Not really. Sandman is still canon to both DC and it's own Vertigo line. Daniel's running around in Dark Nights Metal with Cain and Abel, and all three of them are in the upcoming Sandman Universe. Some of Vertigo is different while some is not. Sandman is still canon to DC proper.

Can someone tell me what's so great about the Sandman comics? Is it even a super hero comic? Because based on summaries I have read there is NO ACTION, NO FIGHTS. Based on what I have read it was just a cosmic soap opera about a cosmic entity's journey of self discovery. But I could be remembering wrong. Action isn't everything but isn't it an essential part of a Superhero comic series. Not that all superhero comics in a series have to have action. But shouldn't the majority of them have it?

Bendis thinks he fighting for his ideas of "new American way" but he'll only going alienate half of audience, and increase the divide.
you never know, I don't think it will be over the top or become unnecessarily political, or politically correct, there are a ton of great comics that have huge political messages but that are written because the writer has a great idea not a political agenda(ex X-Men). There are some Marvel books that worked that had political messages but thats because the idea was original and great and not some political agenda(Ex Vision, Miss Marvel, Thor(Not even political)) and there were some that were bad that only had political agenda's(ex Captain Marvel, Captain America,)

I'm always really nervous when the British Invasion Vertigo classics get handled by someone who wasn't involved in the original run - this sort of thing often ends in disappointment, but I'm trying to remain cautiously optimistic about this new Sandman Universe and I`m glad Gaiman handpicked the writers. I do wish Gaiman was directly involved with more of it though, or someone like Mike Carey

He was talking about redefining Truth, Justice and the American Way. He wants to use Superman to be his political soapbox, he mentions in the video that "truth is under siege" what does he mean by that? Well it sounds like he's going on about Democrat talking point of fake news. He also touched on some pro-immigration nonsense when he mentioned the American Way. Basically he's still mad that Trump won in 2016 and he's going to let us all hear about it in his Superman run.
Sorry, but Comics (and to a greater extent literature) have always been about politics and criticizing what the writer feels is wrong in the world, as for the "Immigration and the American Way" thing, Superman is an Illegal Immigrant, in fact writers have been using that metaphor since the conception of Superman. Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegel actually took inspiration from the Moses story when creating Superman, Moses escaped Genocide and was very much an Illegal Immigrant in hiding in Egypt.
So are you saying you support illegal immigration? Do you acknowledge the problems that come with millions of illegals pouring into a country? America brings in 1.5 million legal immigrants every year apparently to people like Bendis this isn't enough. America has over 300 million people fast approaching 400. How much is too much? I believe that you're coming from a good place, but it's not Americas responsibility to take in the entire third world. It's only going to hurt the people already here.

I dont understand Bendis point. Truth, justice and the american way are not all the attributes that make the character those are just some of the iconic ones. Superman's reasons for helping ppl is because he just simply wants to, he has the ability to help those in need so he feels like he should.
-I dont understand why the lack of truth in media needs to be addressed character by superman when hes Clark Kent he can do that not when hes fighting crime, his main goal is to right those who have been wrong he dosnt just punch his enemies sometimes he'll step in to help them if he sees their in this loop of poverty and crime.
