Man, this is why I like natural sourced, alive, pearl farms. The only oysters that die are the ones that are ready to. They're treated very gently and carful when extracting the pearl, and then they're put back in safe nets in the ocean so that they aren't attacked or eaten. It's sustainable and so much better than just killing the oyster. Plus you get a hell of a lot more pearls

I can get the arguments, but the people in the comments talking about how they could’ve not killed the oyster, you don’t know what they did with it afterwards, do you? They could’ve planned to eat it or something, and even then, oysters aren’t rare or uncommon, as far as I know, so killing this one in the video doesn’t make much of a difference.
Edit: I have just been informed that it is not edible. Thank you for telling me. I guess there’s not really a reason to kill it, then. Still, though, there is a very large population of oysters, so killing this one doesn’t make much of a difference.

The pearks could have been removed without killing the oyster. Did you know? Could have been re-seeded and left to live to make more pearls. Such sensless waist for vanity?

Whatever, oysters are a common thing and you can ship one from china for a few bucks anyways.
