Like I've been saying for weeks, Shep isn't going anywhere! Management loves him, coaches love him, players love him and fans LOVE HIM! He'll be an assistant coach next year for sure
What's so great about him. We ain't winning with him and haven't for years always injured and a waste of 40 million dumb move keeping him so he can sit out every game or every other game cause a hair got pulled out his leg now that he is injury prone and he ain't nowhere near a moss lever we to keep him
chiapets… while I don’t entirely disagree with you, I think every knowledgeable Giants fan will take exception with your ‘everytime a hair is pulled’ he goes on the IL depiction.
His injuries have been MAJOR! Achilles … ACL…/ 4-5 concussions,
I feel like he’s one concussion away from drinking meals through a straw for the rest of his life.
Besides, this entire episode is based on a ridiculous hypothetical which began on … wait for it… Bleacher Report!!
So this is a GIANT NothingBurger. The fans do love Shep, we’d love for him to be 100% healthy and productive for the entire season, & he would probably be the most productive WR on the team. But what are the odds that he stays healthy for an entire season?
@@Willie_McBrideThey aren't exciting,but players like Shep and Beasley are always open and catch everything. They can't stretch the field or make people miss, but they can get to the sticks and keep drives going.
@@ericbutler739 Shep has a bad habit of shorting his route before he gets to the sticks. It happens a lot. Nobody dislikes Shep but here is the point... if he is only one year away from hanging it up ...then it is time to hang it up. He never became the player that was expected when he was drafted out of Oklahoma. Now we have better alternatives.
@@frankgraham1996 I don't disagree with you at all. I'm all for guys with upside and a future. But they keep him around and made a move to get Beasley. Just reasoning it out. Maybe they wanted the experience for camp, teach and motivate the youngsters, Beasley looked sharp.

Shep definitely been bit by injury bug a few years . Hopefully this is cook 'em season , rooting for bro !!

He isn’t going anywhere. Even when he hangs up his cleats, he needs to stay as a coach. He is the heart of the Giants. Have you seen him on the sideline of any game last year?!?!

At this point in time, Shepard is a luxury to keep. He's simply not as good as his competition on the Giants either at the slot (W. Robinson) or wide (Hodgins, Slayton, Campbell). He has always been a nice posession guy, especially on third downs, but Hodgins is bigger, faster, and gets more separation, but Shep's biggest weakness has always been his lack of YAC's. He might be the worst YAC WR the Giants have had in decades. Yes, he's an exemplary teammate and locker room guy, but if you only go on performance, he will ride the bench most of the year. One more injury and we'll see him with a clipboard and baseball cap during games.

Because of what I've seen him do in practice this year so far, I'd keep Shepard. IF and only IF(of course praying he doesn't) he gets injured, I'd suggest he perhaps...retire and I would love to seem him retire into the coaching staff as a Giant. His energy on the sidelines help out a lot. I'm just saying.

You cant trade someone no one wants.. i would have cut him, and gave him season tickets. Theres no team looking to trade for him. Thats a joke like at one point Daniel Jones to be traded. No one else would have paid these guys. They both wouldnt be on my roster.
Nothing wrong with Daniel Jones right now. He'll throw for over 4000 yards this season now that the FO got him some players to throw to. Yes, he was poor when he had bad coaching, no o-line, and bad players as targets. He will be a top 10 QB this year, IMHO, as long as the o-line is adequate or better.
Sterling Shepard should have been gone last year. Chad's crazy for saying he's the best receiver on the roster.
