  • We spend a full day at the Medieval Center in Lolland, Denmark. The Middelaldercentret is a super cool place for kids, families, and adults. You get an immersive experience with the chance to talk to living historians. With a range of volunteers, you are bound to learn a ton about the Medieval times as you walk through the old city, watch a joust, or learn how to be a archer.
Also, the trebuchet is amazing! It is a rare sight to see one in action!

Middelalder Centret, a great place to spend time; speaking from experience, especially if you have younger boys! 😉
The fireball trebuchet is so cool at the end of the season, when the evenings start to get a little darker...👍
Have you been to Knuthenborg Park?
    - not far from the Center
If you enjoyed yourselves, you should go to Ribe. The Viking Center there is worth visiting...where you get another taste of historic Denmark 😃

How adorable. My mom used to care for some of the horses used in the jousts in the off-season. It was always fun because those beasts are enormous and my mom is like 155. It's incredible how many volunteers it takes to keep that place running.

Red Hair a bow almost like Merida from Brave.
Also fun to see how Maya puffed up proudly as you told us all her instructions were in danish :D
And it is fun shooting a bow, used to do it before backproblems prevented me, I would recommend people to try it out, does require some good concentration and it is really relaxing.
Lastly, if you havent, next time you come across/visit Fyn, you should visit Den Fynske Landsby if you are interested in old timie history.

Good and interesting video, thank you very much.
Middelaldercentret is an awesome place to learn about the everyday lives of the people back then.
I'm a bit of a medieval nerd, so I found this video particularly interesting.
Considering the tools and technology available at the time, it's amazing what they could craft and do
The art sword duelling is a thing, it's called HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts), so Maya is absolutely right about it being like a martial arts style ^^
It's super fun and very good exercise, I'm the same age as Josh, so I'll never be really good at it, but it's still really fun
I hope you all have a nice weekend

Many years ago they found remnants of a ship in a canal on Falster, in Bødø! It is a combined version of a flat bottom, German Kogge and a Viking ship in the top, so they expected it to become rather known internationally. But as no foreigner would be able to pronounce "Bødø", they changed its name to "Gedesby skibet"! I think they have a rebuilt copy at Middelalder Centeret? 😅

Yo you'll love what I'm about to tell you then. There are dedicated Falconry places all over Denmark with shows and experiences. One even allows you to hold one the birds for an upcharge. That's the one on Samsø btw. But yeah they're great and most of them feature a vast variety of birds from Owls to Vultures. American Bald Eagles are also a part of a lot of the shows and are quite popular with the public (thanks American media and all its patriotism)
But anyways, here are a few dedicated places with shows that I know of:
      Falkonergården (Fredensborg, North Zealand)
      Bornholms Rovfugleshow (Nyker, Bornholm)
