Great video... followed your directions step by step and now I have a Tacoma for sale without a dashboard!!
You're welcome! Thank you for watching!
Did you replace the McHeffer?
I laughed my ass off at this comment, soon as i started watching, i said there's no way in hell im doing this to my truck!
phillybigdoh 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I was laughing really hard as well! ha I knew right away from this video it was a job I would pay to have done instead of trying myself.
Now by watching this i have the confidence to throw money at a professional to do it. Thanks for the video!
my suggestion to anyone willing to do this on their own. Purchase the dash cluster from a junked Tacoma. Keep your stock cluster as a spare in case the mod does not work to your liking.
Good input. Thanks for watching!
@@way22good1 I Have Subscribed To Your Channel And I Am So Easily Impressed!
“Havnt seen a video online so i figured I’d make one” THAT is the type of shit I like to hear! Great Video thank you!!
I can't thank you enough for this video! I did my Tacoma today and it came out beautiful! Wish I could show you, just because your video made it possible.
Campingeighty4 any tips or tricks? I’m gonna do mine. Also how many bulbs do you need to order?
@@undeadman813 If you haven't done it yet, you get a price cut if you order 50. You need roughly 45 so it's safe to get a few extra...and you pay less for more.
Where did you order them from and what size smd are used? 3528?
@@MrRozee12 I ordered all mine from lighthouseleds.com and I got around 50 like the guy above says. It's good to have extra.
Yes, that size is right. 3528.
@@undeadman813 Sorry man, never got this message. I followed this video step by step and had no issues. Careful on the odometer glass. And take tons of pictures of your needles! That I had to do 3 times to be very accurate.
Excellent video, the soldering was challenging at first, but then got easier.
Just found this. Thanks for putting this together, this is perfect. Definitely saving this for future plans of redoing my interior.
I know this video is a year old I have a 2007 Toyota Tacoma single cab looking to change the LED dashboard lights I noticed one other person asked how many lights and what voltage do we need to order appreciate a reply enjoyed the video appreciate putting the effort into show us
Nice work man. I was looking for exactly what you were doing - even the same year Tacoma. After watching the video I think I'll begin to like red instrument lights more! Maybe I can find a pair of tinted glasses that will make the dash look blue. LOL
I'm still trying to figure out how you learned to do this... If you just started taking things apart and figured it out, then congratulations, you're a genius!
i have never soldered before in my life, this was intimidating at first just because of all of the things on the electronic board but it is very simple. i did it with a battery operated soldering iron which i don't recommend because of consistency. just take your time and remember to take a pic of your needles before you remove them.
Nice job. You made me believe I could do this mod. lol Looks clean
My 06 tundra has the led lights too. Your video helped me out. The 06 tundras led looks like the same size. Thank you.
You're welcome! Thanks for watching!
@@way22good1 My 2006 Tundra has the same lights and this video was the only one that matched. Thanks!!
Liked and subscribed. I was thinking of doing it another way but no way this one is straight to the point
Thanks for sharing your process. Great walk through.
Dude, your awesome! Great mod!
Video is a big help to show me how to remove dash.
Thanks
Thanks! Glad it helped you!
That's at least a 10 hp gain!
I just did this to mine! It's awesome. Thanks for the tutorial.
whered you buy the bulbs?
@@cpetersonmusic Amazon, PLCC-2 SMD Blue - Ultra Bright 1210/3528 LED (Pack of 10)
Looks sharp! Never understood why they chose orange.
Awesome!! Used this video to remove the annoying TPM light that's stayed on. Thanx!!
You're welcome! Glad it helped!
@@way22good1 please do mine for a price. I really need this done.
Thank you uploading this, really helpful maybe i will try this now!!!!
+Noah M it's well worth it!
Thanks!!! I really needed this video!!!
Great video Man! Ordered my LEDs, took my time on the replacements from red/orange to red/white/blue and now I got an awesome looking instrument panel!!!
Thank you! Hope it all works out for you!
Dwayne montgomery where did you order your led's from?
Where did you arder it ?
Thank you for making this now I can finally get rid of my dam tpm light! I'm just going to remove the damn led!
Hey grt vid brother. Lots of haters on here. Good on you for being detailed enough so that people can know whether or not they want to tackle this.
Super slick man! I like it!
Hey man! Could you tell me how many of each light you needed? This is the exact color scheme I wanted to do. Something about that blue and white that just looks so clean!
This is awesome! I wish I had steady hands so I could do this to my ES330. Unfortunately I shake to much. Id pay to get this done somewhere.
Awesome video man, it looks great. Can you tell me which White LED you choose, they have cool white and neutral white. Thanks!
Man you make it look easy. Hell I rather just bring it to you.
Hey, this is FANTASTIC! Thanks so much for making this! I've been looking for this information and know a lot of folks on TacomaWorld have this mod done. I feel confident enough now to do it myself! If I wanted to do the blue / white, can you tell me how many of each I need to order? Thanks!!
Man hit the spacer bar when you talk all your words sound like they are all together, hard to understand, just slow down when you talk please
Yo! Nice vid! Well done sir! 👏👏👏
The cluster was very good, what type of smd led is used by the cluster?
great video ..thank you for doing this
Thank you...and you're welcome!
Super clean! Quick question bro. What’s the blue switch with silver around it above the coin tray on the left ? Also if u know where to get it.
Very good!! Where do we get the Blue or White LEDs for this conversion?
Great video and it worked perfectly. Your description made it very easy to do this modification. It worked perfectly for 6 months and now the two LED lights behind the Tac are not working. I replaced both LEDs with new lights but no luck...any suggestions?
Thanks
Chris Petty this comment made me not want to do it now lol
Awesome mod!! Thanks for sharing
did you have to add a resistor or anything? Im reading about the lights and it says max voltage is 3.5volts.
Ive got a 2004 Toyota 4runner SR5 2WD, the gauge looks almost identical, you think the leds would work in mine?
Great video. I'm going to do the same to my 2005 and need to know how many of each did you use? I'm about to order some.
D u have a video replacing the lights in the radio
great video man!
Thanks!
What did he do with the orange
ac/heater knob panel?
Can you help me. I did all the outside back lite lights .. replaced and periodically checked and they all worked. I then went and did all the needles. I didn’t check .. replaced them all and now none work. Any thoughts. I am certain that I put the notch in the right spot. Do you know if they all run in series that if one’s out they are all out? Thank you
What did you use foe your brackets for your fog lights?
Excellent job well done
I wonder if I can remove one LED that serves as a light for the SRS airbag in the same way
Thanks for sharing. what type of LED did you use. the supplied link is removed already. thanks
Any chance you could list out the number of LED for each section so we can order the right number of each color..incl the dummy lights? That would be icing on the cake. Great vid.
My 2002 Highlander has soldered in lights. I will try. I did remove the cluster, I noticed the fuel needle stays on Full. It might be stuck as it doesnt move, I think it cam loose when I was working on the cluster. How do you reset the needle so its correct. Is it just not seated correctly to the stem ?
Great video .. thanks man
Awesome MOD. I will be doing the same soon. do you have any info on changing the clock from amber to blue?thanks
i do it exactly like you on my 2011 really easy to do
so you did blue on everything but the needles? those you used white LED's?
great job, well explain video
Just finished mine looks siccckkkk! Went white on everything but the speedometer needle and light behind it.
Glad we were able to help!
Hey, so I tried the same size LEDs as you and they didn't work. When I checked the voltage on the circuit board contacts, it was only 1.8 volts which is not enough to turn the LED on. I verified that with sufficient voltage, the same LED worked just fine. Any suggestions?
Damn that came out nice!
Thank you!
Excellent video
Thank you!
Did you get the 4 pronged leds or the 2 prong? Is this an 07?
I would definitely NOT be messing with that
$#!T...Kudos bro!
Thanks!
Good video, really want to do this to my truck now, but where did you get the leds from !
How do u change your door switches out?
Looks great!
Thanks!
Very nice! Always wish this was an option instead of that ugly amber color. I have the dark blue 05' 4runner. That would look much better if it came like that.
Hey man. I have the same truck. I'm not sure where to buy the lights or what kind I need. Where did you get the lights and about how long did this take?
Man you make it look so easy lol
Haha thanks!
Please do mine for me. I'll pay you, and I really need this done for my 2008 Tacoma.
Can anyone confirm if this would work for a 4th gen (2003-2009) 4Runner?
Are these LEDs dimmable or do they flicker when you dim the dash
Way22, do you do this as a side gig? Can I send you one to swap out the lights?
Ground strap not needed when touching circuit board?
Hi do you have a next link for where to buy the led lights? The one in your video description doesn’t work. Or can you just tell me the name of the led bulb please
Where did you get the LED's? What size/ type
Just follow this guide perfectly and now my gauges don't work. The lights look great but I don't have a speedometer, tachometer, oil temp, or gas gauge. Ideas?
Great video and instruction! This has turned out to be a fun project. I'm stuck though and was hoping you could give me some pointers? The first 3 LEDs I soldered onto the circuit board were blue for the odometer and they lit up beautifully on the first try. The next 4 don' t light up at all (3 for the speedometer and 1 for the right turn signal). I've made sure the little corner pieces of the LEDs line up with the tiny white dots on the circuit board and it seems like a good solder, but nope, no lights. Any ideas?
Luke McCabe cold soldering
@@Fosgen thanks!
Is the dash the same as a toyota hilux 2005 plus
What type of LED bulb for the Tacoma For the same result?
Does anyone know the P/N, or at least the name of the part, that the LEDs are being soldered onto? I can't find any junkyard in a reasonable driving distance that has a Tacoma in my year range (2002). I'd like to buy this part and solder the new LEDs to my old one, having the new one as a backup. I can't seem to find it on Toyota OEM parts websites.
Do you offer this as a service? I heard you say this customer, if this is something you do, id like to hire you to do mine.
Andrew Ward same
Just finished changing all the lights and everything turned it great except my gauges! They won't react to anything. I've read multiple threads on it and nothing is working. You say I'm the video that when you plug it back it they will reset but when I plug mine in they simply don't do anything. Please help!
Can you point me in the direction of the kit I need to do this
Hey where did you buy the lights. What is the name I would look under?
Hey man I have a 2007 Toyota Tacoma. Where can I purchase the same lights for my truck
Hi thanks for your good works
From where can I get this new led
Online
Just to make sure, what is the LED name/part # for 2009 Toyota Tacoma?
Love the video.where can I purchase the LEDs ?
Thanks for uploading this awesome video been wanting to do this forever. I didn't have the confidence to do until now. Where do you order those led at? Thanks.
+TSlimboi Thank you very much! I'm glad to hear it helps.
killer mod! so how many blue LEDs? and how many white LEDs?
WOW ,I got to try this
How many lights are required?
Where you get them from grill lights?
did you use classic white led or the cool white? Great Vid
what about the stereo face and channel buttons, isn't it all still orange??? thats gotta look great...
Did you replace the needle lights with white LEDs or leave the stalk originals? And I'm guessing I could leave the orange hazards if I wanted?
*Stock
Great video but how do you do the light is the stereo and climate controls?
The clock has a film on it that can rub off, the climate controls are a T4 wedge light. The climate housing pops right out and the lights are right there.
how many lights total did you change?
What's the brand of your front bumper?
Where can I buy the led’s and does it have different colors
That's a great mod! I want to do this with my taco, but I'm too scared I'd mess it up myself. Do you have suggestions of places that might do this? I'm from so cal if it helps.
just buy a second cluster from a junk yard, and keep the original cluster as a spare.
I'm assuming it'll have the same kind of leds for a Toyota celica 1994 right? Plus how would I know which way positive and negative go on the celica, will it still have the white dot next to the trimmed side of the led, sorry for the noob question haha
No, before 2002 there was a simpler system with bulbs you could actually pull out and replace, plug and play (as long as you know how to pull your instrument cluster). For pre-2002 Toyotas it's much easier, look for videos specific to pre-2002. No soldering required.
Aside from the above reply if you can't use a basic volt meter you shouldn't try this type of mod.
