  • We had a wonderful day on the island of Omø - en.wikipedia.o.... We met a ton of wonderful people, made some fiskefrikadeller, ate fish and chips, got to ride a speedboat, and learned about the lighthouse. Oh, we also had a great meal at sunset at Omø Perlen - www.omoeperlen....
    It was really a fantastic day and we can't wait to come back again. Thanks for everything Martin!!

    17:14 -- We have a saying for this in Denmark! If you see someone with mismatched buttons on their shirt, we say "du har knappet til brændevin" ("at knappe til brændevin" - "to button for brandy"). It's in reference to sailors buttoning their shirts to leave a pouch for their hip flasks usually containing brandy or schnapps. So now you have that Danish saying in your arsenal - "buttoned for brandy" or "knappet til brændevin" :D
    Love the video as usual, it's so sweet that Maya's boyfriend introduced Bobby into her life. All the best

    Kyllingesalat is a bit ambiguous - it could refer to a salad with chicken with some dressing maybe or the kind Maya got. However, the proper name of what she got is "Hønsesalat" and with that there is no ambiguity.
    It does seem rather heavy to just eat hønsesalat without rugbrød 😅

  • @dannyweawer73
    @dannyweawer73 Před 3 lety

    Usually when served as smørrebrød, it’s Named hønsesalat (hen salad) , but everyone uses chicken today, because we don’t have to eat an Old hen anymore. I would ask next time, even though most people would expect a chickensalad , like Maya did.

    Thanks once again for a great video, of another spot of the “paradise.” Called Denmark. I think it was a shame that you didn’t tried fiskefrikadellerne that is one of the nice dishes to eat with Remoulade and rye bread. Some how the salad that Maya got very much reflects Joshua’s view on the great belt bridge - both had some thing to do with chicken. On the other hand Maya might have to get a refund on the tuition fee for biology since she constantly refers to her stuffed cow as him named Bob - maybe you should tell her that cow’s are female, where as male animals of that kind is. referred to as bulls ore bull calf’s.
    But at least the cucumber time is over.

    Skinkesalat =ham salat. You need to read up on danish history,in the old days farmers used to work for the rich,and that why the houses are concregated in small towns (landsby)housing were part off the payment for their work. Around 1750 farmers began getting their own land as part of payment for their work and they began moving out off the "landsby" the big rush was in the late 1800s and the beginning off 1900.

    Damn....I worry about your health sometimes, you really should exercise 30 min everyday or 60 min every other day, you can even go 1,5 hours every 3 days. Your body will feel and work like a dream, food tastes better and it also makes drinking alcohol feel a whole lot better to, you simply get the full experience. Plus a lot of health benefits in general, more energy, better concentration, better immunesystem and these things make you happy 😊 only do exercise you like to do, otherwise it gets to be a chore. Do yourself a favor and search the internet for health benefits of exercise it is AMAZING the impact it has on the body, examples - up to 2 liters more blood, stronger heart in every way, pumps out more blood per contraction and with more force, the volume of blood your heart can hold and pump out is bigger, the puls or sinus rythm becomes more stabil and strong/clear and prevents heart attacks, your arteries also become more elastic, which propagates the flow of blood around the whole body and prevents blood clots, prevents and betters diabetes...hope you can use this for something positive in your life, CHEERS !
