- Franky the Vizsla is almost 3 years old and has been coming to the farm since he was 7 months old. We’ve known many Vizslas and they’re always a high energy dog especially in their prime at 3 years old, but Franky kind of takes it to another level. And if you know Luke, he loves that. Luke really feeds off the dogs positive energy, and Franky sure has truck loads of it.
Franky is good at everything. You know how last week we talked about Bandit liking to take new activities slow and learn how to do them first and master the game before he fully commits? Well Franky is the opposite. Franky doesn’t ask questions, he just does. He’s a man of action. He doesn’t want to waste time, he’s just thinking about how fun it’ll be. He’s fast, he’s agile, he’s a great swimmer, diver, runner. He’s got a nose on him that’ll search out any treat or toy or Uncle Luke in a rabbit suit.
And Franky is affectionate. He loves as hard as he plays. Big and all in, no holding back. He gives whole body cuddles and full face kisses. He’s a dog that gives you his all in everything he does and how could you not love that??
That was funny. Frankie is fabulous!
I dearly love watching Frankie and the other Vizslas. Don’t you realize by now you are his personal squeak toy! 😁

My niece and her husband are owned by a Viszla, and he is so much like Frankie! Always all in, no matter what! They live in Pennsylvania. When he saw his 1st snow, he couldn't get enough of that either!
If I may brag about my viszla mix. She is a rescue. I have had her since she was about 2 years old she is getting a little grey around the muzzle now. She is not as wild as Franky, and weighs just under 40 pounds. Whoever had her first scared her ( abuse? I don’t know ). She was afraid of everything originally. She is animated and vibrant. She wags her tail as soon as one of us walks into the room. She is a cuddle bug. She has a very expressive face and will wiggle with her whole body. She steals toys of of the other ( shelties) dogs, not to be possessive, rather because she LOVES to run and she wants someone to chase her. The shelties do not want any part of that game. She is a very very fast runner and very agile. She is beautiful with so many shades of golden brown and reddish brown in her short coat. Unlike a viszla, her ears are short and perky. She has the black eyeliner around her deep brown beautiful and expressive eyes. She is emotionally sensitive and very smart. Such a super sweetie pie! She loves her toys and fetch. She does not bring the ball back though. What are her negative traits??? None.

Franky is awesome to watch 👌 and Luke appreciates and caters for all their personalities. However, it makes me grateful I have a very chill dog. After play they sleep. Lol Frankie is in the perfect place to expend that happy silly energy, we wouldnt want you to be any other way sweet boy.

We live with four of these loving, exuberant (an understatement) and easy care dogs. They really do mean HIGH ENERGY!!! They sleep just as hard. Raised with and love cats. Love people.
