You must not have any children, iof you think a child adds more than $300 to a family budget a month. He was paying MORE than a child adds to cost of living. He shouldnt be forced to help her pay for a house, a car, her clothes, her food, her utilities, or anything else she is blowing his money on. After she pays everything she would already pay for as an adult living in the world, the add on for the child is minimal.

No it isnt. That woman is NOT spending $800 on *1* child per month.
The mother would be paying her rent, regardless of whether she has a child or not.The Father should not be forced to pay the mother to take care of her own child. The ONLY thing he should be liable for is help with food, and help with clothing. Either he or she, should be forced to carry health care for the child, but that should be a bill, not a cash payment to the mother.
Child support is a scam. The woman made a choice to have a baby with a Man she was not married to. Child support should be just that, support for the CHILD, not a subsidy to the mother. I have children, and they do not add much to the basic costs of living.
"Dont buy a house then, buddy". What a petty, childish, ignorant, statement to make. He has 3 more children. They need a house. This woman, who has a job, and a new partner, should be taking care of their own household, instead of leaching off the Father, taking away from his other children.
Again, child support is a scam. The States force the Fathers to pay ludicrous amounts to the mother, because the State is reimbursed every single dollar they order, by the Fed Gov. Not only is the State profiting off this scam, the Judges pension fund is funded by the child support reimbursements.
The ONLY way for child support to be legitimate, is for women who where divorced by their husbands. Single mothers should NEVER get child support. It has become a career choice for irresponsible women, who refuse to get off their lazy as*es and take care of themselves. Take away the nonsensical safety net, and women would start making responsible decisions regarding who they sleep with, and who they allow to impregnate them. Single mothers are the most detrimental people in society. Giving them a financial incentive to become single mothers, is leading to the destruction of society as a whole, and damaging MILLIONS of children.

I took my ex to court to get full sole custody of our daughter. I was awarded full custody and he did not have to pay child support. She was six when I was awarded sole custody and he never paid a dime in child support from birth to six years. I was a surgeon, and I knew I could take care of my daughter financially without his help. She is now grown, a college graduate and scientist with a family of her own. I gifted her a fully paid for, fully furnished four bedroom four bathroom three-story house when they announced that they were pregnant with twins. My ex after 20+ years of silence suddenly calls her. He found out that she was now a home owner and he needed a place to live.( I have no idea who told him) He told her that he was homeless, an alcoholic and living on the streets in Philly. He reminded her that he was her father, and that she should help him. My daughter has not seen her father since she was six years old. I made sure he always knew where we lived and what her phone number was. He never called her and when she would call his number, he would not answer. It was not my place to make any kind of suggestion, and I told my daughter to pray about it. She called me recently and informed me that she did not allow her father to come live with her because she knows nothing about him. I just finished paying my ex husband $179/WEEK for one teenage boy. Plus I gave him the house when we divorced. I never objected. He consistently tried to get more money from me. I told him to let me know what my son needs and I will buy it. Suddenly, he didn't need anything. I had no problem supporting my son but I wasn't about to support my ex because he's a lazy ass.

I have full custody of my daughter. My ex said the same thing to me (just tell me what she needs and I’ll get it). Never worked. She would always try to justify a reason my kid doesn’t need the stuff I’m requesting. And it was always like pulling teeth. Additionally, it’s difficult to always “wait” for her to buy things. Often times what I want to get for my kid is spare of the moment. We’ll go out and she’ll want to buy an outfit and a meal. Now what am I suppose to do? Call my ex and ask her to Venmo me cash so I can buy it? She isn’t answering so now what do I do? Well obviously I use my money. Child support just makes sense.

The courts should have NO say in child support. Fathers should support their children on their own. So UNTIL there is a finding of facts that prove the father or mother have not been supporting their children the court should have NO say! Does a court tell parents who are together they have to spend X amount of dollars on their kids ? NO. So why should they order support once the family is broken/ divorced? It’s SIMPLE , because child support is a multi billion dollar a year business. COURTS DONT CARE ABOUT KIDS. DIVORCE IS A BUSINESS FOR THEM. The courts go through leaps and bounds to order child support but do ZERO investigation to make sure the money is spent on the children.

My girls are 23 and 20. When they were 3.5 and 1 an order was put in for support for my ex-husband. I received literally 3 payments of 80 dollars. Then they said he couldn't be "found". Over the years he was arrested dozens of times in over 10 states. Despite being in and out of the system, nobody ever seemed to be able to keep track of him. To this day, the case sits idle, archived (who knows). The amount he owes is over 120K dollars. My girls are fine- one a forensic biologist and the other is in her 2nd year of nursing school. I look at the arrears money and think about how they could have both been put through college and come out 100% debt free. I have little sympathy for fathers OR mothers who think their financial comforts are more important than their kids.

As a single father of a 13 year old, I can promise u that it doesn’t cost 800 a month to support a kid. I spend maybe 400 and that’s with allowance and entertainment. I make good money too. I have full custody of my kid. This poor guy. Why isn’t mom working??!?!? Wtf find a job! Also dad needs to get more overnights but not just cause child support!

If I add up bills, clothes, food, etc. that I pay for my kids, it's easily most of my take home pay and I make good money. I'd love to know where you're living that $400 is sufficient to support one child much less multiple kids like in this scenario.

A good attorney is crucial in Cs cases, especially when the case is with the AG's office. The custodial parent has representation, so believe me, the non-custodial better have a rep too....and a good one.
For only $1,500 our attorney saved my husband well over $67,000 in additional child support. That doesn't even include the medical support he never had to pay.
A good attorney will keep it out of the IV kangaroo court. Ours delayed the case going to court for over 10 years.
By the time the AG sued my husband, we had two kids of our own. So the calculation went from 20% of his income, down to 16%.
The case was put in family court where we had a sympathetic judge. The AG wanted my husband to pay almost $800 a month in cs.
Because of some smooth dealing, my husband only paid $364 a month. He didn't have to pay medical support, and no extras.
Our attorney put the ex on the stand and showed her for the POS that she is and the judge said he would not hear this case in his court again.
In concluusion, the case could never be heard again, husband only paid a fraction of what he would have based on his income, and no medical support.
The amount he saved us is very likely over $80,000.
A non custodial can't afford not to hire an attorney.

You know, it's not easy to get custody in this scenario. My husband has an ex like this. She never worked, stayed on public assistance, and kept having kids. CPS was frequently involved.
He was paying a boatload of child support for over a decade, well over $100K. He had to fight tooth and nail to see or even call the kids, and we had to fly to court several times to get summer/holiday visitation on paper. (Mom took the kids and fled to a state 1000 miles away, then actively alienated them. They all have PTSD from it.)
After a court-ordered Christmas visit in 2020-the first time a Christmas visit had ever been allowed-the kids decided they wanted to come live with us. We're a healthy family with normal-range parents. Their mother flipped out that she wouldn't get child support anymore because she couldn't afford to support her other kids. My husband suggested, perhaps she should get a job? More flipping out. He agreed to continue paying child support even when the kids moved in with us, just to get them out of that abusive household.
Their mother followed the kids to our state a month later. 10 months after that, she ran one state away after an arrest for DV here. When she left the state, my husband was granted an emergency custody order due to abandonment. Child support was terminated, and their mother *still* asks to borrow money more than a year later.
    Children are NOT paychecks!
