Bruce Springsteen jams with harmonica kid at Syracuse concert

Bruce Springsteen played harmonica with 7-year-old fan Joe Kearsing of Liverpool, N.Y., during “The Promised Land” at the Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band concert at the JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse on April 18, 2024. Joe, wearing a “Born to Run”-era leather jacket and playing a toy harmonica, was gifted a real harmonica by The Boss after the surprise duet.
“It was just a really, really awesome moment,” said Joe’s dad Mark Kearsing, who was holding up Joe during the song.
Springsteen also gave a guitar pick to Joe’s older brother, James, who was dressed in a “Born in the U.S.A.” style white T-shirt and blue jeans.
