language, I hear it often since there is a big Turkish population in Austria, but I don‘t understand it unfortunately. All the best!
I studied comparative literature in Vienna years ago! So fun to look back. I was an exhange student from Sweden. I can understand Norwegian but not outside Oslo, the dialects can be very hard to understand. Some Swedes probably can understand. We have a lot of different dialects in Sweden too and it can be hard for some people to understand Skånska, which is the dialect in the south of Sweden, I don't have a problem but some have :)
How nice! Did you enjoy it? ✨
Yes, the dialects in Norway can be so hard, for me as a foreigner it can get very frustrating when I feel like I technically did learn the language but outside of Oslo I don‘t understand much 😄 but with practice it‘s fine, unfortunately I haven‘t had the opportunity to stay in Norway long enough. Swedish is also so lovely, it was a tough choice for me to choose between Norwegian and Swedish 😁
In Brazil, each region uses its own dialect, but some people criticize it a lot, thinking they are more “intelligent” because of it. Excellent video!
That is so sad, in Austria it is similar but I try to use my dialect either way, maybe people will get used to it more and a new connotation emerges after some time. Thank you for your comment!
@@luise_marianne Yes, me too! ❤️
Wonderful channel and beautiful video 💗 New subscriber! I'm from Uruguay :)
Thank you so much 🥰 I love how international this community is, that‘s so awesome!
Iam from egypt and yes dialects here have a bit of stigma -if you will- around them
im coming to vienna on exchange next year!! :)--- i love your jewelry btw
How exciting! Where are from?
Thank you 🥰
You will be successful one day.
I'm Spanish and we Spaniards also have a huge variety of languages. In my region, in Valencia, we can speak Valencian but of course also Spanish as in all the country. But you can go to Galicia and they speak Galician which is close to portuguese and then in the Basque country which is another region they speak euskera which is a language that anyone knows it's origin, also in Catalonia they speak catalan which is similar to Valencian. And of course we have different accents when we speak Spanish , as in Catalonia, Canary islands or Andalusia. Loved the video! And I've also loved to read all the comments, this comment section is pretty international. Have you been to Spain btw? Best wishes from Spain!!
That‘s really interesting! I have only been to Barcelona once but really loved it and hope to see other places as well in the future. Do you have a favourite region?
Linguistics is always dry, don't worry. Just write things you can prove / with a ton of references, and linguists will be happy as a cucumber (yes, I'm a linguist XD). I assure you that scholars almost tend to look more to references than the paper itself; they're curious to see if there's some text that you have read and they haven't.
I love that approach 😂👌
Hi!! I love your videos they're so cozy and elegant :) would you recommend the Scandinavian studies BA at Wien uni? I've been thinking about it cause I've always wanted to learn Scandinavian languages but it seems like it might be more about linguistics rather than literature? I'm currently doing a BA in English and prefer literature studies over linguistics. I don't particularly care about dialects etc but I'd love to learn more about Scandinavian lit.
Thank you :) I can recommend it but the linguistic parts are hard and definitely not why I started it in the first place and there is no way around it^^ I am a literature girl as well! There is also a big part with old norse, where you learn about the viking age and a lot of interesting history context but you also have to translate old nordic texts which was a big challenge for me. I would say the studies are divided into three parts: linguistics, old norse and literature and they are equally important. The most wonderful thing about the department is the community, I made some live long friendships there, there are so many events like handcraft meet ups, a theater group, a newspaper, language breakfasts where you can practice your scandinavian language (and you really have the opportunity to get fluent), lots of feasts for any occasion and it feels like a little family but obviously you can‘t only study for the community and also have to enjoy the subject. Maybe check out the course offers and topics on u:find so you get a picture of what you would get yourself into ✨
@luise_marianne I did look into the course topics and some look really interesting while others don't but oh well :) Thanks for replying, this actually sounds really nice, especially about the community! Practicing Scandinavian languages with other students certainly sounds like fun. Old norse and history do seem like interesting topics so maybe in light of this linguistics isn't so bad... I'm going to keep thinking about it but overall this definitely made it sound quite fascinating!
My dream city.
Where are you from? Have you been to Vienna? :)
You're so delicate.
😊
Hi hi lovely video! Can I ask which camera/microphone/ program to edit are you using? the quality is reaaaally good ❤😊
Thank you! It‘s funny because I simply use my iphone SE (which has it’s limits but it works for now) and a small microphone the Rode SmartLav which I boight second hand. My editing program is microsoft cut, I just had it on my computer but I can‘t recommend it I just haven‘t had the time to get used to a new one. 🥰
I'm from Italy and here dialects are regarded as proper languages. Being form the north west, if I hear someone from the south speak one of their dialects I understand pretty much nothing
Do people also use their dialects in public areas or is it more common to use a standard variety so everyone can understand?
🤍😅
., I fell in love with you ❤.
Kan je dit verstaan? Is niet echt Duits, niet? Misschien ook een dialect? Veel succes met de studies!
I am afraid it‘s a bit too far away from my german dialect. I only grasp a few words. Where are you from? :)
@@luise_marianne It's not German but Dutch. I'm from Belgium
@@671021748 I thought so! How easy is it for you to understand German? Do you grasp a lot?
@@luise_marianne Well I learned German. But without training I think Flemish people understand Geman 90% if they talk slowly. It is very similar.
Sry, but I almost get PTSD just from looking at a few scenes. Gosh, for me, being a student at that University was horrible. Absolutely no money for food or accommodations. Spending hours upon hours on the train or at the library or at work while studying mostly useless things... I wish you all the best though. You seem to have a much nicer time there and I'm glad that's the case.
I am sorry to hear that your experience was so negative. I haven‘t always had a good time at Uni either especially when I did my exchange semester in Scotland but I am really glad that things have shifted now for me. All the best!
Take help of chatgpt
I would rather write it myself and know it is my own accomplishment ✨
don't use AI to write your essays, ok?
Absolutely not, even if I am close to a deadline I wouldn‘t go there. It‘s part of the challenge to write it myself and be proud when I accomplish it ✨
Vienna is grossly racist! Definitely the most racist place I have ever been in Europe. It’s a shame because it’s beautiful 😢
I am sorry you experienced it that way… really doesn‘t sound like a memorable trip then
