Why does Harry have it? That was a big misstep on their part. However, I actually like how they worked around the Horcrux problem. If Harry can feel Voldemort, why can't he feel for the Horcrux's, too? It made sense to me.

    Voldemort's parents weren't the typical muggle/wizard couple. His mother was a witch and she slipped his father (who he's named after) a love potion. She also conceived Tom while his father was under the potion still. She eventually stopped giving it to him to see if their love would last but it didn't and he left her. Soon after she went to an orphanage to give birth to the baby and name him Tom Marvolo Riddle after his father and her father and then she died after giving birth. A child born through a love potion can never experience (give or receive) real love, which is a big part of Voldemort's character.

      I think what's interesting is the way they portray that in the movies, Harry does say that "you'll never know love or friendship and I feel sorry for you.."
      but I think a way it's better shown and not told is through the way they depicted Bellatrix as insanely in love with him, you can tell by the way she interacts with him her motivations are more then loyalty to the cause, and he literally just does not give a s*** about her 💀💀😂

    • @ciennadebose
      @ciennadebose Před 4 lety +20

      @@DreamsOfSappho No It's not a fan theory. In an interview she said that he can't feel love because he was born out of a loveless union. But she also said that if Merope (his mother) hadn't died and raised him herself, things could've been different for him. She said that being born out of a loveless union is only part of why he cant love and there are other factors like not getting shown real love in his life so if he had his mom there to love him, he probably would've been able to love to some capacity, he just never got to know that was like.

    You asked a lot of questions, but you need to understand about the wands. Anyone can use any wand, but the wand will only work best if used by the person "the wand chooses". However, if a person is disarmed by another person the wands allegiance changes to the person who disarms the original owner. This is really important for the next movie. House elves are very powerful in their own right, which is probably why they were enslaved. Side note, Hogwart's has hundreds of house elves who do the cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc, which requires that they do quite a bit of magic - Dobby goes to work there after he becomes free and Dumbledore pays him a salary.

('Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare', aka the 'House-Elf Liberation Front') because she can't believe enslavement still exists but it's funny because most elves are ok with it, they don't want to be free like Dobby did, they are even offended by the idea. In the books there are other invisibility cloaks, but as Dumbledore states they are don't make the user TRULY invisible, and magic can be used to see through them. They are basically camouflage cloaks.
    The one Harry has is the only cloak that makes the wearer TRULY invisible, and it takes a powerful wizard to be able to see through its magic. It is hinted that Dumbledore can see through it, but never stated exactly that I remember.

    if you're looking for tv shows Avatar the last Airbender is great

  • @pearlofthedarkage
    @pearlofthedarkage Před 4 lety +42

    I'm also going to recommend Avatar: the Last Airbender (the series, not the movie) because it's a good gateway series into anime. It's not anime, exactly, but it is styled very much like anime. If you're going to get into anime after that (or before, whatever), I'd recommend starting with a short series first (like 12-ish episodes long) - just to get a taste. Off the top of my head (and I'm sorry, I'm not really thinking straight right now) would be My Roommate is a Cat, Cells at Work, or Natsuyuki Rendezvous.
    Don't jump into a long-haul anime like Bleach, Naruto, or whatever right from the get-go. (Mind you, Naruto is good; it's just really long for a novice.) Long running series tend to be hit-and-miss, filled with filler episodes, and are too much of an investment for those who are totally new to anime. Also, if you can read subtitles at all, I also recommend watching subtitled anime in its original language (Japanese, most likely) over English dubbed anime every time. There are _a few_ good dubs out there, but I'd still choose sub over dub like 99.9% of the time.
    If you want something a little bit longer than 12-ish episodes, I'd recommend Cowboy Bebop (which does have a really good dub, btw). Another good way to get into anime would be a movie instead of a series. Pretty much anything by Hayao Miyazaki and/or Studio Ghibli is going to be a winner. Another really good anime movie to start with is Barefoot Gen. It's autobiographical - written by a dude who survived the atomic bomb. So, the movie follows his story. It used to be shown in Japan as a standard part of elementary history education. Don't know if it still is...
    Anime is very much like TV itself: there are *ALL* of the different genres, with everything ranging from stuff for toddlers to stuff that's adults-only. For instance, Cowboy Bebop is a Western Sci-Fi while Trigun is a Sci-Fi Western. LOL Azumanga Daioh is an incredibly addictive and chill anime that's very warm and fuzzy. Berserk is on the opposite end of the spectrum with blood, gore, violence, and magic. My personal favorite anime of all time is Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, which has fantasy elements perfectly hybridized with sci-fi, along with intrigue, action, and comedy. Unlike another comment suggested - watch the sub, not the dub! It's a lot longer than my recommended dozen-episode appetizer, but it's not so long that it can wear you out.
    PS: Great reaction video, btw! Sorry for the long-ass essay. I've seen several hundred anime by now ranging from different target audiences and genres, so I could easily talk your ear off about it! I love the work you're doing; your channel is off to a great start! I've really been enjoying watching your reactions to the Harry Potter movies and am a little sad it's almost over.

    The wand thing is not inconsistent at all. Basically anyone can use any wand with certain degrees of efficiency, but they will have the best results when using the type of wand that choses them. Another wand with the same admixture will almost work as well as their own. As for the Elder Wand, Dumbledore defeated Grindelwald and got possession of the Elder Wand. The story of Dumbledore and Grindelwald is one of those things mentioned very early on in book one, and referred to here and there in all the books. It's basically part of Harry Potter lore and mentioned as the 'greatest duel in wizarding history'.

    "Seems kinda confusing." Yeah, there's a _lot_ from the books that was either left out or changed so it makes less sense. For full details, check out the CZcams series _Lost in Adaptation_ by Dominic Noble (formerly The Dom).

    If you enjoyed the Harry Potter Series a ton, I suggest doing Fantastic Beasts series. Its set in the Harry Potter Universe, predate Voldemort and Harry Potter

    Great reaction. I don't remember if it was mentioned in the movies but regarding the grave of Ignotus Peverell, he's actually one of the Three Brothers from the story. The youngest one which if you recall, received the Cloak of Invisibility and passed it down to his son. So from that, we can infer that Harry and by extension the Potter family are descendants of the Peverell family.
    Also I would recommend watching Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Also part of the Wizarding World universe, it takes place in 1920's America and follows Newt Scamander, a famous Magizoologist that is the author of a textbook ("Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them") that is used later in time by Hogwarts students throughout their years at school.

    Can't wait for the last one! :D About the invisibility cloak: there are several of them, but they are rare, just like Ron said. There is only one, though, that makes you go fully invisible... One of the three Deathly Hallows.

    Really impressed with your ability to follow and understand whats going on without having read the books.
    Because there are a lot of things that are left out in the movies, or that has a more vague explanation.
    About the wand choosing the wizard. - It's very peculiar, even in the books.
    Even the most skilled wizards and/or wand makers cannot fully comprehend the complexity of wand-lore.
    Evidently, wizards can use any wand, but they are more potent when the wand has chosen you as their master.
    Every wand is composed by different materials/sources. Each material has a symbolic meaning of specific qualities or traits the wizard/witch posses, which is how it chooses it's master.
    Anyway, i hope this gives you a bit of insight into wand-lore since it is a bit mysterious.
    Well done, nice reaction.

    To answer a couple of questions: It was impractical to attack them at the wedding but that was before they took over the ministry. Also, they would expect a Hogwarts student to know Bathilda Bagshot as she wrote the history books they use in the History of Magic classes.
