- The build is complete. Body work primed and ready for final painting. Everything seems to fit well. I'll drive a few more times before pulling it apart for the final paint detailing.

Subaru's sound like that with the boxer rumble because the exhaust is unequal length. Throw a system on the car that is equal length and they sound like a civic. Lol

i under coated my mower, got mine bed to bare metal, painted top and bottom with Rust-Oleum Truckbed Liner ! its smooth with texture with a glossy black look > Thats more of a go cart than lawn mower

I recognize that motor I think, it's the 4 valve GS750 eze or ef. (1984 or 1985) Suzuki. I think it is anyway. That'd be one scary ride lol
.... ok, I stand corrected. I looked to a previous video. It's a 400. They didnt have a small displacement in a 4 cylinder back in the day in Canada
. It was a twin and the appearance is dead on to the 750 and 1100 of the early 80's.

It wont take the rpms for long.

How come you didn't wet sand the spots off before installing everything? Aren't they there so you know when you've sanded out the imperfections in the primer? At least that's what i've seen it used for.
Hi David, i did the wet sanding with the panel off the mower. I fitted it all first as I needed to be sure everything fit properly before doing the final sand. You cant sand and paint as well if its in position.

Hi Rax, I think Carsand cameras has some great mowers, karts etc. My build is more for drifitng, mowing etc. Also, I'm in Australia so not going to be easy to see how this girl goes against carsandcameras, although I'd like to meet them some day and perhaps build something crazy together....

Hi Jason, good question. Haven't really tracked costs but prob around $5K in parts and all labour and work I've done myself. Paying to have someone do something like this would be huge

Why not paint it instead of leaving it in primer
I'll be painting it soon, just waiting for the weather to warm a bit more. Just primed and put back together to be sure everything fitted properly. I'm going to paint the deck this weekend and then the body in another week or so.

Hi Mate, if you have a budget, then build to your budget. If like me you just want to freestyle, then do that and see where it takes you. I had a high level vision but really worked out the detail as I went along. That's my style but for others more planning is better

Hi Rotaxd, there might be. To reduce the risk I've already added a high flow fan up front as well as a cylinder head temp gauge so I can see whats going on when driving. Worst case I upgrade to a bigger water cooled engine....
How does the engine get enough air for cooling?

Hi Mumbles, it absolutely mows lawn. It was one of the things I wanted from the start. A Race mower isn't a mower unless it cuts lawn. The thing is, how quickly can it cut, still to be tested...
