- All sounds from one of the latest KDE 3 versions (sometime in 2007).
The "newer" sounds were made by Artemiy Pavlov in 2004 (files with .ogg extension), older ones before the KDE 3.3 release (files with .wav extension).
Download: mega.nz/#!3PZw...
Trivia: KDE 3.3-3.5 uses 3rd variation of logout sound by default.
1:16 KDE_Logout_1 sounds more like a login sound to me, and so does KDE_Logout_3.
Maybe it's due to the melody ending on a conclusive progression.
1:55 KDE_Startup_3 nailed its job :D
1:39 this should be nice
logout 3 kinda sounds like a windows xp sound does it?
btw, KDE_Logout_1 sounds like Shutdown
1:39
KDE News
yes
Haha dat made me laugh...
Underused meme.
But still. That makes me laugh so loud.
Bruh
1:24 thats sounds like a windows xp sound
I loved the KDE startup sound "KDE_Startup_1" (1:39)
How would you configure this for start up? Do you know? Thanks.
@@barkingbandicoot even I'm looking for a way, did you get to know
@@helixwletcher4703 No.
@@barkingbandicoot aww, alright buddy
On KDE Plasma 5 you just would download the sound, thwn open system settings, click configure, find plasma workspace, and then change the login sound
Some stupid trivia:
Some of these sounds were used in the children's game "Tux Paint" for Linux, Windows, and Macintosh. (The game was similar to "Kid Pix" but was open source I think)
I know this because I used the program when I was young.
I thought TuxPaint has different sounds, well maybe they were included in older versions. I'm pretty sure I used this program back in '09.
Some of the ones I know being used were:
"Bottles" Beep
Event 4
Event 5
Pop(?)
The typewriter sounds
Water Drop
Ha, I just noticed too!
@@Leadready KDE 3's Glass Break is also used.
0:52 That could make an amogus music
STOP.
FUCK I CAN'T UNHEAR IT!
Thanks for uploading this video, especially because it's hard to preview all the sounds in the sound event settings in KDE3/TDE.
KDE_Logout_1, KDE_Startup_1, KDE_Startup_2 and KDE_Startup_3 kinda sounds like it's from a news station or something.
This is Cody from KDE, reporting
Nice find! Glad to hear all of these in one place.
I miss these.
Q4OS as a fork of Kde 3 , Named Trinity Desktop
2:32 Those sounds are the best!
I LOVE THE KDE STARTUP 3 AT 1:56!!! 😇
It's the first computer-generated sound I ever heard.. should not think about this was on my first computer like 12 years ago.
Some sounds made through stock sounds in CZcams videos
1st sound is "K3b Error". It goes like this. Wah Wah Wah Wah.
It sounds similar to the BSOD on Windows Vista Parody by Stephen Phillips. BTW here's the Video czcams.com/video/Gn31i3JAMp8/video.html
THANK YOU SO MUCH I WAS SEARCHING WHOLE FUCKING INTERNET FOR ABOUT DECADE!!!
i love KDE Startup (newer) | Startup

It makes me remind about some old good times when I was young and jokie. Thanks! )
Might soon make a sparta remix of KDE sounds
Hi mondy, big fan of your twitter concepts
@@the_mariocrafter Way to do that through an old comment of mine. Thanks anyways :p
KDE Chimes remind me of XP and Vista...
Fact: They were copying KDE's design in Vista and 7
@@JakeSmith-fz9fp Yeah, it wasn't even subtle… but nobody said anything…
Also events
@@JakeSmith-fz9fp the same person who helped design windows xp icons helped with this too I think
I wish Plasma (weil kwin really) had sounds for Windows Action still
1:39 is my favorite

I love KDE
It looks cool and it's easy
also i like sounds of KDE 3. They sound better than Windows ones

LMAO, this is the BSOD Sound from Windows Vista Parody by Stephen Phillips
1:47 Slax of 2010.
No, 2010 was KDE Plasma 4
1:09 when i make my own computer/phone os called Kuriosity, this is going to be the sound when it is on low battery.
@etruongs7 I think
@@theasin_old Same. KDE team usually start his project name with letter K or if it didn't fit, It'll replace C with K. If there isn't, they'll add letter K at the start for example, KMail
A Mix of windows 98, XP, and Vista sounds. How lovely.
0:25 "Nie mam czasu użerać się z jakąś starą kwoką" - Leopold, rok 2009
0:31 oooh sounds so nice
1:38 is The best sound
Did you know that kopete still use old sounds
Kinda sad how this wasn't as popular as windows.
Why today every company removes system sounds?
They're still there, just go to System Settings > Notifications > Configure...
Note: KDE is a foundation, KDE e.V. is a company
@@tigranbutcallmetiko2418an e.V. (eingetragener Verein) isn't really a company, it's more like a club/organization. A company works to earn profits; an organization doesn't "need" the money per se, it's more of a "nice-to-have" to financially support the members and the movement itself
watching on linux mint with kde 5
Did someone notice that the Kubuntu logo on the background is very slowly spinning counterclockwise?
Edit:Sorry,my autocorrect is broken.
It's the KDE 3.3-3.5 logo actually
@@feandesign Yeah. I meant that.

I know some of these sounds from WNR!
KDE Logon newer?
Yes
I hate when those people take sounds from Linux, it is the downside of the freedom license I guess
Tigran Khachatryan yea
Tigran Khachatryan And this is 2 years ago, :P
Babciu, to jest zajebiste.
@Valente Espinosa "Grandma, this is fucking awesome"
We could make a whole song using only the desktop sounds...

1:50 Chương trình *Quảng Cáo*
1:16 Xin mời xem tiếp *Chương Trình*
Playing the desktop_x-sounds in a row gives a nice melody oO xD.
I associate these sounds with my very first (but terrible) experience with Linux....
Back then, I installed SuSE from a CD that was part of a computer magazine.
It had the look and feel of an ugly WinXP-ripoff for poor boys and wasn't very stable.
KDE was crowded and cluttered. Multiple different applications for the same task. Buttons and switches everywhere, waiting for some clicks with a clunky fat mouse cursor. A deep Windows-like start panel with pagination.
Many bugs. I remember some simple tasks didn't work properly (i.e. playing a media file).
...And those sounds monstrous sound effects^^.
I removed that ugly beast from my hard drive and re-installed Windows XP.
Since then I didn't try any Linux distribution for long time.
Today, Ubuntu is my main OS since... (when Win 8.0 was chopped off again?)...
I don't want to go back to Windows. It would be like a time-travel straight into medieval ages to me.
I notice this everytime I'm forced to use that OS. This is missing, that is missing... an extra application for this... an extra application for that... a "terminal" where the only working commands are "c:/>format c:" and "rm -rf c:/windows".
Win10 is the worst Windows ever. My experience with that were similar with SuSE.
But more the other extreme: Sterile, confusing and over-simplified!
It was a stranger in my computer for a couple of weeks, then I've abandoned it.
0:22 what my friend always say (KDE_Beep_Yo)
May you try putting all KDE 5 sounds?
That's what my father use to make in the late 00s.
tengo una duda, habrá una forma de incorporar los viejos sonidos de KDE 3 a Plasma, seria interesante volver a tener los sonidos clásicos, pero no se como hacerlo, si conocen alguna forma seria genial
0:23 What is that used for?
It's probably an equivalent to Windows "Default" sound.
would like to make these as a remix. noice, btw
some of its sounds are from Mandriva
It's because Mandriva always used KDE as a default desktop environment.
I revisited the comment
what was I thinking back then?
Oh well, my past self.
1:22 - 1:47 that’s the sound that I use for Mario OS scratch project!
Some of the sounds remind me of Windows 7... The newer shade sounds remind me of the dialog sounds for Win7 (Exclamation/Question) And the startups kind of remind me of Windows XP a bit with the piano and strings 🙂
If there was a sound option for mousing over an item to highlight it, I would maybe pick one of the beepy sounds to play for that event 🙂
Noice
Bruh this is fucking insane💀
Nice video :)
fean, are you interested in Linux?
Yeah I even tried to make my own distro :)
Where can i find some distros with KDE 3?
Your best bet would be either archive.org or the original distro's site, as long as they store old releases on their servers. Usually they do.
@@feandesign Oh thats smart :-D. Thanks btw.
I know a Q4OS distro that uses Trinity (KDE 3 fork) as a desktop environment
boy they sound like FL Studio Soundpacks
noice, make a remix
Startup and shutdown
do i have permission from you to use this?
Those sounds are not owned by him and you can freely use them as they are free to use.
please upload new download link. Its not accessible anymore
Yes such thing as a garage sale of video games these days. EBay and Amazon killed all that. Today if somebody has video games they put them up online and get the full price for them. Makes collecting games these days extremely expensive

Um.......... I don't like these sounds
Windows are better, Believe me.
I personally like KDE sounds more, but everyone has other likings.
I mean startup sound
The Startup sounds from Kubuntu 9.04 and Windows 2000 (Beta 3 Build 2000 And Final) are my favorites.
At least you can customize more (including all the sounds) without 3rd party programs
