I love how they play heroic, glorious, inspiring music as Optimus commits the most brutal, heinous, horrible, inhumane war crimes imaginable
Can't be inhumane because he's not a human
"You DIE!"
Didn't we all watch him kill Megatron and semtinal and the fallan and even Unicron and lockdown and quintessa, all of whom have committed mass genocide, disregard life that isn't like there's,owned slaves, plotted to get slaves of earth, kill defenseless autobots for fun and ofcourse killed living breathing thinking beings becuase their "lesser" then them? That's racism at its finest and yet Optimus who simply killed a whole host of bad decepticons committed the most war crimes in 1 scene?
Btw ik it's a joke but for real tho consider it
And heads up every plot so far was about how can we kill off the humans the fastest? Also when I say kill autobots I do mean the execution scene and Megatron's spear scene and even some other scenes but for the sake of being a transformer fan I will say that it's perfectly in character and thus should be normal 😀

@@fjoltnyr2464 Yeah. If Megs was human, he'd probably have half his face completely covered with blood (and the other half dripping heavily), plus his digestive system would be still barely attaching his head to his body. (Many people would probably throw up at the thought of a guy having his head levered off with an axe, and part of his spine still hanging on, especially that the esophagus would also be attached and may not snap at all. A leader. A keeper of peace
It's a war and he's a leader, how tf would it looks to his soldiers if he was like "damn killing people is so sad why can't we all just be friends" like every other "hero" in movies and games. Plus in the heat of battle against the enemies who want to rip apart your dearest friends and enslave humanity I'd be more surprised if prime wasn't like "fuck you imma beat you to a pulp".
If there's one thing they did right in these movies (at least the early ones) they made prime a fucking force to be reckoned with. He takes on Megatron, starscream and the other dude in a 3v1, reduces one to begging for mercy, rips starscreams arm off and heavily wounds Megatron all while protecting Sam.
Peace has patience and patience has limits
@@Defnotdiablo How would it look to his soldiers? It'd probably make Optimus look, dare I say, inspiring? Like someone who doesn't simply want to destroy the enemy and win the win, but end conflict for his people? This Optimus is more like Kratos.
But I guess for the world that this series portrays, and the characters they have, I think making Optimus just a tad too blood thirsty is the best case scenario
@Bradley Sanders Seems like stories always get Prime's character wrong. In the new Netflix series he is exactly the weak leader you described, who is unwilling to make difficult decisions or take life, thus causing far more suffering through how ineffective he is (this is my least favorite way he can be written). In the Baymovies he is an unrelenting slaughter machine and the plot doesn't give him enough out-of-battle time to show him being a good leader, so we just have to take the story's word for it that he's a good guy. I disagree with you in how violent he is, he seems to relish the killing too much, but most of that is just an issue with lacking other story elements, and I'd rather him be too violent than not violent enough tbh. There need to be more well written transformers media, like the IDW comics, where Optimus is an even tempered leader who is very badass in battle, but he is also aware that he is fallable and tries to remove himself from becoming an idol, only to be caught in the esteem the Autobots hold for him. He's a powerful paragon hero who has to be tempered, kind of like Superman; he cant relish killing too much, but he also has to stick to have strong conviction and principles. Those comics did an amazing job of showing how he can step up and lead, but when he doesn't temper himself from his ego and desire for "freedom" he becomes what Megatron accuses him of being, which is a sanctimonious warmonger.

Basically a more pre-planned war torn prime that the bayverse just gave us with no planning prior or actual explanation and no saying he went through X Y and Z despite the films don't mention a change in behavior or acknowledgement in prime's mentality from any of the characters isn't a explanation.
czcams.com/video/n05JzwZy5XQ/video.htmlsi=Yzr9tC29k3-JU2JG I think this fan made stop motion perfectly shows what the bayverse films SHOULD of shown if they wanted to do war broken prime. Rotb doesn't show something on par with this but the very least they have mirage explain to Noah that optimus doesn't want to be on earth and the original opening further shows evidence of prime's reason for his increase violence
@@dmolegend1699 How exactly? Cause rotb prime told his autobots to avoid humans...which is...no different from what optimus literally tells his bots in tf4.
@Kaiju-bm4ts Optimus told the Autobots to avoid humans in TF4 because they were being hunted, in RotB, Optimus's only personal knowledge of humans is that one helped Bumblebee, nothing even bad, he just doesn't trust them because the movie wanted to give Optimus a character arc that meant literally NOTHING, Primes attitude and actions in that film had no consequences, so the "it's no different than TF4" argument is dumb. Mirage explaining that Optimus doesn't want to be on Earth and that's the reason for his change in behaviour is a fine explanation, but it isn't necessary to the Bayverse films, you don't need a character to say "Oh, Prime's just a little upset because the war's been going on for thousands of years, the Decepticons have killed several of our allies and friends, and our home is basically lost to us forever" because all of that is OBVIOUS, Bayverse Prime has been a war general for ages, of course he's going to be less merciful (not that Prime was ever THAT merciful to begin with, he's always been capable of eliminating immediate threats, and it's not like the Bayverse ever had a Decepticon beg for mercy or even stand down, they're bloodthirsty and dangerous, so Prime puts them down). But the biggest issue with RotB Prime is that he's basically a pushover, say what you want about Bayverse Prime, he was always a complete badass whenever he was on screen, he was always at least interesting to watch, RotB Prime spends a lot of time pouting, which would make sense if this wasn't OPTIMUS PRIME, the guy is basically the embodiment of optimism and hope, and yet RotB tried to give him a meaningless character arc that made him so miserable, Bayverse Prime had moments where he absolutely felt down, like when Sentinel betrayed them or when he found out about Ratchet's death, but the difference is that Bayverse Prime DID SOMETHING about it, that's the problem with RotB Prime, he's so boring, his best moments are, ironically, the ones where he acts like Bayverse Prime:
"I'm going to take back Scourge's Key, and then, take off his head!"
"Allow me to show you the true power of a Prime!"
*rips off Scourge's head after burning him in magma*
"Don't Prime, I can give you everything you want."
"Then DIE!"
Those are by far the most memorable parts of that film and they are very reminiscent of Bayverse Prime.

The writers really didn't respect that aspect about prime. He goes from being violent in necessary times to being violent in times where it's unnecessary to the point it's out of character. Even Peter Cullen didn't like this portrayal of prime for a reason.
@@himeshsinghshishodiya And it's that type of "character development" (really isn't cause him being war broken was brought out of nowhere in the films with no pre-preplanned timing) is why this prime is controversial and knightverse prime is considered just a more fleshed out pre-planned war torn optimus. Many prime incarnations understand violence is necessary in war but that doesn't mean you commit war crimes just cause the other side is doing it. Take tf prime optimus for example who took notes from bayverse prime but did things better.
He wanted megatron dead the moment Raf almost died to megatron. He was on the nemesis, saw a bunch of vehicons and what did he do? He said this *I have come for megatron and him alone, stand down and be spared* He gave them a chance to stand down cause he wasn't there to kill them. He waited to see if they would attack or not. Once they did, he attacked back but only in self defense. This isn't the only time he gives cons a chance to change sides or surrende but the 1 character he consistently wanted dead was megatron as he tried to end him in s2 and s3.
He waits til the enemy strikes first. THAT'S what you do in war if you want to fight for peace. Striking first when the enemy didn't do anything yet to you is what you do when you want to commit as many crimes as possible.

The Bayverse Prime was AWESOME.
Love the part where Megatron says "Who would you be without me?" Like he's trying to bait Optimus into having a philosophical dialogue to buy time, but Optimus doesn't take it at all
Fun fact:Optimus everytime he fights he enables his battle mask to stop his mouth from hurting his enemies emotions
Note: Welp,I didn’t think that comment would be this popular XD
Lol?
@@emti29 in short he swears while battling
Actually that's not true because in the first movie when he had the "Humans don't deserve to live" argument with Megatron you can clearly see him speak with his battle mask on when he said "They deserve to choose for themselves"

Megatron and Fallen heard alot of shit when fighting Optimus. Guess his mask isn't perfect.

If the moment calls for calm.
He's equipped with the Blades of Calm and the Axe of Reason
That three minutes was the whole reason I watched these movies over and over🤣
I love how the movie seems so much better in memory. Now that im looking back they all just stood there and took it wtf😂

I like how with every film Optimus got progressively more aggressive with his enemies. It gives off this vibe that over time, every time the decepticons came back and humans betrayed him, he had less and less patience for them and slowly lost his way as an honorable fighter.
It's probably not what was intended but I'd like to think it was.
same thought here! and people were surprised by his brutality, like c'mon, both the cons and the humans really asked for it in the first place.
I mean he’s still honorable fighter he just fucks you up badly lol. Unlike megatron he a bitch and had to 3v1 to take him down. Although megatron can probably do a good 1v1 against optimus still.
@@Ryuujiish true you got betrayed by your brother, your mentor, and your friends it takes a toll.

Finally! People that understand the reason for his brutality. I 100% think his brutality towards the Decepticons is justified when you see what he’s been through

The disrespect in cutting starscreams arm off and smacking him with it 💀
Didn't even cut it off, Prime just karate chopped it.
Or prime is strong af, or starscream is weak af
If you like good guys hitting baddies with their own arms, then you should watch Deadly Prey (1987).
Lmfaaooo
Basic rule of thumb, take an arm, and you either smack them with it or you kill someone else with it.
As a wise man once said “If violence doesn’t solve all your problems, then you’re not using enough violence”
"Ill take you all on"
Unfortunately for the decepticons, this did not mean on the bed.
Starscream: “MY ARM!”
Optimus: “Oh, my bad bro you can have it back.”
Twice
I mean, he is the leader for a reason. In times of war you don't become a leader because you're nice and inspiring. You become leader because you're ruthless and a good warrior.

-Optimus Prime
Optimus out here drop shotting baby decepticons with his energon blades
When Optimus Prime pulls off stuff like this it really shows how much of a beast he is
1:44 has got to be one of the coolest sequences in the series! The choreography along with the music is just so fukin good!
Fun fact: In the prequel novel Ghosts of Yesterday: Before the events of the first movie the Decepticons: Blackout, Barricade, Bonecrusher, and Starscream all have a conversation and point out and acknowledge that Optimus is not weak and is a formidable opponent and some of them mention that fighting him one on one would mean certain death. They all respect and fear him because they have seen his skill as a warrior and know he is the biggest threat the Decepticons faced.
But they still want the honor of killing him to win favor amongst the other Decepticons and with Megatron which would earn them a higher status within their ranks. Which is why Bonecrusher was so eager to fight Prime in the first movie but it is also what lead to his inevitable death.
Funny I remember a comic where Barricade told Bonecrusher to deal with Prime cause he still had a score to settle with Bee. And Bonecrusher simply said "sure whatever."
@@MAYITO1107 comic is different from the novel I suppose. I think this book is decanonized and retconned now since Optimus and The Autobots arrive in the Ark in the book but in the third movie the Ark was being used by Sentinel Prime. Optimus Prime understands the Paradox of Tolerance. You cannot tolerate those who are intolerant. No games. You deal with them. Swiftly, relentlessly, mercilessly.
What he did to the fallen literary shocked me. I was NOT expecting full on Mortal Kombat fatalities from Optimus.

The worst part is that, you can't even blame him for turning into a psychopath. Decepticons: peace was never an option.
Optimus: bet.
Everyone gets so caught up in the huggable side of Optimus Prime that they also forget - he's a head of state and military CIC that's fought a war lasting a thousand millennia. He's had to get used to making hard decisions, and knows his enemy well enough to understand there can be peaceful understanding with them.
He is the proverbial patient man of whose fury to beware.
He's the Prime; literally the leader of their entire civilization and tasked as not only with that but considered the physical embodiment of their deity, Primus (the Matrix is a piece of Primus's spark). He has been forced to become a warlord, which was never what he was supposed to be, in a civil war that should not have happened. I think it probably kills him a little every time he kills a Decepticon, because he never forgets that they are all supposed to be one people, one society, and a Prime is not supposed to kill.
@@annehaight9963 prime is supposed to rip and tear

Whenever the main character has do the the dirty work and do whats necessary, hes not holding back after what happened on the 2nd movie when he was holding back, he only started fighting for real when he realized he was going to die there and so will sam if he fails.
And after he got resurrected he showed no mercy in hes battles moving forward. Sure he can get a bit too brutal and i guess a bit too personal, could be adrenaline or something, don't know if thats a thing for robots XD
