I've noticed that the organs Gert plays always sound so good...I'm thinking the common element is Gert. Heel Goed, young man.
"Großer Gott, wir loben dich" oder auf Latein "Te deum laudamus", die Melodie stammt von Heinrich Bone. In den katholischen Gemeinden wurde dieses Lied bis in die 80er Jahre voller Inbrunst gesungen, dass die Kirchenwände wackelten. Ich bekomme immer noch Gänsehaut, wenn ich nur die Fantasie über dieses Lied höre. Wunderschön gespielt! Passend zum Lied und genau so, wie es sich gehört. Goed gedaan. Dank u wel!

Terry. Missed you at last night's concert. Are you OK? Carl and one of the Keiths were absent too. You are not on FB, so have had to contact you this way. Unfortunately the concety stopped early last night, due to technical problems. Apparently someone tried to hack them. So sad. There will be a concert next week. Stay safe.
Hi Anne, I thought yesterday was Wednesday, plus I had issues going on that demanded my immediate attention and threw me off my game. My reminder alert kept saying concert live in 22 hours, fortunately, I kept checking to see what songs he would play for Thursday concert and to my shock, it said Live now. I did come in late and did not want to disrupt the others already in the chat so I was there until the feed kept freezing up and the music was coming in intervals and then it just disappeared. I was disappointed but I thought the weather was bad there and it was so I thought Mother Nature interrupted the concert. Not sure about them being hacked, I missed that part. If you like I can send you my email address. No, I am not on facebook and I will explain why later. 🤗Thank you so much for contacting me, you don't know how much I appreciated it. I still donated since I had at least 20 minutes of music. :)

i still can't, i just still can't get how in the world can he do all this simultaneously to make such beautiful music. He's pretty much the keeper/preserver of a dying art. And trying to preserve this type of art is extremely difficult, but Gert makes it look oh so simple
We have quite a few like him in the Netherlands. Not a dying artform in our part of the world

He gave me site: orders@gertvanhoef.nl I got through immediately and have already sent my donation for this week and several weeks past. I base my payment on what I would pay to see him play in Hanley. At the moment I am saving on theatre tickets snd lattes! I think that no one deserves my support more than this incredible young man. Your music is always wonderful especially with pieces that feature Lutheran hymn tunes like this one. Showing different areas of this church was also wonderful as it lets the viewers realize exactly where the manuals for the instrument are and you are very close to some of the pipes.
This is a version of the German hymn "Großer Gott wir loben Dich" , which is known also in English as "Holy God we praise thy Name". For what is worth this way of reasoning, is a Catholic hymn coming from Austria.
This is probably a tracker organ. Manuals are placed close to the case as they are connected by trackers, wooden rods, to the valves that operate the pipes.
It's in the Lutheran Book of Worship yes, but also many other hymnals.😃🖒👍
