Blazing Saddles- awesome. The train layout looks amazing and is running so smooth. Excellent progress. Looking forward to the next video. Thanks for sharing and stay safe. Ken
Glad to see your trains are running smoothly over the new curves. You have made great progress. I liked the shot of the kangaroo. You go outside and see kangaroos and i go out and see white tail deer. Two different worlds we live in. Thanks for sharing. Have a good day.
Great update David, sometimes you have to take a step back to move forwards and in this case it has paid off, fantastic smooth running. Love the plural for 'roos, a mob LOL
Great stuff. Always enjoy your updates. Love the blazing saddles reference. Notice the old CN power in the yard. You should do a short video running that around. Cheers from Calgary.
I liked that kangaroo shot, we don't see many of them in the Netherlands ;-). I don't know if it works the same for you, but I used to work like you, my room was always a mess, and I was building a little over here, and a little over there, but it made me restless and I was overwhelmed thinking of how much I still had to do. But now I'm older (58) and I work different, I always make sure that my room is as tidy as possible (a tidy room is a tidy head), and I divide the work in little projects, then I can work on that one project (in case of a railroad it could be a 1 or 2 meter section) and don't worry about the rest. And when I finish a project it gives a nice feeling of accomplishment! For me, it makes the work much more enjoyable. But I know we are not all the same, so you have to work the way that's best for you! Cheers!!
Congratulations on all your success with the new curves there David, they do look and operate in spectacular fashion. I think you have now achieved a configuration for the layout that actually looks right for those long modern, unit style trains you prefer. Not only looking right, but running well.
Thanks Art, I do love the long trains. They aren’t practical for operations on my layout but I reckon I can incorporate them into running session as a through train.
Thanks for the update and the quick tour of your property. I appreciate it. And yes, there’s nothing better than switching off and running trains. Enjoy!
love it, so nice to watch this layout progress. There is still so much potential for it to be expanded. From Double track mainlines to extending the 2nd level behind the peninsula, you have room to do more in the future.
I just realized how much the mountains on the peninsula look like the Organ Mountains in New Mexico. Was that the plan? Your locomotives fit right in. If I ever get to building my new layout, I may, (emphasizing "may"), try your method of spline benchwork. I've always been a plywood/cookie cutter guy.
That wasn’t the plan, I just did a quick google and I can see what you mean. Nothing wrong with cookie cutter. If I didn’t put in the elevation changes I would be how all my layout is built.
Hi David - Layout is looking awesome mate especially with trains running as you have said. In my goods and loco yard the points in real life were all operated by hand which I would like to incorporate in my layout. I notice you have some very small point levers. Are they working ones and if so what are they and where did you get then from?

That line just popped into my head 😆

We also get Fallow Deer, Samba Deer and wombats.

I do have plans for some CN specific trains.

I do try to tidy up periodically. Now that I shouldn’t have any more major construction I will hopefully be able to keep it a bit tidier.
I appreciate your updates. Keeps me working on my railroad. 😊👍!
That’s great to hear.
Looking good. Love the long trains!
Long trains are great but can be a headache.
messy equals progress. train looks good running,, nice and smooth
Yeah, I’ve been tidying some more after getting it running.
Thanks for sharing. Looks grate.
Cheers.
Very good video, like
Watched the entire video, time well spent, great video.
I’m glad you like it.

Never mind the amazing layout, amazing natural neighbours too...jealous on both counts lol
I’m very lucky to live where I do.

You don’t realise how much good it does for you u til they’re running again.

There is lots of potential for future development but I really want to get on top of what I have right now. The rebuild was a bit of a set back.
God bless this mess!
Roos and horses, happy together.
I’ve heard that creative people are really green very messy. My mum was a keen sewer and knitter, her sewing room was always messy.
The proof of the pudding..! Nice one.
Seems to be worth the effort.
You did good David, New track work is running smooth Nice!. Bob
Thanks Bob, it was a bid decision to rip out the old spline but definitely worth it.
Awesome…trains running smoothly…nice track reworking
Thanks, I’m really happy with the outcome.
No need to apologize for anything. That was really amazing pull. If it were me I would have bosted too. Have fun, Chris
I’m glad you liked it, cheers.
Brilliant video and glad to see the tracks working well! Have you tried adding a loco in the middle and the end as well? Cheers!
I have done that with my coal trains and the double stacks. I didn’t this time to show how well the changes have worked.
great work…..
Cheers.
Cool to see the new splines.
It’s taken some time.

Mate the layouts looking awesome!
Thanks a lot 👍
It's so nice when you can run long trains and they stay together good job
It certainly is.
very cool long train on large curves
It’s looks great.
Awesome!
Thanks Daniel.

Hi Chris, they are Caboose Industries ground throws. They make them for n scale and also have power routing versions if you want.
😊
Hi David ,
