  • No air conditioning and very little ice. How in the world do Parisians enjoy life when summer temperatures rise? In this episode, I share what I’ve learned during my part-time life in Paris about how Parisians embrace the summer heat and enjoy life without the typical American comforts of air conditioning and ice. Let’s take a look at some lessons we can learn from their positive attitude and how we can embrace the French “joie de vivre” in our own lives.
In this episode, you will learn:
-How the French approach meals during the hot summer months
-How French style changes when the temperature heats up without sacrificing fashion and taste
-Where French people like to vacation that is different from American preference
-How they comforrtably cope with apartment living in the heat
-My recommendtions for French cocktails you could make at home and experience the joie de vivre wherever you live
    -Much more!

I live in South Africa and in the Western Cape we have a beautiful area called Franschhoek. It translates to the French Quarter. The French developed the most extraordinary wine. My friend came to SA to visit me and as a devoted Francophile, I I thought she would enjoy Franschhoek. Off we go and the first thing she does is ask the waiter for ice so she can water down her white wine. I thought he was going to faint! I asked (begged!)my friend to try it without ice and see how she got on and to me delight she forgot about the ice. It was a slightly embarrassing moment :)
