This one cheap budget simple kitchen tool really has become a firm favourite for me. Truly! It makes light work of removing single weeds that are either hard to kill, or you don't want to use weedkiller.
Plus it aerates the soil at the same time.. and a compacted lawn can sometimes be an indication of weeds. - Jak na to + styl

Brilliant idea, my lawn is full of mature dandelions. I've ordered one on Amazon UK, so I won't have to Roundup which tends to burn the grass. Thanks for the tip
Hey big spender a black one £1 extra, is it since you became such a skilled film maker?
It’s the “Weed Wizard” for lawns. Doubles up as a handy tool for removing the core of an apple. Next week LawnRight will demonstrate how to scarify small patches using an onion slicer.
🤣🤣🤣👏👏👏👏👏👏Brilliant!
I’m not kidding what an idea genius 😂😂😂
🤣🤣 Thanks😊
Brilliant🤣
You always crack me up and make me chuckle🤣🤣
Great idea though, will order one when i get back from Cyprus🏖🏖🍺🍺🍹🌅
Kev
Ha ha.. No worries hope your having a great time!
Always learning, top idea 💡😜
This is brilliant. Ordered one straight away. Hopefully will work on poa.
Theoretically it should do 😊
We had one similar for picking weeds that was on a pole so you could do it without bending down
Love it!
How you doing? 😂😂😂😂 just love your humour and your practical advice.
😂😂😂
Speedwells look great in lawns.
Thanks Shaun, I just brought one via your link
love it , i can take core samples now to upsell certain treatments , but only in the damp conditions , dont tell pitchare , top idea ,
😁😁😁👍👍 Yes! Whip out the old apple corner from your holster
I was musing about your apple corer while doing my edges today with my latest gadget. I have raided the decorating tools for the long bladed wallpaper scissors (shears) to do my lawn edges. Lovely and sharp and long. Added that to my carving knife for cutting lawn edges against paving and the vegetable knife for clearing tight crevices between slabs.
Yes, brilliant!!
Couple years ago, when I was doing the Sunday lawn plan, this was what they sent along with their soil test kit. Even though I'm doing my own thing now, I still use it to pull cores for my tests. Pulls a nice size core.
Ahh brilliant! And handy for meal times in the van on the apples 😁😁😁
Love it, will be ordering one.
Hope you enjoy it!
Shaun another fantastic video and a great tip, ordering one now 👍👍👍
Thanks Kenny, you'll enjoy this one. I really like it!
Ordered and delivered tomorrow, it will be going straight into service 😂😂😂 top tip this Shaun 👏👏👏
OMG. love the idea. Can’t wait to try it. 🤙😃
Do it do it do it! 🤣🤣
I've always used a flat blade screwdriver for this kind of single weed puller - I just insert it straight down next to the weed and then pop it up. That said, I'm going to add an apple corer to my tools.
Can't have too many tools
What a brilliant idea! 👍
😊😊👍
Amazing! First 15 seconds look like beeing in a Teleshopping channel 😊
Ha ha lol 🤣
@@LawnRight I do appreciate your work!
@@loneranger5181 very kind of you 🙏🙏
Nice one Dave just ordered 2 👍🏻
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
So neat!
Yes! I'm loving it! 😊
Great tip Shaun
Thanks 👍 😊😊
Quite reassuring to see other lawns hit rubble after an inch. I have taken a week off work to get things done
1. Completely killed the lawn 3 weeks ago
2. Cut and scarified by hand the full lawn yesterday with a terrifying amount of moss and thatch
3. Debating to either completely till the lawn where there is only an inch of soil, or just thrown a good few bags of soil and hope for the best
Worried that if I start tilling it will create a frightening amount of debris that will need cleared that I have not prepared for 😮💨
If you can add another 4 or 5 inches of soil it'll give it a much happier life being able to push roots down.. That said I've seen some lawns do OK with just an inch of soil.. But some not so.. Up to you but I bet you'd feel better knowing you'd tilled it
Great vid as ever mate....ordered a couple straight away. Hoping will be good for removing weedgrass because the fiskars weed puller I use leaves a bloody crater!!
I'm hopeful on the smaller weed grasses as soon as you see them
Core blimey, now I've seen everything. That's initiative for you.
Shaun your as mad as a box of frogs but your great. lol 👍
I worry about myself sometimes 🤣🤣😊😊
@@LawnRight be comforted by the fact you are not alone 😂😂😂
great video will be on amazon any minute.
Thanks 😊
That's a great idea
It really is fab!
Wow! what a great idea! Thanks for sharing. Oh and by the way, I didnt realize you had such a good looking twin :)
He he.. We look so alike 🤣
@@LawnRight Sean, i recently did a lawn reno with compost over the seed, th majority has come through lovely but i have some bare patches. Can i seed over the compost and cover seed again or do i need to rake out the compost in the bare patches then put seed back down, then cover again?
Nice tip 👍🏻
Thank you! Cheers!
great idea
Thank you! Cheers!
Much easier than my glyphosate in a syringe method! Plus aerates the grass too!
That's good stuff
😊😊😊
😆😝😁 you're funny! Love it!
I try 🤣🤣🤣
Nice
Morning Shaun, best Saturday wishes.
I have been trying to decide on which premium hallow tine aerator to get off garden imports, between:
Swordman, Artemis, Landzie
Which do you recommend?
Hi, i just bought the Wallansee 2 prong one, works brilliantly, 28 quid on Amazon, solidly made, and the plugs come up most of the time, did 20 pushes and poked out a chore once!
Hi honestly both are great. I'm looking to raffle some of mine off soon too
@@KB996 Recently had this model off amazon, while I believe it would work great for a budget option, unfortunately because I have heavy clay soil, due to the design of the tines, it constantly clogged, so had to return it. Top tip, clean out your tines after use and spray with WD-40 to keep them nice and smooth
Yeah, mines clay as well, i think ithe soil needs to be just rihht, not too wet or too dry.
Back lawns worse than the front and i tested it on the back lawn, worked well on the test patch.
I would imagine it will work better on front lawn as that has better soil.
Ordered via your link, apple corers never been so popular for that seller! Great shout. What would you do with the hole that is left, could you put some of the soil core back in without the root?
I know.. I need shared in Amazon! Yes you could def put the soil back absolutely 😊
Used an apple corer before for weeds but this is next-gen apple corer. Purchased a red one so easy to spot if left on the lawn. (The yellow one was 3x the price!?)
That's crazy.. I just went for the cheapest 🤣🤣
@@LawnRight red was also the cheapest 😉
We mark all our outside tools with orange duct tape. Too many tools lost in the lawn to be found by the mower.
I do the same with a bulb planter, they are bigger. they go deep enough to simply turn the removed mud upsides down to plug the hole. Reseed. Bosh
Great idea. But, if I did this on my lawn it'd look, like Edam cheese
He he he lol.. 🤣
Lol so right 😅😅😅 bless you
clever editing 🤣 your kid is a ringer for you 😊
🤣🤣🤣
Would I be able to use this technique in order to improve/ breakdown clay soil under my turf somehow?
It's driving me mad with all the rain we have had the past 12 months now!
Won't drain, and once the rain comes again, I need wellies just to walk on my lawn, and it's June for goodness sake!
You'd be better with a proper tool like a manual lanw aerator, or bulb planter otol on a drill a sthe osil iell be harder to push through
What can I say....genius...that the vegetable knife being made redundant 😂
Ha ha we need a new kitchen drawer for garden tools 🤣
I bet your better half is wondering where her kitchen gear is disappearing too🤣🤣
I used a dinner fork 🍴 and a kitchen knife 🔪for my weeds. I removed like 30 weeds in 13m² 😩 seriously hurt my knees. From no weeds to tons in a few weeks after renovation. I don't know where they came from. Maybe I won't water from the waterbutt again.
They just pop up after lots of rain.. It's normal 🙏🙏
ive got this mate who told me that he was talking to someone in the pub that said , he was able to buy Tenacity herbicide through Amazon ......
Would this work with poa?
If its very small it should do 🤞🤞🤞
Quick question 🙋♂️ - Q - when mixing selective herbicides and you add an extra Litre of water to weaken the guideline ratios will this have affect ? And would it be safe to reapply the correct mixing radio one week after ?
Hi weedkiller is one thing I won't apply weaker
@@LawnRight I’m guessing that’s a no comment kind of comment lol
Going to need a bigger van to carry the extra tools 🤷♂️😂 bet you could of done with the extra shaun's during renovation time.👍🍻
Now that would have been really handy.. Need a duplicator machine 🤣
Think it will work for POA?
We seed poa reptan here!
If u catch it while it's small then yes I think so.. Poa roots are usually quite shallow and weak
Thanks Shaun… great tip! Love the simple (Cheap) ones!
I suppose you could also use a 22mm piece of copper tube.. but just alter it so you have handle? There’ll be lots of ideas now you’ve started our brains going…. Thanks for making these… and your humour cracks me up. 😂😂😂
🤓B
🤣🤣 No worries and here to help!
Nice mate, this has to be one of the cheapest weed tools ever heh. Now someone just needs to develop a longer handle with a 3D printer, easier on the back and knees.
And a button to release the cores.. Would be amazing 😊😊. A bit like a litter picker tool
Just looked how many were sold in the last month (50+) if it's significantly higher next month you and your customer you should put in a claim for a share of the profits. 😊
That would be nice.. 😩😊🤣🤣
Take my money😊
Here sir, go make some holes 🤣🤣
This will be known as the baird weed remover from now on. Get someone to market it and like you say millionaire in a month. Or maybe not 🤣 nice tip though 👍
This time next year Rodney 🤣🤣🤣
Give your lawn the eye 😂😂😂😂😂
👀👀🤣🤣🤣
